Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Devolving Into Madness

The Caelbridge Academy marble atrium was barely present with any students, the board showcasing the participants in the mock tournament already privy to them all. 'Are they really that shameless or is he really that desperate?'

Jarren couldn't help but smirk at the absurdity of the opponent that he was going to face. A mere glance at the board and all kinds of runes could be seen faintly echo about, names constantly shifting about to the untrained eye however he saw it pitch perfectly.

Students were usually pitched to face other students of the same class however for him, he was treated to a rare exception. Rather than face a fellow elementalist, he had to face an Augmenter. Lance Cerlin, an augmenter that specialized in buffs and debuffs in the fourth year.

He had a record of being precise and clean, known for his looks and humble background he was liked all over the Academy and he was meant to face him. Jarren Velros, a Vein Weaver in the Silver Vow rank. 'I hope you make it interesting for me Lance.'

The tournament was the day after tomorrow thus the halls were mostly empty, with a select few students running about. Mostly these being third and second year old students while the fourth year students were holing in their rooms to focus on the attention meant to be cast on them.

His figure crashed hard onto his bed, his breathe ragged despite doing nothing the entire day and before he knew it, he was asleep as his mind wondered the world.

"You're the closest one to him so far. Callista isn't someone I can contact so easily thanks to her background without tip toeing on eggshells." Harven mused, his voice dripping with interest as his eyes locked with the student absorbed in her book.

"I wouldn't be using the word close as we haven't been talking as much of late." Orissa who had been invested with her book was now apathetic of it. "I understand however we need you to understand the severity of the matter. I'm sure that even you have figured that something is off with Jarren, the way his glyphwork ticks is... wrong."

Even she had come to realize that as well however she had never thought that Harven would have been so interested with Jarren with a level of equivalence to her. "All you have to do is get close,of you can't then I understand." And with that Harven took his leave.

Orissa was left contemplating what she had just been told. 'I can't believe that he'll show Callista a proper glyphwork analysis. However there's no way that I'll be his slave whatsoever.' The book in her hands basic work of glyph interrogation through concentric malcore, the basics that she had long forgotten.

Such a book was valuable to first year students, way below her caliber and yet here she was. 'I'll find out what you're hiding Jarren.' With her interest gone for the book she retuned it back to the shelf and left the Archives.

Jarren looked at the lady infront of him, a curl forming on his face as the lady remained entranced in her work. It was Clomere who was in his bath, taking her sweet time in it as she gave off faint murmurs that would stagger some of the servants.

Her hair glistened in the moonlight that peered through the window, her body shimmering with beads of water as she remained unmoving. It wasn't long before her hands started to roam her body, one on her chest and the other way lower.

Her movements sluggish underwater as she clamped her legs, obscene whispers echoing through the air. "Oh master..." Her body letting shivers that let waves run across the surface that threatened to spill over. His presence was spectral, absent to the naked eye of a human.

"I didn't know that you were so indulgent Clomere." The lady lost in her pleasure snapped back, her face flushed as her movements froze stiff. Opening her eyes out of horror there he stood, Jarren with his hands folded neatly behind his back. She wasn't sure whether she was dreaming or not.

"Master Jarren, I - I thought that you were back at the academy?!" Her voice startled as she buried her body deeper into the water. With a playful smile he drew closer making her body grow tenser with each step he took till he towered over her.

"Come on out, I won't bite." Ushering her his hand, his voice was warm and soft however she was still in her staggered stupor. Hesitantly, her hand shot out of the water in an attempt to grab his hand, her mind hoping that it was a mirage that she had concocted.

Her warm moist hand clashed with his dry soft hands and with a tug urged her to step out of the tub. She grit her teeth, realizing that she would be stark in front Jarren however another part of her was curious of how he would react. Rivulets of water ran down her glistening body as she stepped out laying her body bare for him to see.

Her breasts were no joke in terms of size as her cherry nipples stood out, much larger than Meryln's however a step lower than Veriyal's. Her skin smooth and glistening as the trail of water that dripped off her body let out a small puddle at her feet. Her cove a mere splendor to look at, her folds plump begging to be teased.

She looked away, her face flushed pink as her dainty fingers wrapped around his. "I didn't think that you would have such a magnificent body, Clomere. You really should let it simmer out for a minute, to get rid of the water." Never once did she make contact with him.

Her eyes darting all over the place, from the lavish robes that remained holstered, the pristine white marble floors, the door that she wished to bolt out of and finally the edges of his figure. His smile growing she held her chin forcing her to look at him.

"What? Don't tell me that my slave is afraid of looking at me or unless you did something I shouldn't know. Perhaps here or at my parents abode." Her scalp tingled, her breathes shallow as she found it hard to look at his obsidian eyes that always seemed to see through her.

"I..." Her voice barely a whisper as her lips parted however no word came out. His eyes playful as his hand cupped her face, his robes now stained with moisture however he didn't bothered in the slightest. "As a slave of mine I naturally have to enlighten what you're facing."

In one fell swoop, she found herself in his arms carried in a princess manner towards his chambers. 'Is he finally going to...' Despite her nervousness, a faint smile crawled onto her face as he opened the doors revealing his white king-sized bed. However rather than place her onto the soft cushions, she placed her right in front of his mirror.

Her shocked died down quickly before meekness took over. Wrapping his arms around her slender waist, she couldn't help but blush looking at the reflection coddling her. There he was, his eyes foreign and cold like beads rather than eyes, his smile spoke louder than the silence that hung around him.

And there she was, a girl fully naked. Her body out in full display as her legs would shift from time to time. Placing his chin on her shoulder, he raised a question however his lips never once moved. "Clomere, just what do you see?" Last time she had descended into madness and obsession with the question.

Her hand caressed his cheek making her tits lightly sway. "...My master and his loyal slave." She had grown accustomed to the name with how much bliss she would indulge in that now it felt like second nature to her to muse it. "Really?" Noting his still face, a faint uneasiness gnawed her heart however she couldn't go anywhere.

"What kind of slave acts so brazenly with their master?" Her movements faltered, her body shivered before taking a gulp. "This humble slave that doesn't know her boundaries. I do believe that punishment is due for such a naughty thing." Her breathes brushing across his face.

"Then stop with reflection and reach out to me." His final thoughts to which she noticed how his reflection warped replaced with a galaxy of stars and pantheons that coated his existence. The same horror that was now etched deep inside her memory till the end of time.

He lowered her hands letting her walk closer to the mirror that screamed for her presence. Her fingers stretched out to so much as touch the reflection only for her figure to be swallowed by it.

In front of her was a magnificent castle that hummed faintly and around her the endless expanse of the gaping maw of the void echoed to her wishing her to jump and be consumed by it. "Meet me in the hall." She didn't know how she heard his voice but she chose to execute his orders.

Walking in, she was met with a set of stairs that seemed to stretch out forever. On each side reality fractured revealing all kinds of beings that her mind told her never existed. Horrors suspended on strings wailing for erasure, weeping gods wishing for their death or demise and above them the stars that shimmered upon closer look realized that were pantheons.

All kinds of civilizations stuck in purgatory limbo, their existence put on display however the numbers that her mind read was too much that she had to look away to maintain her sanity. "Turn back little one for a fate worse than death lies ahead." The voice boomed through the cracks making her figure freeze.

Strings of anti logic ran all over phasing through the fabric of reality as they wished. The stairs seemed to stretch even further as if with each step she took, a near infinite more grew. "Claim your own life." Another one echoed. The voice of a god with their existence fractured akin to glass.

She wanted to feel remorse for them however the tears that she longer for never came. Recalling his words she trudged on up the stairs as the voices persisted. "Jump into the maw little one." The more she went on, the more they urged her to turn back or claim her own life revealing that she was going to meet her unravel if she persisted.

'Maybe... Maybe I've truly gone insane!' A thought that lasted for no more than a second made her question her motive and reason. The more she scaled the less progress her seemed to make as the stairs grew anew with each step she took. "She's mad." More voices came through the fractured walls of reality.

"She's lost to the horror." Now the intent shifted as they claimed that she was already too far gone to retreat but regardless of it all, she went through with it. His words still fresh in her mind. "Can you all shut up?!" Her voice laced with rage made everything fall silent. Gods that wept lost their cries to the abyss, horrors forgot how to mourn and reality, it merely came to a halt.
