Chapter 9: Storm in the Heart and the Sea
Morning on the Freedom Wave
The sun had barely risen above the horizon when the crew was already on their feet. Katsuro stood at the helm, feeling the slight chill of the morning wind. His thoughts were torn between the upcoming reconnaissance and the feeling of ever-increasing responsibility.
"It's going to be hot today," Luffy said with a smile, running up to him. "Ready?"
"Ready," Katsuro replied, gripping the helm.
Reconnaissance and an Unexpected Encounter
The crew headed for one of the small islands of Eastern Blue. The plan was simple - reconnoiter the area and check out rumors of traders who might have important resources.
"Remember, caution is our main weapon," Nami warned, handing out maps.
Soon, the group noticed smoke in the distance - a sign of a busy camp.
"We'll see," Katsuro said quietly.
As they approached, armed men suddenly came out to them - a local gang that did not want to see strangers.
Fight in the forest
The fight broke out suddenly. Katsuro felt the Vein boiling in his veins, filling his body with strength.
"Protect Nami!" he shouted, blocking the enemy's blow.
Zoro and Luffy fought in unison, and Nami used agility and cunning to avoid blows.
"Katsuro, be careful!" Nami shouted when one of the enemies tried to attack him from behind.
He dodged and, using a special Vein technique, incapacitated the enemy.
After the fight - exchanging thoughts
When the dust of battle settled, the crew gathered together.
"You fight well," Nami praised, smiling. "But there is still much to learn."
"Thank you," he replied, feeling the trust growing between them.
Shadows of the Navy
Meanwhile, watching from afar, the naval officers took more notes.
"He's still not a threat," one of them said. "But his influence is growing."
"We're watching him closely," the captain replied. "If he gets too strong, we'll have to act."
Evening Silence
In the evening, while the crew was resting, Katsuro spoke quietly to Nami.
"Have you ever thought about what will happen next?" he asked.
"Every day," she replied. "But together we're stronger."
He smiled and felt like he was finally starting to find his place in this world.
