Chapter 90 - Chapter 89 – Council of Ash and Oath

The sun cast its light over Sanctum once more, not with the golden warmth of a summer day, but with the weary glow that followed after a world-altering storm.

Tzakaroth had fallen.

And yet, the world had only begun to move.

Iden stood before a long obsidian table inside the newly built Alliance Hall, the chamber resonating with low mana hums—walls etched with runic communications and screens displaying activity across the alliance network.

Behind him, a massive banner fluttered silently in the magically cooled air:

Sovereign Pact – Sanctum Concord One World, One Bone, One Stand.

Seated around him were representatives of the newest factions to answer the call.

The Skyhold Engineers, a cliff-side fortress of technomancers.

Emerald Furnace, a desert-forged warrior guild that rode sand wyrms.

Thal-Virad, a subterranean city-state once enslaved by the Abyss, now free.

They had seen the flames of Fallout. They had felt the mana shockwaves. And now, they came not to challenge—but to join.

"Sanctum doesn't rule," Iden said, voice steady, "We lead. You keep your lands. Your people. But we share blueprints. Defense formations. You'll get access to the Alliance Relay, teleportation anchors, and shared stores."

The Skyhold Archon leaned forward. "And in return?"

Iden glanced at the projection behind him: a map of the world, glowing with flickering red signals—unclaimed zones, corrupted domains, and flare spots.

"In return," Iden replied, "you fight when called. And we will bleed together when the world tries to burn again."

One by one, they nodded.

And with that, the Sovereign Concord was ratified.

While Iden worked through the diplomatic dance, Kael oversaw the rebuilding of the northern district, where the civilians had begun planting mana-touched crops. With new blueprints bought using shared RP from Fallout, irrigation networks and mana-storing silos were under construction.

Arlen had already designed three variants of low-mana automated defenses, blending runic code with railgun principles. They were distributed among allied settlements for replication.

Children could be heard laughing—playing in streets again, protected by walls guarded by elite skeletons and monitored by sentry drones hovering above.

Even the undead had moments of stillness.

Late that evening, on the edge of the Sanctum tower, Iden sat alone… until Nyra appeared beside him. She wore her usual half-smile, the wind tugging at her braid.

"They listened to you," she said softly. "You've become more than a summoner."

Iden glanced at her. "I didn't plan for it. I just did what I had to."

"Which is what makes them follow you," she replied. "And what makes me…"

She didn't finish that line. Instead, she slipped a scroll into his hand—an alliance proposal from a hidden faction called the Verdant Vale, masters of camouflage and ambush tactics, requesting to become Sanctum's vanguard force in exchange for sanctuary and tech.

"And Rael?" Iden asked, glancing at her, aware of what had unfolded recently.

Nyra smiled. "She's with Kael. I think… they've found something real."

Iden closed his eyes.

For a moment, he allowed himself to feel it. The calm after the storm. The comfort of people building instead of burying.

But he knew it wouldn't last.

Far away, in kingdoms untouched by the Abyss, eyes peered through enchanted mirrors. Whispers rose in halls of power.

"Who is this Iden?"

"His skeletons now evolve. His fortress glows with mana never seen before."

"A Warlord at his command… and a weapon that rivaled gods."

Some feared.

Others prepared.

And one—hidden in a palace submerged in the sea—smiled.

"Let the Sovereign grow," she murmured. "So he might fall more beautifully."

In the command chamber, Iden stood in silence, eyes fixed on the new world map glowing above his table.

A dozen allied regions pulsed with shared strength. Hundreds of summon beacons hummed below. New weapons stood ready.

But the storm wasn't over.

It was only the eye.

"Sanctum stands," Iden whispered."Let the world try again."
