"What's that supposed to mean?" Felix asks, his smug expression wavering slightly.
"Nothing. Just that Scarlett makes her own choices."
"Right. And when she makes the smart choice, don't say I didn't warn you."
Through the glass, I can see Scarlett still modeling products on camera. The disgusting comments continue flooding the stream from Felix's army of fake accounts.
"She looks uncomfortable," I observe.
Felix glances through the partition and shrugs. "She'll get used to it. This is how the business works."
"By making women feel like objects?"
"By giving customers what they want. Sex sells. Always has, always will."
"So you're going to keep posting those comments."
"I'm going to keep doing my job. Which is driving engagement and sales."
His fingers move back to the phones. Within seconds, new messages appear on the live stream.
"I want to taste that lipstick."
"She's perfect for midnight activities."
"Forget the makeup, show us more skin."
