Two immense forces clashed—blood and snow colliding, fusing into a realm where no life could survive.
Neither could overpower the other.
Yet, behind the Snow Empress stood the God of Fate.
He leapt into the sky, rings of soul power expanding outward behind him. A colossal surge of energy gathered at the tip of the Icefire Dragon Spear!
With a self-sacrificial thrust, the spear tore through the heavens—
and the Shura Demon Puppet, which had been evenly matched with the Snow Empress, collapsed in an instant!
Flesh and blood exploded in every direction. Ye Xishui's body was flung violently to the ground, her skin split open with countless cracks, wounds so deep that bone showed through.
She struggled to rise, even though the effort only tore her wounds further apart.
"You can't kill me!" she screamed, her voice twisted with madness.
Seeing her deranged defiance, the God of Fate hurled the Icefire Dragon Spear once more.
But at that very moment, Long Xiaoyao suddenly appeared before Ye Xishui, blocking the strike for her!
The overwhelming force of the blow pierced straight through his heart. The mingled powers of ice and fire raged unrestrained within him, shattering his meridians and organs.
The God of Fate frowned slightly at the sight—but felt no pity.
He bore no great hatred for Long Xiaoyao. But since the man chose death of his own accord, he had only himself to blame.
"Xiaoyao!"
Ye Xishui cried out as she saw Long Xiaoyao shielding her with his body.
Kneeling on the ground, Long Xiaoyao coughed up mouthfuls of blood—dark crimson and thick, with shreds of flesh writhing within it.
"Xishui… go!" Long Xiaoyao turned his head with great effort, forcing the words out.
"Together! We'll go together!" Ye Xishui caught him as he wavered, her hands trembling. For a moment, her mind cleared—gone was the insanity from before.
The God of Fate said coldly, "Neither of you will leave here alive."
Long Xiaoyao looked toward the radiant, untainted figure of the God of Fate—so serene amid the blood-soaked rain—and knelt fully to the ground. His face had lost all color. In a hoarse, broken voice, he pleaded:
"Please… spare her! Even if you cripple her—let her live as an ordinary person!"
The God of Fate's voice was calm, but implacable.
"If we spare her, then who will spare the souls she slaughtered? How many vengeful spirits were sacrificed to build that Death God Tower? Hundreds? Thousands?"
Long Xiaoyao's life had been one of endless pursuit and endless loss.
But he was not to be pitied—and Ye Xishui even less so.
"No! Don't beg them!"
Ye Xishui clung to Long Xiaoyao, trying to pull him up. But his vitality had already slipped away; he was only standing through sheer will. Hearing the God of Fate's refusal, the light in his eyes dimmed… and never returned.
"Xiaoyao? Xiaoyao!"
Realizing his life was gone, Ye Xishui's expression twisted in unbearable grief. Though she had never once accepted his affection through all these years, she had long regarded Long Xiaoyao as the one who would stay by her side until the end of her life.
She had never imagined… that he would die before her eyes.
Blood trickled from his wound onto the Icefire Dragon Spear. The God of Fate frowned faintly, pulling the weapon free. Black and white flames burned along its shaft, consuming every trace of blood.
Without the spear plugging the wound, Long Xiaoyao's chest burst open in a spray of blood and shredded heart tissue.
Ye Xishui pressed her hands desperately against the wound, but the torrent of blood could not be stopped. It soaked her hands, her robes, and the ground around them. She pressed her own chest to his in vain, trying to stanch the flow.
Long Xiaoyao's blood ran dry.
Blood tears slipped from the corners of Ye Xishui's eyes.
Suddenly, brilliant flames erupted around her—pure, white-gold holy fire blazing into existence, engulfing her and Long Xiaoyao's bodies together.
"This… such a powerful Light attribute! Is that your power?" the Snow Empress exclaimed in surprise as she turned to the God of Fate. She remembered that neither Jiang Shengyu nor Jiang Qingtong possessed flames of this nature.
The God of Fate shook his head. His body shimmered with silver light, separating once more into Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong.
After the fierce battle with the Ultimate Douluo, their spirit power had been nearly exhausted—they could no longer sustain the merged form of the God of Fate. It seemed that only when both reached the true realm of Title Douluo could they maintain such a fusion for long.
Jiang Shengyu said to the Snow Empress, "That's Ye Xishui's own power.
In addition to her Blood Soul Puppet, she possesses another martial soul—the Light Phoenix."
"Yan Shaozhe of Shrek Academy… is her descendant," Jiang Qingtong added.
The Snow Empress's eyes flicked toward the blazing holy fire. She tried to disrupt the process, but found she could not interfere with this sacred flame—it was beyond her control. She could only watch and remark, "She's Yan Shaozhe's ancestor. Don't you plan to use that to your advantage?"
Jiang Shengyu shook his head. "No need."
There was no longer any point.
Even if the world learned that Yan Shaozhe descended from an Evil Soul Master, the three great nations of Douluo would never abandon the power of a Super Douluo for such a reason.
As the holy fire began to fade, Ye Xishui's wounds had completely vanished. This was the rebirth power of her Light Phoenix—a nirvana that allowed her to rise anew from the brink of death.
But for Long Xiaoyao, who was already gone, it could do nothing.
She cupped his lifeless face in her hands, gazing into the empty eyes that once burned with devotion.
The Snow Empress lifted her ice sword, ready to deliver the final strike—
—but from deep within the Evil Soul Forest, a far more terrifying power suddenly erupted!
The blood-red sky was driven back, dyed instead in hues of violet and blue.
A beam of world-devouring light descended upon Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao, engulfing them completely.
The vast energy peeled away their flesh inch by inch. Ye Xishui's body aged before their eyes—until only stark white bones remained.
The Light of Time and Space!
It was the Light of Time and Space!
Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong turned sharply toward the source of the beam—
and there, suspended in midair, stood a colossal being hundreds of meters tall. It gazed down upon them all from above—
"The Evil Emperor! That's the Evil Emperor!" cried Wang Yiheng, captain of the Evil Monarch Soul Engineer Legion, his voice trembling with excitement.
Their legion's banner bore the image of the Evil Emperor himself!
Moments later, Xie Lingling rushed out from the depths of the forest, panting heavily. She stopped before them and called out, "The Evil Emperor and I have come to help you!"
"Help?"
The Snow Empress let out a cold laugh. "You come only after the battle is over—afraid there'd be no place for you otherwise?"
The Evil Emperor seemed unbothered by her mockery. He said calmly, "I acknowledge you now."
As he spoke, streams of violet light flowed from his tentacles, condensing into the form of a tall human figure with purple eyes. His black hair was streaked with amethyst highlights, lending him a shadowy, ominous air.
The Evil Emperor, now in human form, stepped forward and looked at Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong.
"Pleasure working with you… humans."
