Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 {Best Friends}

May nodded, her heart heavy as she made her way out of the mansion. Samantha's words echoed in her mind, and she couldn't shake the feeling of unease. As she walked through the gates, she heard Samantha's voice once more.

"Oh, and May? Don't forget what I said about the lottery ticket. Tomorrow, at 3:01 PM. You'll thank me later."

May paused, turning back to look at the mansion. Samantha was standing at the window, her golden eyes piercing through the glass. May gave a small nod before turning and walking away, her mind racing with questions.

Back inside, Samantha turned to Cutie Pie, a smug smile on her face.

"There, that should stir up some drama. May will either think I'm crazy or that I'm trying to help her in some twisted way."

Samantha emerged from her room, dressed in the outfit she had chosen. The fluffy pink skirt swished around her legs, contrasting sharply with the white and blue blouse and vest jacket. She looked like a picture of innocence and elegance, but her golden eyes held a mischievous glint.

She made her way downstairs, her heels clicking on the marble floor. As she entered the dining room, she found her father sitting at the head of the table, engrossed in a newspaper. He looked up as she approached, his eyes widening slightly at her appearance.

This man is Richard and the heroine biological father and the woman who is wearing a summer dress is Emilia she is the heroine biological mother. These two people never cared for her at all as long as she doesn't ruin their reputations they don't care. As for the 11 year old boy Jasper that's her brother and the other girl who is on her phone is Jessica. These people are all the heroine biological family. All four them treat her with indifference.

"Where are you going?" Jessica asked as she stood up and frowned. Samantha chuckled and crossed her arms and moved closer.

"Should I tell mom and dad that you have a boyfriend," Samantha asked and Jessica clenched her jaw and huffed off.

Outside

Samantha slid into the backseat of the luxurious car, her pink skirt fanning out around her. As the driver pulled away from the mansion, she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The oppressive atmosphere of her socalled family home was suffocating, and she was eager to escape it, even if only for a few hours.

The car ride was smooth and uneventful, and before long, they arrived at the bustling mall. Samantha stepped out, her eyes scanning the crowd for her two best friends. She spotted them near the fountain, engaged in animated conversations.

One was Lily Taylor, a petite girl with fiery red hair and emerald green eyes. The other was Olivia White, a tall, slender blonde with piercing blue eyes. Both girls were from wealthy families, much like Samantha's own, but unlike her, they actually cared about her as a person.

As Samantha approached, Lily's face lit up with a genuine smile.

"Sam! There you are! We were starting to think you'd stood us up."

Olivia rolled her eyes goodnaturedly.

"As if. Samantha would never miss a chance to shop."

Samantha laughed, the sound genuine and warm. Samantha stuck her tongue out.

"Hehe Lily your birthday is three days I will give your gifted today," Samantha said after all after three days she will no longer but a heiress but a daughter from the slums she did not say that out loud did not want to dump the mood.

Lily clapped her hands excitedly, her emerald eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Really? Oh, Sam, you didn't have to! But I'm so curious to see what you got me."

Olivia grinned, linking her arm with Samantha's.

"Come on, let's go find something to eat first. I'm starving."

As the three girls made their way through the mall, Samantha couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. These moments with her friends were precious, and she knew they wouldn't last forever. Soon, she would be cast out, left to fend for herself in the unforgiving slums.

But she pushed those thoughts aside, determined to enjoy the present. She smiled at her friends, her golden eyes shining with affection.

"You know what? Let's make today memorable. No holding back, no limits. Whatever we want, we get."

Lily and Olivia exchanged glances, then burst out laughing.

"Now you're talking!" Olivia exclaimed.

"Olivia you spend more money on heels than anything else!" Lily and Samantha said.

"Hey Lily is a makeup girl spends makeup like crazy and designer purses!" Olivia said and Samantha laughed.

"Hey Sam you spend it on food! If there is a rich girl who spends money on food it's you! I swear you spend more money on food than anything else!" Olivia said. Samantha touched her flat stomach. Samantha was only 5'4 but she was also extremely beautiful.

"What I am always hungry."

The three girls spent the afternoon indulging in their favorite pastimes. They ate at an upscale restaurant, ordering a variety of dishes to share. Samantha ate with gusto, her friends teasing her about her voracious appetite.

After lunch, they hit the shops, trying on clothes and accessories with abandon. Samantha bought Lily an expensive perfume and a designer purse for her birthday, while Olivia picked out a pair of stiletto heels that cost more than Samantha's monthly allowance.

As the sun began to set, the girls found themselves in a trendy cafe, sipping on elaborate coffee drinks. Samantha's golden eyes were shining with happiness, her cheeks flushed from the excitement of the day.

"So, what's next?" Lily asked, leaning back in her chair.

"We've shopped, we've eaten... any other grand plans?"

Samantha pulled out a small box for Lily and another box for Olivia.

"This gift I made myself with my own hand for Olivia it's something you always told me to design for you and always wished to make it into a dress, as for you it's a bracelet now open your gifts!" Samantha said.
