A long long time ago. I set out on a journey far away from home. Searching for a place. It's been so many years I begun to lose the person I once was. My father, Nicolas, never gave me the courage I needed to keep going. My mother, Ruby, however believed in what I could be, unfortunately though she died when I was very young. I remember the way she used to sing me songs, she would tell me stories about the trips she once went on. She'd bring back toys and gifts that only one could imagine. One was a sword, another was a map to the road I'm now on. The only thing that keeps me going, is this memory I have of her. She had bright blue eyes, blond hair, and she was the only mother in the world for me. I tried telling my father, but he chose to walk away. I thought maybe one day I'll find out the secret she never told me. I left home at just 16, without my father, I'd never find the truth. I kept walking along a path where no one could find me. I feel alone, lost but I have nowhere to turn to, maybe I could go home. But my mother wouldn't want that, she'd want me to keep going to finish what she started. Growing up I was so confused because as a little girl I never knew what happened. All I remember were the last words my mother ever said to me "when I'm gone, take this, you'll know what to do when you get there, I know I can't be there for you, but just know, I'm wherever you are" the words they spoke to me, deeply. They gave me the strength to keep moving, fighting, finding what I needed to find. I know my father, he's not the man he used to be. When my mother was around, she was his everything. But when she fell apart, his whole world did. I miss the way he would laugh and smile, but his smile slowly faded over time. It's like my father died but he's still here, I just know that one day. He'll be happy again. I was named Delilah, because of the strength they once gave to me. If I could see my mother again, she would hold me close, I'd never let go like I did when she left.
