It's an excited day for SHIELD, as the teams work to launch Project Insight. People work on their computers, and it's only 2:09:00 on the clock. As then... over the intercom a voice goes off.
"Attention, all SHIELD agents. This is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days, some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was, it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want: absolute control. They shot Nick Fury and it won't end there. If you launch those Helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high, it always has been, and it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not."
Crews look up from their desks, confused at Captain America's voice. Then... one man in the control room denies to launch it. As... one of those on the STRIKE team... points his gun at the man's head... and everyone else's guns go up.
All around SHIELD headquarters in DC, fights between SHIELD and HYDRA are ongoing. As Pierce orders the Helicarriers to be launched now. A panic goes through the facility. Guns go off, people die, and HYDRA manages it... as the 3 hatches in the water open up, and 3 Helicarriers slowly rise, as Stark tech repulsors beam down from the 4 engines in each Helicarrier.
Ally runs with her hands beside her hips, in black pants, and a bulletproof vest. As she runs next to Captain and Sam. Out into the sun, as she sees the 3 Helicarriers lifting off.
Sam asks, "Cap, how we know good guys from the bad guys?"
Cap says, "IF they are shooting at you, they are bad. Keep on the assignment!"
Falcon/Sam jumps off a ledge, and flies off to his assigned carrier, Cap runs ahead into gunfire. As he enters a firefight, and Ally slows. Looking at the chaos, as she feels anxious, she should not be here. As Karlen says, "Sing." She sighs, and begins to sing a slow song. As she turns to the Helicarrier she has been assigned. With that small package on her hip, with that chip in it. She grits her teeth, and begins to sing. As she does, shadows slowly cover her finger, she throws off her black sunglasses, as her eyes spark with static. Then she begins to run. She knows how she is going to get on there. She hears from her comm Sam complaining about all the big guns firing at him. But she turns off comms, she needs focus. As she runs, and then... her legs, and body are covered in a mess of fog, as her body is lifted into a shadowy figure of a massive fox, that jumps... and then—*CHOMP*, a loud sound of metal tearing, as an 8m across fox made of glitching black fog latches onto the metal of one of the Helicarriers. Only holding on with its teeth. As it swings its body around with a move that is impossible for a creature with bones, and the fog fades.
As Ally breathes heavily... holding on for dear life on the shaking metal she now is on top of. Then... she gets up carefully, as she begins to sing, as she focuses... and then... as a gunshot is fired... it clicks. As the gunshot is a meter ahead of her, a spark of static swallows it. As then... footsteps... a crowd of them, sound from her eyes. As the static pulses with the marching beat they make. As then... music starts... emitting from... her eyes, as shadows form around her as she walks. Showing the cartoonish shadow foxes playing instruments. As she marches, as a trombone goes off, and an old-timey jazz begins to play in sync to the loud marching feet. As all other sounds nearby... seem to get quieter. Even the wind slows. As she steps one step at a time, with an almost army-like pose. Like a man going to war. The trumpet solo, and other instruments emitting from her continue. As men on the runway above begin to fire at her, utterly confused, as the bullets disappear in a burst of static, shifted into the fox realm, and how the hell she is walking calmly on a vibrating, metal part, near the edge of the Stark-tech repulsors that most men could only crawl across. Then... she sings.
"What can be done when the world has lost its class?;
Wrecking ships for love of all things fast!"
Her voice... sounds electronic... almost as though put through a radio. But it's far too loud, as her movements become less... trained, more dynamic as she walks, and moves her arms to the tune. Even twirling on the vibrating engine with not a single slip. As bullets fire at her, and disappear mid-air. All the guards... are just fucking freaked out. As their loud guns... are barely making a sound, and this music is loud in their ears, through ear protection, and helmets. As reports rapidly reached those controlling the Helicarriers, and... they had no idea what to make of it. Many just paused... and said, "Did I hear that right?" Then she sings more, as shadowy ears form, animated perfectly in the real world. With Disney-like fur. Along with a tail. As she walks in time with the beat, singing,
"Though culture slows this, need for speed avails!"
As her head tilts at the men, looking them in the eyes, targeting them. As she bends down, in a pounce, as her form glitches with more black figures, as several shadow cartoon foxes form on walls, and all around them, and all say,
"So burn the coal and stow the sails!"
At the same time, in sync, as she jumps at a beat drop over 30m. She lands. As she slowly gets up, and the shadow foxes on all the walls, and boxes, and their own shadows are gone. Bullets continue to fire rapidly, by the scared-to-their-wits men. As she gets up slowly, with no sign of concern, singing, as her sharp animalistic eyes glow at static, watching them. As she sings,
"We point to progress with the hope it will distract..."
She half-stands up,
"From crimes against the wisdom of the past!" Getting up slowly, she then stands suddenly, as she dances to the beat, and with her vocals.
"Now, stacks, of, smoke, and ash, are casting, trails!" Then all the shadows come to life, as shadow foxes, animated on boxes, and floors, with glowing purple eyes, and teeth say in harmony with her, as she smiles wide, and creepily,
"Where the air had once prevailed!" Despite the universal fear... all the soldiers seem unable to react, stuck in a freeze of fear. As one... slowly snaps out of it, they throw a grenade at her. It lands as everyone else snaps out, and moves backward, and calls for backup rapidly, but their own voices feel weak, and are shaking in fear. The grenade rolls to her feet, as it blows. But the music does not stop, instead, they see the entire grenade be sucked into her form, as she walks out of the smoke cloud with firm, military-like yet musical steps. Her entire body seems made of static, with only her eyes and mouth glowing with a void, as if her body was inverted. Her features are more fox-like than before, like something between fox and woman, with digitigrade legs, and a small snout. As she sings in time,
"So tell me what do we need with the suuuun!?" As shadow foxes emerge, and float around on the walls, singing the harmony with her.
"Now we have an electric one!" They sing electric one in harmony, the shadow foxes are staying around. One in the background is playing a keyboard, and another is playing other instruments. But the majority are just watching the guards from the boxes and floors of the Helicarrier landing strip. As she walks forward in time.
"To melt every shadow away; Turn the night into day!
So give a shout of 'Farewell!'; Now we know we can build it ourselves;
But Oh! We stared so long
We forgot we were human!"
It goes into an instrumental, with on every second beat all the foxes going 'yay!' As then... attacks begin, as the nearby guards' eyes go static, and they freeze in place. As the shadow foxes bite them casually, and seem to drag their shadows into her body. The shadows of the men are missing, as they freeze, and their bodies continue standing, frozen in place. As their eyes glow with static. As the solo goes on. She walks, and dances, she breaks a door open, and eventually begins to walk through the hallways within the Helicarrier, as all guards who pass the corner to reach her freeze, shadows stolen. As she begins to sing, walking with a steady rhythm. Her body now mostly human once more. Beyond the shadow ears, tail, and static glowing eyes.
"We stand on shoulders of the giants of before..." She sings, as those in the control room watch live footage, that is not even glitching much, just watching all the illusions, and shadow foxes.
"But unlike them we see beyond the shore..." As they yell orders in a panic, the music has not reached them, but they can hear it loudly through the audio recordings of the cameras. The IR cameras show the shadow foxes on the wall... creepily have a human-level body heat. As her body as well emits the same heat. As she casually, calmly walks through, navigating to the targeting grid.
"The World's gateway, we play a game of chase!" She sings, as she stands in front of a blockade, with guns firing constantly at her. On time with an RPG firing, the room goes dark, as shadow foxes all sing in sync,
"On the bit to win the race!" As they all laugh, and celebrate, as they bite, and tear down the blockade, while causing several men to glow with static eyes. Unresponsive.
"What do you need with these vanities and charms?
Sell your fineries and take arms!
And at the front these funds will guarantee!" As she walks calmly through the broken-down barricade, a few guards had not had their shadows stolen. As she walks unaffected by the RPG, beyond the fact her body became mostly static to block the blow. Then, all the shadow foxes sing:
"Allied victory!"
"So tell me what do we need with the sun?
Now we have an electric one!
To melt every shadow away; Turn the night into day!" She sings, with occasional harmony from the shadow foxes, as they protect her, dragging shadows of their victims into her static glowing form. As she walks calmly through the hallways, singing.
"So give a shout of 'Farewell!'; Now we know we can build it ourselves;
But Oh! We stared so long; We forgot we were human!"
She extends the 'human' out, as she sings loudly. As in time, the shadow foxes force the reinforced door to access the area for the chip to be inserted. As she twirls, singing loudly. As the shadow foxes take over, singing various verses of the song in the background. A shadow fox pulls down the slider, as she puts it in. Then the music cuts, as it slides closed. As she suddenly slouches over, as the shadow foxes fade from view, their heat signatures disappearing. As then... a flash of light, and every single person with static eyes disappears in a flash of static, and leaves burn marks on the ground. As in time, she shudders, and holds her head. As she breathes heavily.
Then... slowly, a shaking guard... turns the corner... and fires into her head. She grunts in pain, her eyes go wide. As time almost freezes. As some light blood leaks from the gunshot wound on the back of her head. As she shudders... as static crackles, and covers the wound. It clearly hit... but yet... it did not kill her.
She growls loudly... animalistically. As she turns... all rationality in her eyes is gone... as she breathes... standing there. Eyes glowing with stronger static than what was in the song. The soldier... pisses his pants, then and there. He mutters,
"Fuck..."
