Russell was unable to resist losing his train focus as he gazed out the window at the passing scenery. This was his first long-distance journey since birth. The lengthy trip would have been a true test for the students, but luckily, New Metro First High had scheduled a train for them rather than a bus. Naturally, they were in charge of their own lodging, food, and transportation. Russell would have simply ridden Pidgeot here, but he had no special plans. However, the train is more comfortable than Pidgeot.
"The train will soon reach the station. Northgate is the last stop. Please remember to bring your belongings with you, passengers.
In the train compartment, a quiet female voice could be heard. Northgate, we're here. Russell picked up his bags and he and his classmates disembarked from the train.
People with signs for "New Metro First High" were already waiting in the train departure hall at this point. Victoria Song stepped forward and gave the man her teacher's ID. "Hello, this is Victoria Song from New Metro First High."
After examining the teacher's ID for a few moments, the man said, "You mean Teacher Song? Is everyone present? Let's leave."
Russell and his group boarded the bus and proceeded to their hotel. Naturally, Russell had asked the school to help him reserve a single room, as he was responsible for his own food and lodging. He will not make himself share a room with his classmates now that he has money. In addition, he himself has some secrets that are kept to himself.
Russell was packing his bags in his room when someone knocked on the door.
"Who?" Russell halted his activity, yelled, and moved to the door.
He opened the door to find a middle-aged woman leaning against the door frame, dressed sensuously. She couldn't resist flirting with Russell when she saw him. "All right, handsome. In a new city, alone? Why don't you let a girl show you some fun? I'll make sure you're comfortable."
Russell couldn't help but feel cold as he gazed at her oversized body and overdone makeup. He declined right away. "No need, thank you. Furthermore, I'm not yet an adult. What you're doing is against the law. This was just Russell's excuse; he was an adult.
When the woman heard this, she couldn't help but sigh regretfully. It's very unfortunate. I even had a discount in mind for you, handsome.
It wouldn't work even if you paid me, Russell thought as his eye twitched at the sound of this.
"If you need anything, you can come to the address on the business card to find me," the woman said thoughtfully as she handed Russell a business card as he was ready to shut the door.
Russell, however, simply closed the door, didn't take the business card, and pretended not to hear. The entire concept of requesting prostitutes seemed shady to him. He wouldn't have agreed even if the woman had been attractive. He had seen too many honey traps in his past life, after all. Even though he thought that, as a bronze-level cardmaker, those involved in such activities wouldn't really threaten him physically, it wouldn't look good if things got out of control. Was it really necessary for him to explain Victoria Song and the others that he had hired a prostitute ?
But before he could turn around and start packing his bags again, the little card was slipped in through the gap beneath the door. Russell was about to open the door and politely decline the woman after picking up the card when he became aware of a problem. The woman's name, Misty, was written on the card's front. Additionally, a line of brief words was written on the back.
"I'll see you tonight. Black Turtle District, 175 Riverpearl Road. A large, fiery red lipstick kiss served as the signature.
Disgusted, Russell tossed the business card to the side. Just then, there was another knock on the door, but this time it was the door next door.
Am I being too suspicious? The man next door appeared to accept the woman's arrangement just as he was thinking this. However, the subsequent exchange caused Russell to become silent.
"All right, let's check out the items! Decide a price.
"Sir, I apologize. I'm not selling my body; I'm selling my art. You are welcome to visit our Everspring Clinic to support our business if you have any... needs. It is adjacent to the hotel.
"Simon, screw it! "Find me a Fat one," I said.
Russell sighed and silently picked up the little card on the floor, ignoring his neighbor's idotic words . The Spirit Begging Society is what it is.
He had already looked at the local map after getting to the hotel. On the card, his hotel, the Jubilee Hotel, was located on East Tranquility Road, a long way from Riverpearl Road. Additionally, Marcus had informed him that he would hear from someone at Northgate, but he didn't anticipate hearing from them so quickly. Less than an hour had passed since his arrival.
Either the contract isn't working properly, or they have someone watching the station. But he liked the first option. Had there been a problem with the contract, his first mission would have probably revealed it. Only because they believed the contract gave them control did the Spirit Begging Society dare to invest in and use him so brazenly. They couldn't just be taking advantage of a situation.
Naturally, Russell wouldn't leave something like that lying around his room, so he put the little card in his pocket. Even if others witnessed it, they would only conclude that he was ready for a night out and couldn't control his desires. He kept packing his bags, ignoring the situation for the moment.
It was six o'clock in the evening as the sun slowly sank. Russell came up to Victoria Song as she was getting ready to take her students to the restaurant for dinner. "I'm going for a walk, Ms. Song." He had a valid reason. "I've never traveled this far before. I'd like to see how Northgate and New Metro differ from one another.
Ms. Song agreed right away without giving it much thought. "All right, but don't return too late." Three days before the test, a quick stroll was acceptable. Furthermore, Northgate's public security was still reliable because it was a temporary capital.
"Russell, can I go with you?" asked Liam Blake, who was standing next to Ms. Song at the time.
Russell stopped. He couldn't simply say he was going to see a Spirit Begging Society member, but he also couldn't allow Liam to follow him. There was a pause, then he clenched his jaw and drew Liam away. "I'm actually going to the Everspring Clinic next to the hotel," he muttered.
Liam first glanced at Russell in disbelief under the crowd's stares. "Th-then, you... you go alone," he stammered as his face gradually turned bright red. Leaning closer, he said in a bold whisper, "Don't worry, Russell! Of course, I'll keep the secret from you! Even if they kill me, I won't tell anyone!"
Prostitution wasn't something a good student did, even if it were legal in this world. Russell's self-smearing campaign had succeeded in getting rid of Liam, so thankfully his efforts had not been in vain.
Victoria Song, who was watching, gave them both a weird look and let out a deep sigh. Am I growing too old to follow these young people's thoughts?
Russell was able to buy himself some time in this way. But instead of heading straight to the address on the business card, he took a leisurely stroll in a different direction. It would be a little noticeable if he went straight to the destination. It took him a long time to get to the appointment location.
But he couldn't help but go into a daze as he gazed at the exquisite sign in front of him.
"Main Branch of Everspring Clinic on Riverpearl Road."
