The air within the Vault Core turned heavier, colder—like every breath dragged Kael closer to a place no light could reach. His pulse pounded in his ears, but he stood motionless, one hand still raised from the obelisk's touch.
The memory still echoed behind his eyes: a god betrayed, its curse bleeding into the world, its vengeance taking root in the form of the Echo. But there had been something more—deeper, buried far below.
"Kael?" Selene's voice, soft and cautious.
He blinked, awareness snapping back. "It's not over. That seal isn't just holding memories. There's something still alive beneath it. Something that wants out."

In its core hovered a heart of burning void.

The ground split apart beneath the petrified tree, a geyser of ash and flame erupting upward. From within it rose the manifested Flame Father—twice the height of a man, his body forged from molten chains and armor etched with symbols of a dead pantheon.

The Flame Father let out a roar, sending pillars of fire bursting in all directions. Selene was thrown back, crashing against a pillar.

Vaeloria appeared at her side instantly, hands glowing with restoration sigils.
"Stay up, beloved. We're not done yet."
Kael roared, flames coiling around his blade. He activated a surge from his system.

With a blinding dash, Kael reappeared above the Remnant, blade descending like a falling star.

Thalaria struck its shoulder, paralyzing one arm.
