Chapter 6 - Chapter Five

Son of a tofu! I nearly had a heart attack when someone suddenly grabbed my hand. Ugh, it was that scoundrel. Why did he follow me? I thought he was enjoying himself with that vixen in there? The way she clung to him, you'd think she was his girlfriend!"

"You walk so fast, I had to run to catch up," he said.

"Who told you to follow me, sir?" I snapped, annoyed.

"You're so grumpy, are you on your period?" he retorted.

"What do you care? We're not close, and please let go of my hand." I said sharply, and he released my hand.

"Sorry about what Rachel said earlier, I don't know why she acted like that."

I rolled my eyes. "So? I don't care what she said. I don't have time to waste on unimportant people," I said honestly.

"I have my car, I'll take you home. It's already dark, look." He offered.

I checked the time. "Shit!!! It's already eight o'clock?!" Was I really in there that long? Mom's going to kill me!

"Oh, fine! Just take me home." I had no choice! I needed to get home immediately.

While we were in the car, I couldn't relax, especially since I had already received many missed calls from my mom and texts from my brother. When we arrived home, I peered through the car window to see if Mom was outside, and sure enough, she was waiting by the front door.

As I got out, Mom's lecture was cut short when she saw Troy also get out of the car.

"Oh, it's you, young man. So you were with my daughter," she said, sounding puzzled. I bit my lower lip.

"Good evening, Auntie, I just drove your daughter—" For some unknown reason, I immediately covered Troy's mouth, afraid he might say something and slip up. I didn't want my family to know I'd been to a bar.

"Sorry, Mom, my friend invited me to dinner, so it took me a while to get home." I lied, but she wasn't convinced.

"How did you two meet?" Mom asked.

Oh, shoot, right. I stepped on Troy's foot as a signal for him not to speak.

"Ah, well, I was on my way home, and he just happened to pass by and saw me, so he gave me a ride, hehe." I'm such a good liar, damn it, I deserve 'Best Liar of the Year'!

"Oh, alright, go inside. Thank you for bringing my daughter home, young man," my mother said.

"You're welcome, Auntie," the scoundrel said politely. Hey! He's calling my mom 'Auntie' quite often now, isn't he?

"Oh, alright, I'll go inside first. You follow soon, Melie," my mother said.

Once mom was inside, I glared at Troy. "Good thing you kept your mouth shut," I said sharply.

"You're scared of your mom, aren't you?" he teased.

"I'm not scared! I just don't want her to know I went there." He chuckled softly.

"Don't deny it, Mary, you were obviously scared of your mom." That English! It's annoying, why am I so impressed by this scoundrel's accents?

"Oh, shut up, please!" I said, annoyed, and he just smiled at me.

"Anyway, your hand smells good," he added, winking at me. What the hell! I was suddenly speechless when I remembered I had just covered his mouth with my hand.

"I guess, see you tomorrow then," he said, and I quickly recoiled as he rapidly approached me and... kissed me briefly on the cheek?!!!!!

Shittt!!!

He quickly turned around and got into his car. I was stunned for a moment. And what did he say? He plans to see me tomorrow?

I watched his car drive away until it disappeared from my sight, and I couldn't get over him kissing my cheek! That shameless guy! Why did he kiss me?! He's so flirty!
