Chapter 19 - Part 19 :

The eyes of each of the witch, ser Declan, and the guard were barely fixed on the jar thrown towards them in the pitch darkness, while their legs froze in place, unable to move when...

And as it hovered in the air, from nowhere, hundreds of black and misty threads appeared flowing from behind the jar to stick to it like a huge tail.

In the blink of an eye, the black threads had surrounded it from all sides, increasing its size and ominousness, and turning the white bottle as black as the night as it fell onto the dusty ground.

Ser Declan was able to dodge it with difficulty thanks to his skill and speed when it passed just a foot or two away from where he stood.

The shroud of darkness dissipated from the bottle when it landed on the ground, returning it to its original form without a scratch, and within just a few seconds, the black threads began to gather around them, surrounding them from all directions like fog, then concentrating into a single point.

They had not been spared a moment until the thick black mist had transformed before them into a misshapen black monkey.

The beast was giant, exceeding two and a half meters in height, roaring with a cursed voice and having a long neck topped with a small bald head when compared to its stocky body and protruding belly, while its two hairy hands were the largest part of it, each with three sharp claws.

The hunter did not give the beast a moment to attack; as he knelt down to be almost at the same height as the terrified boy , then struck with a single powerful and swift blow from his dagger to the young boy's neck without blinking or being disturbed by his pleading screams or falling tears.

The boy was slaughtered with the dagger, just as the sacrifices offered to the gods and saints are slaughtered in the ancient and small shrines painted in white and sky blue, which are scattered throughout the kingdom.

The boy fell violently to the ground and his cursed blood flowed on it, and he writhed and kicked his feet, scattering dust around him.

The hunter leaped back with the graceful lightness of a cat while the boy who fell to the ground desperately trying to stop the red rose blooming between his veins with his slender hands, while his bated breath faded slowly like the echo of a bell
