Chapter 118 - Storming the Enemy's Stronghold

Was he hurt?

Just then, someone came patrolling.

Janelle couldn't act rashly. She dangled from the wall, pressing her body tightly against it.

She waited until the patrol had left before leaping back onto the wall.

Seeing her up there, Erik positioned himself.

"Jump down, I'll catch you."

Three meters was too high; he was afraid she might get hurt.

"No need, get out of the way," Janelle said, jumping down anyway. Erik still caught her steadily.

The two quickly slipped into a suitable hiding spot.

"Are you okay? I heard you groan just now. Out of practice?" Erik asked.

"I'm fine. I landed on a rock when I jumped down."

Once inside the stronghold, they immediately began searching for her mother. However, after over an hour, they still had found nothing.

"I'm going straight to grab their leader. That way, they'll hand her over," Janelle declared.

The Eagle Gang's base was huge. Searching aimlessly like this, they had no chance of finding her.

Erik grabbed her arm. "Don't act rashly! Your mother is still in their hands! How about you wait here, and I'll go look."

After all, she was just a twenty-year-old girl. She had some experience, but her ability to withstand pressure might not be enough yet.

Janelle calmed down. He was right. The more critical the moment, the less impulsive she should be.

Yet, after searching for half the day, they still hadn't found anyone.

Erik suddenly felt her idea wasn't so bad after all.

"Let's go. We'll grab their leader directly," Erik said, growing impatient with the search. This method was the most direct and effective.

The Eagle Gang was large; finding someone they were deliberately hiding was very difficult.

But finding the leader of the Eagle Gang was remarkably easy.

When Bryan learned what they planned to do, he could only mutter, "Holy shit!" They were going to storm the enemy's stronghold!

"Erik, are you guys really going to do this?" Bryan was still shocked.

"Why not? Don't you think it's the best method?" Erik retorted. The two of them finding one person in the Eagle Gang was just too hard. "Confirm right now if she's actually in the stronghold!"

But regardless of whether she was inside or not, grabbing the leader would force them to hand her over.

Bryan immediately verified; the answer was affirmative.

"Erik, I've already sent people to the Eagle Gang to back you up. If you want to do it, go ahead!"

That was just how Erik was. Once he decided to do something, he didn't hesitate for a second.

"Alright. Sync the location to me. I'm going to grab him now," Erik said, not wanting to waste any more time.

Bryan immediately synced the location. When Sara found out what they planned, she was extremely worried.

"Bryan, is this really okay? I just looked it up online; the Eagle Gang is a gang!"

With only two of them, could Janelle and Erik really return safely?

Bryan had absolute confidence in Erik.

"Relax, Sis. As long as Erik's on it, there will definitely be no problem."

Sara was frantic, but she truly couldn't help at this moment. This feeling was particularly awful.

She decided that once they got back, she'd find a place to train properly.

Otherwise, always needing others' protection really sucked.

After receiving the location, Erik and Janelle quickly devised a plan to capture their target.

They were completely in sync.

Janelle understood every point Erik made instantly, and Erik grasped everything Janelle suggested immediately.

Before entering, they bumped fists.

Now, they were partners who could completely trust each other with their backs.

It turned out they weren't just compatible in bed; they worked together seamlessly too.

Meanwhile, inside, Du Ying, the leader of the Eagle Gang, was sweating profusely atop a woman. The man was covered in terrifying tattoos.

The woman beneath him moaned wantonly.

Du Ying was thoroughly enjoying himself.

After finishing, he kicked the woman off the bed.

"Get out."

"Brother Ying, can't I stay with you?" the naked woman pleaded.

"Don't you understand human speech?" Du Ying's chilling glare swept over her. The naked woman scrambled up and left immediately.

Du Ying trusted no one. He had worked too hard to reach his current position and was extremely cautious in everything he did.

After the woman left, Du Ying's younger brother, Du Ming, entered. Seeing the mess on the bed, Du Ming shook his head.

"Brother, the Rovellas said if we can make sure Janelle dies here, they'll pay double!" Du Ming informed him.

Westin had contacted Du Ming. Du Ming had checked the Rovellas' background and thought it was feasible.

Of course, just that money alone wasn't enough for them.

Since Westin dared to approach them, Blue Whale Co., Ltd. would eventually fall into their hands anyway.

"Janelle? Fine. If they want her dead, then she dies," Du Ying stated coldly. He was a ruthless killer who had fled to the border after being wanted by the police for murder back in China.

Admittedly, life on the border was good; he'd made a lot of money over the years.

"However," Du Ming added, "they want it done after the shareholders' meeting. They want Janelle to personally tell the shareholders she's relinquishing Blue Whale Co., Ltd."

Du Ying just found it annoying.

Just because they paid a bit of money, they thought they could order him around?

"Don't bother with him."

"Big Brother, Blue Whale Co., Ltd. has huge potential. If we could get it..." Du Ming pressed.

"Hmm, I know. Contact Janelle. Tell her to give up Blue Whale Co., Ltd.," Du Ying commanded. On the border, there was nothing he couldn't do.

Right now, Madalyn was in his hands. That girl would have to obey.

"Okay, I'll contact her right away." Du Ming immediately called Janelle.

However, the phone rang for a long time with no answer.

"What's going on?" Du Ying asked, seeing Du Ming's grim expression.

"She's not answering the call."

"Is that so? Hah," Du Ying scoffed. "Well, Madalyn is a lunatic. Everything Janelle did was just to get Blue Whale Co., Ltd. Why would she give it up? Human nature is always like this." If it were him, he wouldn't give up everything within reach for a crazy mother either.

Meanwhile, Janelle was right outside Du Ying's window. She and Erik had split up to act.

The best moment to strike had just passed because Du Ming arrived. Listening to their conversation, Janelle had hoped to learn where Madalyn was being held, but ultimately heard nothing useful.

"Keep trying. Use whatever means necessary to make Janelle relinquish her inheritance rights to Blue Whale Co., Ltd.," Du Ying ordered.

Du Ming nodded and left.

Once sure he was gone, Janelle climbed through the window.

"Who's there?!" Du Ying, having survived to this day, was no fool. He instantly pulled out a pistol from under the bed.

Janelle gave him no chance. She fired a shot directly into Du Ying's gun hand.
