Chapter 3 - Ch.3 : A new kind of life

That night, Nic sat alone in his room with the lights dimmed. The mysterious phone rested in his hands. He still couldn't believe what had happened—Vivi, the girl he had admired for so long, actually liked him back and became his girlfriend. But that joy was mixed with fear, especially after realizing the phone wasn't just an ordinary one.

He took a deep breath and exhaled heavily. Outside, the sound of crickets softly filled the night air, amplifying the stillness. His room felt smaller than usual, probably because of how cluttered his thoughts were.

When he turned the screen on, Vivi's full profile popped up. It listed everything—her hobbies, favorite food, even her shoe size and color preferences. Nic shivered.

"This... is too much. I feel like a stalker or something," he muttered. Still, curiosity got the better of him, and he kept reading.

As he scrolled through, a strange sense of guilt crept in. But then, something caught his eye: "Loves basketball but scared of the ball hitting her face." Nic raised an eyebrow and chuckled quietly.

"That's kinda cute."

Suddenly, a new notification appeared:

"Congratulations! Skill Transfer Unlocked."

Nic frowned and tapped it. A brief explanation appeared:

"Skill Transfer: After capturing a girl's heart and making her your girlfriend, her best skill will be transferred to you."

He gulped. "So... I'm good at basketball now? Like Vivi?"

He stood up and grabbed a small basketball he kept for decoration. He activated the skill and dribbled it on his cramped bedroom floor. Surprisingly, the bounce and motion felt smooth—almost professional. He stared at his hand like it belonged to someone else.

Before he could even process that, another notification popped up:

If you receive a kiss from your girlfriend naturally, without forcing it, she will fully belong to you. She will never feel hurt by other girls.

To confess to the second or more girls, your current girlfriend must have kissed you. If not, she will instantly leave and hate you forever.

Once you reach five girlfriends, a new system will be unlocked.

Nic read it all carefully. He sat there silently, processing the consequences.

"So... I need to be kissed before adding another girlfriend? And five girlfriends unlock something new? Is this... some kind of harem game?" he thought, gripping the phone tightly.

He stared at the ceiling, then rolled onto his bed. The phone still in his hand, his eyes slowly began to close. But his brain refused to shut off. Vivi's face, the bizarre system, and those strange rules all tangled together in his head.

He eventually drifted off—but only for a short while. Thoughts about the system spun through his mind, stirring plans and possibilities for the future.

The Next Morning at School

Today, Nic walked to the basketball court, steps hesitant. After yesterday's incident, embarrassment still lingered. But something deep inside told him to face it head-on.

The morning breeze brushed his face, and distant voices of students echoed around. He tightened the grip on his backpack straps, trying to calm his nerves.

As soon as he arrived, laughter and mockery greeted him.

"Look who's back—the basketball clown! Gonna give us another laugh, Nic?" shouted Jack, one of the most arrogant players in school.

Nic stayed quiet, trying to ignore them. But then Vivi appeared. She walked toward Nic with a bright smile.

"Morning, Nic! Did you have breakfast?"

The court fell silent. Everyone stared wide-eyed. Vivi, the girl who usually ignored everyone outside her circle, just talked to Nic?

Some girls began whispering, and most of the boys looked like they had seen a ghost.

"What the hell? Vivi... why are you talking to him?" one of Jack's friends asked bitterly.

Nic, still half in disbelief, shrugged with a smirk, testing his new skill. "Maybe because I'm good at basketball?" he said coolly, even if he wasn't totally sure yet.

The crowd burst into laughter again, their words like knives. Jack, now annoyed, stepped forward.

"If you're that good, prove it. One-on-one. Now."

Vivi's smile faded. "Jack, don't. Nic doesn't get much time to practice..."

"He said it himself, didn't he? That he's good. Don't stop me—I'll crush him."

Cheers erupted from the students. Some already pulled out their phones to record.

Nic knew this was his chance. He nodded firmly. "Alright. I accept."

The Match Begins

All eyes were locked on the two. Jack wore a cocky grin, confident that Nic had no chance. But as the match began... everything changed.

Nic activated his skill. His senses sharpened. His movements flowed. He could read the game perfectly—thanks to Vivi's transferred skill.

Jack dashed forward with his usual fast move, but Nic blocked it cleanly.

"What the—how did he read Jack's move?!"

"Wasn't he stiff as a board just yesterday?"

In no time, Nic scored multiple points, stunning the crowd. Jack, who started the match cocky, began to crumble.

"No way... He's never played like this before!" someone muttered.

Jack panted, face flushed with frustration. Nic stayed calm, glanced at Vivi, and ended it with a slam dunk.

The match was over. Nic had won by a landslide. Jack froze, humiliated, then threw the ball and stormed off.

The crowd fell silent—until Vivi clapped loudly and ran over to Nic.

"Nic! That was amazing! I didn't know you could play that well!"

Before he could speak, Vivi suddenly kissed his cheek and smiled before heading back to her friends.

A wave of gasps spread across the court. Girls squealed, and boys stared like they'd just been shot.

Nic stood there, face red. Every guy glared at him with pure hatred.

"WHAT?! She kissed him?! What is this—some kind of nightmare?!"

Nic chuckled to himself, trying to hold back his grin. He touched his cheek, still warm from the kiss.

His phone buzzed again.

"You have been kissed by your first girlfriend. You can now confess to the second girl without hurting Vivi."

He stared at the screen, overwhelmed.

"So... this is just the beginning? This phone is insane," he thought, walking off the court with a confident smile.
