He was being pushed back.
Blow after blow, Lynx's strikes rained down on Broly from every direction, twisting his neck, staggering his stance—it looked as if Broly was finally about to fall.
Lynx's grueling training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, under the care of Mr. Popo, was finally paying off. In a fight where power levels were near-equal, skill made the difference.
Meanwhile, New Planet Vegeta trembled beneath their feet.
Their clashing energies ravaged the land—rocks lifted from the ground, defying gravity; entire mountains began to collapse.
In the distance, Goku and the others could only watch in stunned silence.
Even Goku had to admit—the scale of the battle unfolding above them was beyond anything they could handle.
"Man… we've got no place in a fight like that," Goku muttered, scratching his head. "Who knew Mr. Lynx was that strong? If I'd known, I would've sparred with him earlier!"
"Dad… I can't see their movements anymore," Gohan whispered.
"Damn it…" Vegeta clenched his fists.
Ever since defeating Cell, Vegeta believed he had finally surpassed Goku and reclaimed his title as the strongest Saiyan. Yet now, two incomprehensibly powerful Saiyans stood above him—and neither was named Vegeta.
For the proud Prince of the Saiyans, it was humiliating.
"RAAAHHH!"
Just as Lynx was pummeling Broly into submission, Broly suddenly curled into himself—then burst outward with a scream.
A glowing yellow-green shield of energy flared up, enveloping his entire body.

Broly's eyes lost all focus. Sanity vanished.
In the heat of battle, his mind finally snapped. Now, he was no longer a warrior—he was a beast.

Driven by mindless rage, Broly charged recklessly at Lynx.
Lynx didn't dare underestimate him.
He summoned every ounce of insight and precision he'd gained from Mr. Popo's teachings. But Broly's power was now surpassing his own.

The blast engulfed Lynx completely.
Broly roared in triumph—until he noticed something strange.
The smoke cleared.
Lynx stood tall, completely unharmed, a glowing barrier shielding his body.
He panted heavily.
Even as a Legendary Super Saiyan, power wasn't truly infinite. Fatigue still crept in.
Staring down Broly, Lynx realized something.
This fight… this monster… couldn't be beaten with brute force alone.
Their strength was too close. A clean victory would never come in a head-on clash.
And then—he saw it.
Behind Broly… the sun had risen on New Planet Vegeta.
And in the brilliant blue sky…
A massive white comet loomed, taking up nearly the entire horizon.
That's it.
In Paragus's original plan, this comet was meant to annihilate Vegeta and his companions. The collision was set to happen today.
Without realizing it, the battle had raged through the entire night. And now… the comet was nearly here.
Perfect.
Just as Lynx formulated his plan, a barrage of energy blasts came roaring toward him—burning, screaming, like a tidal wave of destruction.
Each blast slammed into Lynx's barrier, exploding on contact.

Through the haze, Lynx shot upward into the sky.
Broly—now in full berserker mode—roared and chased after him, hurling more energy blasts as he went.
"What are they doing now?" Goku wondered aloud, watching the two figures vanish into the stratosphere.
But their curiosity was quickly overridden by panic.
They too saw the comet.
"Oh no! The comet!"
"Piccolo! Where's your ship?!"
"That way! Hurry!"
"Vegeta! Stop standing there—MOVE!"[1]
As the group rushed to the spaceship, Lynx and Broly broke through the atmosphere, cloaked in shimmering green-yellow ki.
They continued their high-speed pursuit—straight toward the comet.
Near the massive icy mass, Lynx finally stopped.
Broly, still howling, conjured a massive energy blast in his palm and hurled it at Lynx.
It started small—but halfway through the flight, it expanded, growing into a massive orb of destruction.
The blast swallowed Lynx whole.
But then—Broly's eyes narrowed.
Lynx's figure shimmered… and disappeared.
A… afterimage?
Lynx had left behind an afterimage.
