Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Welcome to Nyros

POV: Narrator

It was early morning, and the sun was just beginning to crawl across the horizon. Suddenly, a golden vortex appeared at the top of a hill near a vast city. From within the swirling light, Prometheus emerged, staggering slightly as his eyes quickly scanned the landscape around him.

When he looked toward the city, his jaw dropped. His eyes sparkled with awe at the grand metropolis that stretched before him. Towering buildings reached for the sky, covered in glowing runes that pulsed with energy. In the sky, flying vehicles glided smoothly, sharing the airspace with winged creatures that looked like they had stepped out of legends.

Prometheus took a deep breath, still trying to process what he was seeing. It was a scene so far removed from the reality he once knew, it felt almost impossible. He sat down, trying to collect his thoughts. That's when he felt something beneath his hand—a bag. Surprised, he carefully opened it and found a map and a device that resembled a phone.

Curious, he picked up the device, but before he could analyze it, the screen shone brightly. Before he could understand what was happening, the object dissolved into purple particles and vanished before his eyes. Prometheus flinched, stunned.

Suddenly, a female voice echoed in his mind. He looked around, alarmed, but soon a holographic screen appeared in front of him, transcribing the words from the voice.

[Welcome, Prometheus. Nyros System, partial version, is now active.]

Prometheus blinked a few times, still unable to believe what was happening.

"This… is this real?" he murmured, still trying to find the source of the voice.

[Yes. It is real. The System is here to guide you.]

The screen automatically adjusted, displaying new information. This time, it showed Prometheus's own stats.

HP: 80

Endurance: 8

Strength: 7

Knowledge: 5

Logic: 5

Agility: 7

Magic: 50

Tech: 50

POV: Prometheus

I stared at the screen, completely shocked. Mentally, I recalled all those stories where protagonists were guided by systems like this.

As if reading my mind, the voice answered:

[These are your initial stats. You might wonder if Logic and Knowledge are the same. They are not. Knowledge is tied to magic: the number of spells you can learn, their effectiveness and power all depend on this stat. Logic, on the other hand, is linked to Tech—an energy connected to technology. Both have distinct yet complementary functions.]

I looked at my hand and, for the first time, noticed a small device embedded under the skin.

"This… was in my hand the whole time?"

[Yes. The chip is already integrated into your body.]

While I was still trying to process that, the screen changed, showing only a blank display.

[It seems the map isn't integrated into the system. There's a physical map nearby. Would you like to integrate it?]

The map from the bag began to glow with a violet light. I hesitated, then nodded. Instantly, the map vanished into sparkling particles, and the system screen updated to display a detailed view of the continent.

[This is the map of Nyros. The continent is divided into four regions: Technological, Magical, Null, and Mixed. You are currently in a Mixed Zone, a place where technology and magic coexist in balance. The city you see ahead is called Roma—the beating heart of this world.]

I looked at the city once again, now understanding a bit more about it. The contrast between the modern and the magical was so fascinating, it felt surreal.

"So... Eryos wasn't lying when he said this world looked like Europe. This is... incredible."

A new notification appeared on the screen.

[The system requests permission to integrate the bag. Do you accept?]

Again, I nodded. The bag began to glow, and its contents were transferred into the system. The interface changed once more, revealing what looked like a digital inventory.

Inventory:

Grade C Health Potions (x2)

Iron Sword (Rank D)

Iron Armor Set (Rank D)

500 Nyr

Pouch with 10 Mana Stone

"500 Nyr? What's that?" I asked, scanning the items.

[Nyr is the unified currency of all Nyros regions. Here, in the Mixed Zone, the local name is Nyrith (N¥). One Nyr is equivalent to about two dollars in your previous currency.]

"So, 500 Nyr would be... a thousand dollars?"

[In theory, yes. But keep in mind: a common worker earns about 250 Nyr a month. What you have is just enough to get started. I suggest you find a way to earn more.]

POV: Narrator

Now armed with more information and the Nyros System as a guide, Prometheus took a deep breath. The anxiety he had felt since arriving began to fade, replaced by a renewed sense of purpose. He stared out at the city in the distance, imagining what awaited him.

"Alright... Let's start exploring this world," he murmured, a glint in his eyes.

"I'll show that god I'm more than he thinks I am."

His journey in Nyros had only just begun.
