When Lynx heard that Tights wanted to start martial arts training, he was momentarily stunned. Then he reached out, gently pulled her close, and gave her a kiss.
"You silly girl, what kind of martial arts do you think you're gonna train in?"
Over the past year of training on Earth, Lynx and Tights had grown very close. Their relationship had long since been established, though they hadn't gotten married—and Tights never brought it up.
Tights smiled, "You're not even from Earth. What could you teach me? Master Roshi's known worldwide. He's the real deal."
Lynx thought for a second and nodded. "Fair enough."
Just as the two made their decision, Bulma suddenly chimed in, "Big bro Lynx! I wanna learn martial arts too!"
"Bulma?!" Lynx and Tights exclaimed together.
Tights crossed her arms and glared. "Bulma! What kind of nonsense are you pulling now?"
"I'm not messing around!" Bulma pouted. "Sis, I really want to learn martial arts!"
Of course, that wasn't the whole truth. She mainly wanted to spend more time with Lynx.
Even as a little girl, Bulma was already showing signs of puppy love.
In the original series, she was basically a flirt from the start. Although she was even younger now than when she debuted in the canon timeline, Lynx had already caught her attention.
But since her sister was already with him, she'd kept her feelings buried deep down.
Lynx hadn't thought about it that way. He was just considering the practicality—letting Bulma train a little might actually be a good idea.
Sure, there was no mention of Bulma having martial arts talent in the original story, but if she picked up even a little training, she might be able to protect herself during future adventures with Goku.
And besides, with his own strength, Lynx wasn't planning to stay long with Master Roshi anyway. If Tights gave up early, fine—but if she stuck with it, having Bulma around would at least keep her company.
So Lynx convinced Tights and agreed to bring Bulma along.
After saying their goodbyes to Dr. and Mrs. Briefs, Lynx took the two sisters and flew off toward Master Roshi's island.
Since he didn't know the exact location, he couldn't use Instant Transmission to jump straight there. But he remembered the island was somewhere in the middle of the ocean, so they just flew toward open sea.
This time, he brought along a newly upgraded scouter that Bulma had made.
It was redesigned based on the Saiyan model, but improved: slightly bigger, but with no upper detection limit.
In other words, this scouter wouldn't explode just because someone's power level was too high.
Lynx had even helped Bulma test a few prototypes to calibrate the device.
Roshi could sense ki, sure—but in a non-combat state, he was just an ordinary old man. Trying to find him based on energy alone would've been like hunting for a whisper in a storm.
But with Bulma's new scouter, Lynx easily pinpointed his location.
"Bulma, this scouter's amazing!"
"Really?" Bulma blushed at the praise. "Big bro Lynx, I put a hundred more in that capsule case I gave you. Use them however you want! My dad's got the blueprints too, so if you ever need more, just let him know."
Meanwhile, on a tiny island deep in the sea, Master Roshi sat in front of the TV with a tissue roll in one hand and his eyes glued to a sexy yoga instructor on screen. Nose bleeding and grinning, he was clearly enjoying his day.
Next to the window, a sea turtle was lazily sunbathing.
Suddenly, Roshi shivered. He leapt to his feet and dashed outside in a panic.
"Master Roshi? What's going on?" the turtle asked, slowly crawling after him.
"There's... there's a terrifyingly powerful ki heading straight this way!"
Roshi was sweating bullets. The energy he sensed was leagues beyond anything he'd felt before—far greater than even Demon King Piccolo's.
Who the heck was this guy?
And why did he have such monstrous power?
"They're here!"
Just as Roshi spoke, his muscles tensed. His whole body bulked up instinctively, like an animal reacting to a threat it couldn't understand.
Three figures descended from the sky and landed gently on the beach.
"Wow! This is Master Roshi's place?"
"Such a remote island! No wonder no one can ever find him."
Roshi, still flexing, deflated like a balloon. The moment he saw the two beautiful sisters, his serious face melted into a goofy grin.
"Hello, ladies! What brings such lovely guests to my humble home?"
His eyes locked on Tights, who was dressed in something cool and breezy, showing off her... generous figure.
But then, he noticed Lynx approaching from behind them, his face instantly pale and dripping with sweat.
So that's where the monstrous power was coming from…
Lynx glanced at the scouter—it showed Roshi's power level as a mere 20.
No surprise there. Roshi was clearly suppressing his energy.
Without Bulma's upgraded device, Lynx probably wouldn't have noticed him at all in this vast ocean.
"Nice to meet you, Master Roshi," Lynx said with a warm smile.
"Uh… what can I help you with?" Roshi asked nervously.
"I'm Lynx. This is my girlfriend, Tights, and her little sister, Bulma. We're from West City. We'd like to become your students and learn from you."
"Students?" Roshi blinked.
"Young man, you're way stronger than me. Why would you want to be my student?"
Lynx replied, "Of course. You're known as the God of Martial Arts. You've mastered countless techniques. Me? I'm just strong—I don't have your skills or experience. Besides, it's not just me. Tights and Bulma would also like to train under you."
"Ahem…" Roshi coughed, flattered. Who'd have thought someone this powerful would come seeking his guidance?
He couldn't wait to rub this in Crane Hermit's face one day.
"Well… I do take students, but I have certain... requirements. You see—"
Just then, a brilliant white flash lit up the horizon. Lynx casually extended a hand and fired a ki blast toward the distant ocean.
BOOOOM!
A massive mushroom cloud erupted over the waves.
Lynx turned back with an innocent smile. "You were saying, Master Roshi? Huh? Why are you kneeling?"
"I, uh…" Roshi sniffled and wiped his nose. "Welcome to the Turtle School!"
