The Soul Room within the Millennium Puzzle always accurately reflects the inner world of its holder. So, in Miles's Soul Room, aside from the basic essentials like a bed, chair, and table, there were initially only items related to competitive card games, which he had loved in life.
Over time, as he grew accustomed to the otherworldly life shared with Aisha, the room began to feature more Duel Monsters-related content.
Occasionally, strange objects from other worlds would also appear.
All of these came from Miles's subconscious, completely beyond his conscious control.
For instance, if Aisha read a book in the library that also piqued Miles's interest, that book would then show up in the Soul Room. Or a uniquely otherworldly handheld gaming console powered by magic crystal cores—Aisha's most treasured collectible, which Aisha usually would only take out to play briefly before bedtime.
When Miles saw it, he became fascinated by the magical structure of the console, and the very next day, an identical item appeared in the Soul Room.
These events helped Miles piece together a basic "rule" of the Soul Room:
Objects that Aisha physically touched and that also interested Miles would be placed into the Millennium Puzzle's Soul Room.
Fortunately, from Miles's observations, the Soul Room was large enough—or perhaps infinitely vast with no limits—therefore, no matter how many random items were added through this "rule," the room would never be filled.
Of course, all this applied only to "objects."
When living, breathing "people" began appearing in the Millennium Puzzle's Soul Room, even Miles was startled.
"Aisha? Why are you here?"
The girl standing before Miles was undoubtedly his host, Aisha Yuna Carlos.
"What's wrong, Mr. Miles? What do you mean, 'why am I here?'"
Yet the one answering was Aisha herself, currently controlling their shared body.
"Ah, no, never mind."
If Aisha hadn't entered the Soul Room of the Millennium Puzzle, then the one standing before him could only be...
"Aisha's dark side?"
Miles lowered his voice, trying to keep his thoughts from leaking, lest the real Aisha overhear.
Dark Aisha silently nodded.
"I knew it."
Just as Miles suspected.
Most likely, Aisha had become aware of her own inner darkness and accepted it, allowing that darkness to rise from the depths of her soul.
As for how Dark Aisha was able to appear inside the Millennium Puzzle's Soul Room…
Miles figured that awareness alone couldn't account for it.
After all, the Millennium Puzzle was still a Millennium Item. For something to influence its interior, only another Millennium Item could be responsible.
In other words…
The Millennium Key.
As the Millennium Item capable of opening soul doors, Miles concluded this was the root reason Dark Aisha could be here.
First, the Millennium Key gave her a tangible form. Then, it opened the Soul Room's doors so the accepted dark side could enter.
"Miles?" Dark Aisha asked.
"Yeah, it's me."
"First time meeting you. We're not very familiar."
Naturally so—Dark Aisha was born from Aisha Carlos's fear of being abandoned by everyone after dropping out.
On that timeline, Miles likely didn't exist.
…Miles couldn't help feeling awkward.
He never thought he'd have to face a version of Aisha who didn't know him at all.
And this Aisha's personality, twisted and withdrawn due to her past, was completely different from the usual cheerful, goofy Aisha.
Most importantly, Miles had never hosted a "guest" in his Soul Room before.
He had no idea what to do.
"Uh… want to sit down?"
Miles politely pushed the Soul Room's only chair toward her.
"No need."
Dark Aisha shook her head and scanned the room.
"It's too messy. I don't want to sit. It needs cleaning first."
"C-cleaning?"
Since the Soul Room was infinitely spacious, Miles had always just tossed things wherever after using them. As long as he could find them, it worked. Seemingly chaotic, but organized in his own way.
However, compared to Aisha's meticulously tidy dorm room, it was a total mess.
Only then did Miles remember—Aisha had a mild compulsion for room cleanliness.
Apparently, even her dark side shared that trait.
"Alright, go ahead and tidy up."
He sat in the chair, crossed his legs, and watched the quiet, withdrawn Dark Aisha obsessively organize cards scattered across the floor by type and effect, lining them neatly on the table.
"Eh? This vibe… could it be... the silent maid type?"
Meanwhile, in the ruined chamber, Aisha, after confirming that the exit had been completely blocked by rubble, shifted her attention to the giant hole above that led to the surface.
'Gotta figure out how to fly up there... Which monsters in my Deck can fly again…'
Most monsters in her duels didn't appear through flying.
After scanning her memory, the only option left seemed to be summoning Mokey Mokey again…
"?" Summoned outside of a duel, the little tofu block had a question mark over its head, staring blankly at Aisha.
"Help me out, pull me up there."
"!" The question mark turned into an exclamation mark. Mokey Mokey clearly understood.
It floated behind Aisha, grabbed her shoulders with its tiny hands, and flapped its barely useful mini wings hard.
"..."
Obviously, Mokey Mokey wasn't strong enough to lift her.
"Guess I'm not that heavy... If one's not enough, I'll just summon more. Mokey Mokey! Mokey Mokey!"
Summoning every Mokey Mokey in her Deck, Aisha was finally lifted—albeit wobbling and unsteady—up through the ceiling hole and returned to Fusion Academy's plaza.
Yet before she could fully land, still dangling from three Mokey Mokeys, Aisha's nervous gaze met the already-waiting Miss Erin.
"I knew it. Aisha Yuna Carlos, come to my office and explain yourself later."
"...Okay, Miss Erin."
