"So, what's your plan concerning Rex? He's healed from the wound. What's next?" Brian asked one of the afternoon we were at the office.
He knew what transpired the last time and how Rex and I never got along. Rex carried himself like an enemy, so I treated him like one.
I was quiet for some time. I'd been hearing my father's wish in my mind frequently these days, and it felt wrong to push him out there like the last time.
Rex was just a rebellious wolf who acted before he thought. If I send him away again, he might get his head chopped off his neck, and I might be too late to save him. I wasn't going to take that chance.
We had scores to settle, but I wasn't ready to have my father's words replaying in my head every single time.
"He will stay in the pack for now… until I figure out what to do with him," I replied. Although Brian nodded, I knew he wasn't convinced.
"Also, I think I have the perfect job for him," I stated.
