Xavier grabbed my hand before I could say another word and pulled me from my seat. I barely found balance when he pulled me away from the club.
The guests were too busy having fun to even notice what was going on.
His hand wrapped around my wrist so tight it stung.
"You're hurting me!" I called out with hope that it would bring him to his senses, but it made him only tighten his grip around my wrist the more.
"Xavier..." The words died in my mouth when he suddenly threw me into the waiting car and slammed the door in my face.
I curled myself on the seat, scared of the stranger Xavier became in less than a minute.
He was just talking to the man who had approached me at the club, and now he was treating me like a rag doll.
He settled into the space beside me, and the driver started the car. He didn't even spare me a glance or check to see if I was truly hurt by his roughness.
He just kept his face straight and ignored me like I was a plague.
