The Day Of The Meltdown...
"Let the world crash and burn. As the tides turn. Let it be my turn to make them burn"
The class teacher should have known something was wrong when Rix came to school earlier than his classmates and sat so quietly, and after greeting him. Of course the teacher hadn't responded, as usual, but Rix didn't shrug as he usually did when his greetings went ignored.
Rix was quiet, sitting straight in his seat, barely making any moves and staring out the window, almost like in a trance, his attention barely shifting from what he was looking at outside, even when the teacher coughed pointedly, trying to guess what was wrong.
The sound of approaching students caught the teacher's attention and he quickly shifted it from the black sheep to the coming students, the real sheep, in the town's opinion, that is.
Rix didn't deserve to be shunned by the entire populace of a town over the assumptions of obnoxious brats and annoying child bullies who were coddled by parents who valued age long, outdated values than actual human rights.
He knew Richard was suffering, although not physically, since he didn't have bruises of or scars, at least in places that could be seen, but it would be another story if one thought about his mental health, ostracization took a toll on people, and children, teenagers, were even more vulnerable to the lasting effects on the mental health.
He pitied Rix but he needed to protect himself, after all, it wouldn't do to lose his job over an outcast child no one wanted anything to do with.
He'd rather take the side of his employers and the townsfolk.
And besides, Rix was also pretty much at fault too for being so quiet and timid most of the time. The kid really needed to toughen up too.
"Hey, the faggot is early today, haha", Robin, it was definitely Robin, with his obnoxiously loud voice, who was the first to arrive in class and a few students behind him were snickering as he spoke and for the first time in the hour that Rix had first arrived in class, he turned away from looking out the window to stare at his classmates and the teacher could feel a chill run down his spine at the look on the boy's face.
Rix blinked slowly, his gaze was uninterested, dull and lifeless but something unidentifiable flashed in those lifeless looking eyes for a second and was gone immediately as soon as it had shown itself. Literally flashed like a streak of lightning.
"Careful, Andy, the fag's looking your way. Wouldn't wanna get raped for real this time, right?", Robin cackled, clapping a quiet, slightly huge, raven on the back.
Robin's father was the mayor of the town and Andy's father worked under Robin's father and what Robin had hinted at was the unfortunate incident that had happened in the locker room barely two weeks ago that led to Rix getting suspended.
No matter how the teacher looked at it, the story was far from credible because no matter how strong they make out Rix to be, there was no way he could overpower and pin down a guy as big as Andy who was taller and more built than Rix and Andy never had any interactions with Rix for fear of getting on Robin's bad side.
But the story that had gotten out was that Rix had assaulted his classmate, because he was found on top of Andy, with a black eye and Andy with his clothes ripped in certain suspicious places and no one listened to Rix. His father had been Emailed and called and Rix just went from faggot to rapist in a matter of hours.
"Alright, let's take our seats and get some reading done",the teacher was quick to quiet the students down, the ones that had made it to the morning assembly and were now in the class for first period on Fridays which was always literature.
There were two empty seats today but the teacher couldn't care less since the students usually liked to skip Friday classes
The sound of snickers and snorts was a little bit louder today but he'd sooner bite his tongue than turn back, one look at Rix during times like this would make his resolve crumble and he'd side with the boy and the result would be far from pretty for him.
"Fuck!", the scream and the ear-grating sound of a desk scraping against the floor made the teacher turn around in time to see Rix, out of his seat and straddling Robin who had a fountain pen stabbed clean through his mouth, from one cheek and bursting out through the other side, and another in one thigh while someone tried to keep Rix from stabbing the loud mouthed brat in the eye.
The teacher had half a mind to let it happen but the screaming girls were enough to keep him from letting it continue.
"That's enough, Richard", the teacher is rushing towards the struggling boys, awed that Rix is actually stronger than he looks, and pulling the pen out of his hand and picking up the boy and keeping his arms trapped at his sides.
"Feels good huh, Robin?! Shoulda stabbed the pen through your throat instead, loud mouthed bastard!", the look in his eyes is manic but the excitement the teacher picks up from Richard's voice is nearly unnoticeable as the sight of the tears running down his cheeks makes the teacher doubt what he'd heard from Richard's voice.
"Nine years, bastard! I had to swallow up your bullshit for nine years! And it's probably more than that if you count all the times you tripped me as a child!", Rix is screaming and still struggling in the teachers grasp,
"This fucking faggot!", a random kid growls, his name was probably Joseph, and rushes in, punching Rix in the stomach and the teacher has to steel himself in case the punch affects him as well but Rix only bends at the waist and coughs painfully before he's straightening again and headbutting the boy, making him yell in agony.
"Brenda, go get the nurse! Andy, help me get Rix out of this class now!", the teacher barks out and Brenda flinches but bolts out of the class and rushes to do as she's told while Andy approaches Rix and the teacher.
"Don't you dare touch me! Fucking liar! Fuck did Robin threaten you with, that you made me into a rapist, huh, Andy?!", Rix is kicking and screaming but the teacher and Andy manage to contain him and get him out of the class.
Andy gives up his scarf which is used to tie Rix's hands behind his back before he's shoved into a cab and taken home where only his mother and sister are home.
Rix is kicking all the way, voice muffled by the teacher clamping a hand over his mouth while Andy holds his legs to keep him from hurting anyone or himself too.
"Hands off, bastards! You're not even a teacher, watching a student get bullied and harassed just to keep your damn job!", Rix knows he's being insensitive but he can't help it, all the bottled up rage spilling out of him, even though his voice is muffled, he's certain the teacher heard him because the grip on his mouth is tighter now.
"Shut up, brat", the teacher hissed, grabbing the boys mouth harshly, he understands the boy but the anger boiling in him is just too much and he'd rather not sympathise with the boy in front of a townsfolk.
"You'll understand better when you're a grown up but just know that before you make sacrifices, you have to think about consequences and benefits. I won't sacrifice my livelihood for one snotty, outcast brat that's being bullied finally teetering on the edge of insanity", the teacher releases his mouth harshly.
"Then you're nothing but a heartless coward. No, heartless is giving you too much of a description. You're a real piece of shit. A real human specimen, work of art even"
