At this moment, the enemy of humanity known as Ethan was currently nestled comfortably in Luna's soft sofa, sipping freshly squeezed orange juice while eating delicate small cookies Luna had baked with her own hands.
The gentle afternoon sunlight streamed through windows decorated with branches bearing little red berries and white wildflowers, falling warmly on Ethan's face and adding a touch of softness and elegance to his already handsome features.
Luna leaned peacefully against his side, her pale golden hair cascading down like spun silk. The two of them appeared so peaceful and harmonious together they resembled a living painting of domestic bliss.
Mr Lovegood approached carrying a steaming tea service, and seeing this heartwarming scene, couldn't help but feel genuine warmth spreading through his chest.
How absolutely loving they look... Like two little angels cuddling together in perfect contentment. Just watching them makes one feel better about the world.
"So I completely wiped out an entire goblin military camp," Ethan continued his story casually.
Mr Lovegood froze mid-step: "...?"
The hand holding the delicate teapot suddenly trembled with shock.
Ethan looked up to see Luna's father frozen in place like he'd been struck by a Petrification Curse. He enthusiastically stood up and took the teapot from the older man's nerveless fingers.
His face bore that pure, harmless smile that had charmed so many professors and fellow students.
Mr Lovegood's lips twitched twice in response, then he turned and quickly hurried upstairs with obvious urgency.
He needs to check whether the history books have been mysteriously changed!
"Oh my, what a shy person," Ethan observed, watching Luna's father stomping up the stairs with hurried footsteps. He shook his head with an amused chuckle.
Turning back to their cosy situation, he carefully set down the teapot on the side table. Settling back beside Luna, he focused his attention on the metal scroll wrapped in rich, ancient magical energy that rested in her delicate hands.
"How is it progressing? Can you see anything unusual about the mechanism?" he asked with genuine curiosity.
Though he posed this question, Ethan didn't hold particularly high hopes for immediate success.
"Mm..." Luna hummed softly in concentration.
Her golden hair fell beside her cheek like a curtain as her dreamy blue eyes focused intently on the mysterious scroll. Her fingers slowly traced over the intricate silver spiral markings with reverent care.
"Maybe we should go to the study?" Ethan suggested practically. "See if there are any reference books that might provide clues about ancient..."
Ethan's words suddenly stopped mid-sentence. His eyes slowly widened with amazement.
In his cobalt-blue eyes was reflected the incredible sight of the scroll slowly opening under Luna's gentle touch, as if responding to her unique magical signature.
"Click." The outer shell opened with a soft, mechanical sound.
A tremendous surge of magical power poured forth like floodwater that had been sealed for a thousand years! The raw energy filled the room with tangible intensity.
Whoosh... Ghostly blue dust swept through the cosy living space like glittering fairy dust.
The intense life force contained within the ancient magic caused the decorative branches on the windows to immediately sprout fresh new buds and leaves.
Ethan watched the magical light points dancing gracefully in the air with pure amazement. Taking a deep breath, he felt the magic within his own body swell like a balloon being filled, making him sigh with comfortable satisfaction.
Ethan turned his head, eyes sparkling like stars as he looked at Luna with obvious excitement: "That's incredible! How did you manage to do it?"
Luna tilted her head with that characteristic dreamy expression, speaking as if it was the most natural thing in the world: "It's just that the silver spiral marking is glowing brightly."
Saying this, she stroked the pattern that appeared completely unchanged to Ethan's enhanced vision. "You simply follow its glowing flow and carefully infuse your magical power into it. Like turning a key in a perfectly fitted lock."
"Then it opens with a satisfying click."
Hearing this explanation, Ethan raised his eyebrows high with growing realisation. He felt absolutely certain that people who could actually see ancient magical flows and successfully activate such artefacts were extremely rare in the wizarding world!
Otherwise, those goblin warriors would have opened the scroll long ago themselves. Why would they bother waiting to deliver it directly to him?
Ethan gazed deeply into Luna's clear blue eyes with newfound respect and understanding. Those eyes were clear as mountain water, flickering with spiritual light that seemed to perceive layers of reality invisible to others.
Always appearing to float and gaze at some distant place, as if sleepwalking through a world where she could see things others couldn't even imagine.
Now Ethan truly believed Luna possessed the ability to perceive much deeper mystical truths than ordinary witches and wizards.
This spiritual vision is incredibly strong! Luna's eyes are equivalent to having my own magical sight enhanced beyond normal limits.
"Wonderful! Luna, you have a genuinely unique talent!" Ethan declared with admiration. "Truly worthy of being a Ravenclaw student, naturally possessing the potential to pursue knowledge that others can't even detect."
Hearing Ethan's sincere praise, Luna couldn't help but curve her lips in a pleased smile as a faint blush spread across her pale cheeks like rose petals.
They smiled at each other warmly for several moments before remembering the opened scroll waiting for their attention.
"Ahem." Ethan cleared his throat, turning his gaze back to the mysterious artefact. "Alright, let's see what wonderful things the ancient wizards left for us to discover!"
They both leaned forward and looked down together with anticipation.
Inside the scroll lay a carefully folded note written on aged parchment and an antique bronze key that gleamed with old magic.
Luna picked up the key first, examining it with careful attention and asking with bright curiosity: "This looks exactly like a Gringotts vault key."
"There's a '12' carved into the metal... representing vault number 12 perhaps?"
"I've never heard of anyone possessing a double-digit vault number. Even the Philosopher's Stone that was stolen two years ago was stored in vault 713."
Ethan nodded with understanding: "After all, this artefact comes from the goblin rebellion period hundreds of years ago."
"I remember that Gringotts had just been established during that time period. This is probably one of their very earliest vaults."
"Perfect! When next semester's school letters arrive, let's go shopping together in Diagon Alley."
"Yes, yes!" Luna agreed with obvious happiness.
Ethan grinned with anticipation. A few seconds later, he suddenly remembered there was still the aged note they hadn't examined yet.
Note: So love will disappear, right?
Ethan turned his attention back to more important matters: "Ahem. What's written on this parchment is... an Ancient Runes explanation!"
Related to genuine ancient magic!
Ethan's pupils immediately contracted with intense focus. Concentrating completely, he began reading the faded text with serious attention.
"The Aard rune is a specialised variant of Ancient Runes that can release powerful shockwaves with suppressive effects. Originally invented by a group of witchers with fragile knees...?"
"Through years of dedicated research, I combined it with authentic ancient magic principles. Finally, I successfully created an entirely new incantation."
"It can not only suppress creatures' physical bodies but also affect their very souls."
"When used on lycanthropy patients, the results are significant. Successfully weakening [wolf nature] and strengthening [humanity]..."
"But it's still not enough... can't completely eliminate the curse. Need more powerful incantations..."
"Wait for me, my dearest daughter..."
The rest of the precious notes were unfortunately damaged by age and time.
Ethan could only vaguely make out a character that resembled "Fu".
[You have learnt the Ancient Magic Variant: Aard Sign!]
[Aard Sign: Release a directed shockwave forward, pushing objects away; suppress creatures' minds and souls.]
Mystical knowledge flowed directly into Ethan's mind like water filling a vessel. It was a rune symbol resembling an inverted triangle, emanating a profound and mysterious aura that spoke of ancient power.
Ethan raised his hand with careful concentration. Following the knowledge he had just acquired, he attempted to draw the symbol in the air with precise movements.
Though his mind now understood the theory perfectly, his hand struggled to cooperate with the complex motions. Moreover, he had to coordinate intricate magical constructions within his body simultaneously.
Very difficult indeed.
Several seconds later, a somewhat crooked inverted triangle symbol appeared under Ethan's concentrated efforts.
"Whoosh!" Like a directed gust of wind, the cups on the coffee table shifted forward slightly.
At the same time, with an audible "crack", one of them developed a visible hairline fracture.
Luna observed the results with characteristic honesty: "It looks pretty weak."
Ethan sighed: "... Indeed."
Ethan could easily think of ten thousand more effective ways to push objects around and break them using conventional magic.
But he believed this ancient rune's most crucial and valuable aspect was its promised mind-impact effect on living beings.
After all, in contemporary wizarding society, most magical techniques related to mind and soul manipulation were classified as Dark Magic and strictly controlled by the Ministry.
Even the advanced methods for creating living portraits were kept as closely guarded secrets.
Ethan's gaze lingered thoughtfully on one particular line from the manuscript: [Can weaken "wolf nature" and restore "humanity"]
The research direction was specifically focused on "werewolves"...
Just then, "Knock knock knock." Deliberate knocking sounds rang out from their front door.
Who could this be? Who would voluntarily visit Luna's house, which has become legendary as a demon's den throughout the wizard village?
Ethan and Luna exchanged meaningful glances, quickly putting away the scroll and the Vault 12 key for safekeeping.
Raising his wand in a defensive position, Ethan walked ahead with cautious steps. He approached the door carefully, peering through the small hole that served as their makeshift peephole.
However, his eyes widened slightly with genuine surprise.
Before him appeared a completely unexpected visitor that he had never anticipated seeing at this location.
