Chapter 274: The Two-Tails Jinchuriki!

Nara Keisuke removed his hand from the Two-Tails' (Matatabi's) massive, blue-flamed body. His blood had entered its system, forming a deep contract. Following the Five-Tails and the Three-Tails, he had now successfully contracted with his third Tailed Beast, one step closer to his dream of "collecting all nine and synthesizing a mini Ten-Tails."
"A ninja's blood..." Matatabi flicked its tails, displeased. If it had a choice, it would never have become a human's summon. But, the situation was what it was.
"Matatabi—" Keisuke began, but was cut off.
"Correct yourself, Nara Keisuke," it said coolly. "Many call me Matatabi, but that is not my true name. I do not know why Kokuō told you that, but my name is 'Yugito'."
Wait, it's not Matatabi? Keisuke blinked, but went along with it. "Alright, Yugito."
The Two-Tails, Yugito, nodded, satisfied. Compared to the Kumo brutes who only knew how to show off their muscles, this "Nara Keisuke" was far more agreeable.
"Yugito," Keisuke continued, "I will have the Raikage bring the new Jinchuriki candidate here. After you are sealed, I will take you both away from Kumogakure."
"I'm curious," it asked, its voice raspy and ethereal. "If you're just going to take me, why not put me in the [Amber Purifying Pot] and leave?"
"That's a good idea," Keisuke said with a shrug. "But you can't stay in a pot forever. Your body is too large, your chakra too conspicuous. I don't currently have a space large enough for all the Tailed Beasts to roam freely. So, for now, you'll have to be active in Jinchuriki form."
He had no interest in Isobu because it was ugly. Yugito, while not on Kokuō's level, was at least better than that turtle. He could afford to show it some goodwill, and he repeated the same speech he'd given Isobu about having a "partner" to experience the human world with.
"I have no interest in ninja," Yugito replied, bored. "Fragile, boring, short-lived species."
"If not ninja..." Keisuke rubbed his chin. "What about... ninja cats? I happen to know a family of them."
"Why would you bring up ninja cats?" Yugito's tail swished, annoyed. "I am not a cat!"
Keisuke looked at the giant, two-tailed, blue-flaming... cat. "You look just like one," he thought. Yugito, sensing his gaze, hissed at him. 'Yep, definitely a cat.'
"One more thing, Yugito," he said seriously. "If you truly detest being a Jinchuriki, I can promise you that when the time is right, I will unseal you. I have already mastered a method to extract a Tailed Beast without killing its host."
Han's stable condition was proof. As long as a small amount of Tailed Beast chakra was returned to the host's body, they would survive. He wasn't sealing them because he hated them; he was sealing them because he couldn't carry multiple Tailed Beasts around with him.
Yugito was silent. "...Are you serious?"
"Absolutely." He raised his hand. "I swear on my love for Kokuō."
"Kokuō..." Yugito scoffed, a hint of envy in its voice. "That lucky... fellow."
"Oh, and one more thing," Keisuke added. "The sealing jutsu we'll be using won't be Kumo's [Iron Armor Seal], nor the [Tailed Beast Sealing Method]. I'll be using a different one."
He was, of course, referring to the [Eight Trigrams Sealing Style]—a combination of two [Four Symbols Seals]. It was the same seal used on the future Naruto. Its greatest advantage was not just its stability, but its ability to allow the Jinchuriki to slowly draw on and convert the Tailed Beast's chakra, strengthening their own body in the process.
Yugito, however, had no idea what he was talking about, nor did it care. For a prisoner about to be incarcerated, did the style of the jail cell really matter? It was weak, pitiful, and helpless. It had no choice but to let him do as he pleased.
The "Nara-Raikage" clone, who had been watching from the side, finally walked over. "Are you two finished?"
Yugito gave him a cold look. It still wasn't sure if he was really being controlled, but it knew it felt no fondness for him.
"You can go get the person now," Keisuke said, signaling his clone. "I'll wait for you here."
"Nara-Raikage" rolled his eyes, but tossed his [Chakra Crystal] ring to his main body before activating his Lightning Release Chakra Mode and vanishing. Keisuke caught the ring, satisfied to see it was still full. 'Excellent. With this, I can use my new FTG as much as I want.'
Yugito, watching the Raikage leave, let out a lazy yawn.
Outside the gorge, "Nara-Raikage" found the waiting Kumo-nin.
"Boss! You're out! Is the Two-Tails defeated?"
"Nara-Raikage" ignored their fawning. "I'm returning to the gorge! The Two-Tails is my priority!" he barked. He grabbed a small-statured ninja from the crowd and, before anyone else could react, sped back toward the gorge, carrying them.
As they neared the entrance, he finally slowed and put the person down.
"Whoa... Lord Third, you're so fast!" the small ninja exclaimed.
"Nara-Raikage" straightened up, his expression serious. "Do you remember what I told you?"
The small ninja's cheerful expression vanished, replaced by a cold, professional mask. "We have reached a temporary truce with Konoha, but due to our losses, our village must pay a large amount in reparations. As the new Two-Tails Jinchuriki, I will be 'stationed' with Konoha's top ninja, the Shadow of Darkness, to 'learn' from him, while secretly 'gathering intel' and 'mastering the Tailed Beast's true power'."
"Be prepared," "Nara-Raikage" said, ruffling the child's hair.
"Samui."
