Chapter 2 - The Weakest Awakening

At the age of 16, Kai was finally allowed to take the Awakening Test.

While other hopefuls were surrounded by golden light and roars of power, Kai's awakening barely flickered—a dim grey glow.

"G-Rank," the examiner said coldly. "The lowest possible rank. Weak aura, no skill detected. Next!"

The crowd laughed. But Kai clenched his fists. "I'll still become a hunter."

He registered as a G-Rank Hunter—the lowest of the low. He was only allowed into E-Rank dungeons—the most basic and least rewarding.

But he kept pushing.

: The Forbidden Dungeon

One day, a shady guild offered Kai quick money—he just had to enter a dungeon with them as bait. Desperate for cash, he agreed.

But it was a trap.

It wasn't an E-Rank dungeon. It was corrupted, housing an SSS-Rank Demon Beast: a Dreadfire Cerberus—three heads, nine tails, and a body that melted the ground.

Everyone else ran. Kai was left alone.

He knew death had come.

But just as the beast lunged at him, his body was struck by a blinding white light. The world paused.

> [Ding! You have awakened the Divine Hack System]

Welcome, Host. Weakness detected. System Activation: 100%.

Do you wish to Override All Limits?

Kai screamed: "YES!"

Copying Target: [Dreadfire Cerberus]

Skill Copied: Hellfire Breath

Skill Copied: Demonic Regeneration

Skill Copied: Beast Authority

The Cerberus charged again, but this time, Kai raised his hand.

"HELLFIRE BREATH!"

A torrent of black fire exploded from his mouth, melting the dungeon wall—and burning through one of the beast's heads.

The beast growled. Kai's heart pounded. He wasn't strong enough to win yet—but he could now fight.

And grow stronger.

: The Hunter Who Shouldn't Exist

When Kai emerged from the dungeon—badly injured but alive—he was changed.

Everyone who saw the dead Cerberus thought it was a lie. "A G-Rank killed that?"

The Hunter Association was in chaos. They tested him again—but his rank didn't change.

Still G-Rank.

But something was wrong. Very wrong.

Because from that day forward, Kai began hacking skills, copying powerful techniques, and leveling faster than any human had ever done.

He was a glitch in the system.
