Chapter 304 - Leader of Resentment

Among the many followers of the cult, only a few who were in the fifth circle stood out—and one of them, at that moment, was being thrown around by an invisible force.

'Damn it, who is this wretch?'

He was Reverio Falcon, one of Lord Sandro's most loyal followers, and one of his five favorites. His pride was enormous, so why was he rolling on the ground because of someone younger than him? This was humiliating.

"I have to stop this somehow."

No matter what he did, his body couldn't stop flying and crashing into the ground. Even when he tried to use his wind magic to fly, the spell being used on him was too strong for him to simply force a stop, so he needed to think of a plan.

'Maybe if—'

"Left."

His body stopped midair and was suddenly thrown in another direction, slamming into the wall of a house and spinning, without breaking a single brick because of the barrier around them, before continuing to crash into other objects along the way.

"He's a fifth circle, but far too weak compared to me."

Flicking her hair proudly with her hand, Serenya watched her opponent desperately try to find a way to stop his movement and lessen the damage he was taking.

"It's obvious your percentage is lower than mine… If it were Enrico, he would've fixed this in seconds."

Praising her future husband with pride, Valença shook her head. Turning to the right with a hint of cruel joy in her eyes, she saw one of the people responsible for summoning that barrier smashing into the ground.

'I can't let him die so easily. I need to break a few bones first.'

Infusing control magic into her body, she gave herself a command to gain more speed and strength. With a burst of movement, she quickly reached Falcon from behind and kicked him in the back, sending him straight into the ground.

"Damn you!"

Lifting his hand, he fired a massive blast of wind, squeezing Serenya with force and dragging her several meters back. When he tried to stand, he was slammed into the ground again and then lifted into the air.

"Right."

Sent toward the house beside them, Falcon's body hit the door and then the ceiling, spinning violently. When Serenya lowered her hand, his body crashed into the ceiling again with greater force, breaking two of his ribs.

"Two isn't enough yet."

Rotating her hand in the air, Falcon's body spun along with it as he was thrown backward, this time crashing into a carriage on the street, shattering it to pieces.

'I can buy a new one, so it doesn't matter.'

With an arrogant smile on her face, she moved quickly to Falcon's location, grabbed him by the hood, and slammed him into the ground with force.

"Gahh!"

Blood spilling from his mouth, Falcon forced his eyes open—this was the perfect moment to escape Serenya's spell, so he wouldn't waste the chance.

"Falcon Claws!"

Wings burst from his back, propelling him forward. Spinning, he pierced Serenya's stomach with two wind claws, surprising her. With a second thrust, he spun again, creating a massive tornado around him and launching her into a house.

"You're far too arrogant, you wretch! If not for the good fortune of the plan of the five, you should have died long ago!"

Flying in the air, he saw Serenya stumbling out of the house. That attack was without a doubt one of the three strongest in his arsenal—so seeing her alive enraged Falcon.

'I just have to repeat it. There's no way she survives a second strike.'

With a burst of speed, he dove straight toward Serenya. Just as his claws were about to tear into her, with absurd speed she caught both of Falcon's arms.

"The five? Mind telling me who they are?"

"Are you stupid? They're my lord's favorites, and I'm one of them!"

Falcon tried to fly away with all his strength, but he remained stuck in place due to a monstrous force. Before he could attempt to escape again, his arms were snapped in half the moment Serenya squeezed both her hands.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"

"So you were one of the main reasons he was trapped."

While he screamed, she kicked him in the throat, twisting his neck in a way that prevented him from speaking and staying alive at the same time.

"Ghh—"

Serenya pulled his head closer to her face. Her eyes glowed purple with overflowing fury, paralyzing Falcon with fear. Placing her hand on his chest, Serenya coldly recited the words of the spell she created specifically for those responsible for that barrier after seeing her mother use a certain magic.

"Break everything."

More precisely, this spell was an order she imposed upon the body of an opponent lower-level than herself, causing irreparable damage. Falcon's body began to shrink grotesquely, blood pouring from every part of him, and to make matters worse, it all happened while he was still alive—because Serenya commanded him mentally not to die yet.

"Ghh…sin…gak—"

"Sin? Do you want to know what sin you committed to suffer like this?"

Serenya's expression was cold as she leaned close to his face, even as it began to deform from the pressure his body was enduring.

"It's simple. You stole two years of my time with my subordinate."

With one final squeeze of Serenya's hand, Falcon became nothing more than a ball of flesh on the ground, without a single trace of life. As if that still wasn't enough, Serenya fired a sphere of pure magic at what remained of Falcon, erasing him completely from the street.

"The remaining four will suffer the same, you filthy creature."

Sensing a presence nearby, Serenya turned toward a house and let out a sigh.

"Elian, come out."

"L-L-Leader—"

"If you tell Enrico about this, I'll kill you, lesser subordinate."

Elian was sweating heavily from fear. He himself had planned to kill the main culprits—but not so cruelly.

'I only planned to cut him into pieces.'

He pouted and looked away while Serenya noticed a battle happening further away.

"Tsk, looks like I won't be able to eliminate all four."

Wiping the blood from her mouth, her eyes—enhanced by her control magic—watched Valença burning the arm of a hooded follower slowly with a cold expression.

'Seems we're all resentful.'
