Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Kushina

The students in the entire examination room looked at the bold woman, somewhat puzzled. In the crucial place of the ninja examination, there was still someone who would act like this.

Then, a scene that made their jaws drop appeared. The examiner, who seemed cold and stern to them, was like a cat seeing a tiger in front of this woman.

"Kushina-sensei, there are still 40 groups left," the examiner quickly said.

"Still so many? Usually, not that many people are left in the Chunin Exams." Uzumaki Kushina frowned.

"This time is different. Besides Konoha, the other four great ninja villages have all come to Konoha for the Chunin Exams," the examiner quickly explained.

"Those ninja villages didn't put all their strength into it," Kushina looked at the ninjas sitting in their seats. "Besides, what are the four great ninja villages doing here? It's not like we don't know."

"Is it because of the Kazekage incident?" The examiner asked cautiously.

"That's just one aspect." Uzumaki Kushina waved her hand, looking at the students. "Alright, congratulations on entering the next stage of the test. Now you will enter the next round of the test. Everyone, follow me."

"Let's go, Anko, Kijin," Ten'en stood up from his seat. The next round of the test was about to begin.

Subsequently, all the ninjas who passed the written test followed Uzumaki Kushina and left the 15 examination rooms. They headed towards a certain direction in Konoha.

A moment later.

Everyone saw a dense forest, and outside the forest, countless iron gates with chains hung on them, also displaying "No Entry" signs.

"Alright, everyone, you've seen the forest in front of you, right?" Uzumaki Kushina said. "This is Training Ground 44, also known as the Forest of Death. It's full of dangers, and it's where you'll be tested."

"I'll explain the rules of this test to you. The 40 teams will each receive 20 Heaven Scrolls and 20 Earth Scrolls. Each team will randomly receive one scroll. This means that only by collecting both a Heaven Scroll and an Earth Scroll can you pass the test."

"At the same time, this test will last for five days. Passing the test means reaching the tower inside the Forest of Death."

Hearing this, many students discussed amongst themselves. To collect both Heaven and Earth Scrolls, it meant at most only 20 teams could pass the test. But everyone believed that it was impossible for exactly 20 teams.

Some might get more, and some might not find any, so there definitely wouldn't be 20 teams.

"I see." Ten'en nodded. It wasn't much different from what he expected.

Many ninjas present showed confident smiles, as they were the cream of the crop from various ninja villages. As for the ninjas from smaller villages who passed the written test, they looked somewhat uneasy.

"Then, everyone present, please first sign the consent form in my hand," Uzumaki Kushina said, holding a stack of papers in her hand, with a somewhat sinister tone. "Those who are afraid can give up, because after signing the consent form, your life and death will be your own responsibility."

"In other words, you might die," Uzumaki Kushina said coldly.

Hearing this, Ten'en yawned, feeling somewhat speechless at Uzumaki Kushina's attempt to play the villain.

Looking at Uzumaki Kushina's stiff expression, he felt a bit awkward.

"Brat, I'm talking to you." Uzumaki Kushina flashed behind Ten'en and placed a kunai on Ten'en's face.

"Kushina-sensei, I just feel a bit bored. Don't worry, I'll make sure there are far fewer people here." Ten'en scanned the surrounding ninjas.

Many ninjas showed angry expressions. Is this Konoha ninja looking down on them?

"Besides, Kushina-sensei, you seem a bit unfamiliar with being an examiner. Is this your first time?" Ten'en said calmly.

"Even if you are a Konoha ninja, I can still teach you a lesson," Uzumaki Kushina said.

"Then I really want to see it." Ten'en's voice sounded again from the other side. Ten'en's figure turned into a cloud of smoke in front of Kushina.

"Shadow Clone, when did he..." Uzumaki Kushina's pupils slightly contracted.

Subsequently, all the participating ninjas signed the consent form, then received their scrolls from the other examiners. Each team entered through a different gate, so as not to encounter other ninjas too quickly.

"Shizune, Kurenai, be careful." Fang Lin watched the two and their companion enter the Forest of Death.

"We will," Shizune and Kurenai immediately vanished from the spot.

A moment later.

"Anko, Kijin, let's go in," Ten'en greeted his companions, then dashed into the Forest of Death.

Watching Ten'en's disappearing back, Uzumaki Kushina murmured, "He's the genius Minato spoke of. But why do I feel a sense of closeness to him, as if he were my own clan member?"

"No, that's impossible." Uzumaki Kushina quickly shook her head. She knew her ninja village had been destroyed.

Inside the Forest of Death.

Ten'en and the others continuously moved through the ancient, towering trees, steadily advancing towards the center.

"Ten'en, what kind of scroll do we have?" Anko asked.

"Earth Scroll," Ten'en said.

"Then we're only missing the Heaven Scroll," Anko nodded.

"Yes, we only need the Heaven Scroll to complete the mission," Ten'en chuckled. "Have you found anything?"

Ten'en's gaze suddenly shifted.

"Found them." Uchiha Kijin and Mitarashi Anko's figures stopped.

At the same time, from all directions, countless shuriken attacked Ten'en and the others. With such a dense attack, they didn't even have space to dodge.

"Thump, thump." Countless shuriken directly pierced into Ten'en and the others' bodies, and Anko and Kijin were no exception. But strangely, all three still wore smiles.

Three Iwagakure ninjas appeared here, and one of them smiled coldly, "So useless. I thought they were really strong..."

Before one of the Iwagakure ninjas could finish speaking, Ten'en and the others directly turned into tree stumps.

Substitution Jutsu.

"Not good." The Iwagakure ninja's expression changed.

Suddenly, three beams of light pierced through the bodies of the three Iwagakure ninjas.

Then, Ten'en's figure appeared, holding a long blade. He lightly swung it and put it away.

The three Iwagakure ninjas' bodies directly split in two and fell.

"Ten'en, not so fast. We haven't even fought yet," Anko said. She wasn't afraid of this scene; after all, Anko had killed many people when doing missions together.

"These three are too useless," Ten'en said.

"You're too strong," Anko said grumpily.

"It's an Earth Scroll." Uchiha Kijin rummaged through the dead ninjas. There was a scroll, but it was an Earth Scroll.

"Take it, let's continue forward. There are many teams that entered before us." Ten'en showed a smile.

The three instantly vanished from the spot, leaving only three dead Iwagakure ninjas lying quietly there.
