Chapter 82 - chapter89

Emyrion had apparently enjoyed enough of Emory's suffering. He withdrew his gaze and turned toward the silent Elara standing before him. The malice in his eyes flickered again.

"Heh, Empress of Plumera Kingdom, how are you liking the 'Divine Tower' from our Darknight Hall? No one has ever used one of our relics so brazenly before. It's time you and Plumera Kingdom paid back what you've borrowed, with interest."

As Emyrion finished speaking, blood-red light suddenly surged from him and the six people behind him. That bloodlust-charged glow was eerie and chilling.

The seven floated into the sky, looking down on Elara and the fortress behind her with malicious intent.

"The Divine Tower is useful, but our Darknight Hall has spent centuries gathering perfect-grade relics from the world continent. These seven divine lights behind us are the culmination of that effort."

Emyrion glanced back at the surging divine light behind him, his expression mixed with pride and mockery.

"The Divine Tower is powerful, but it still has flaws that cannot be repaired. Ah, and last time, you used that divine mirror stolen from Salvia Kingdom to defeat those two wastes from our Darknight Hall, right? Too bad, that mirror is useless before our perfect-grade relics."

He turned his head back, full of malice, glaring at Elara.

"Now open your eyes wide and watch how we deal with those who dared to steal relics from Darknight Hall. And see how your Plumera Kingdom will suffer a miserable fate for crossing us."

Emyrion finished and burst into crazed laughter.

Just as he was about to unleash the seven divine lights behind him, a tall, slender figure slowly appeared beside Elara in what had seemed to be empty air.

Uno removed his invisibility cloak, revealing himself and presenting the seven divine talismans he had silently taken from Emyrion and the others to Elara.

"Your Majesty, these are all the divine talismans they have."

Elara took the talismans and looked up at Emyrion, who hovered above the city wall. Her voice was calm and elegant.

"Is that so? So your Darknight Hall really managed to gather perfect-grade relics? Perfect. Plumera Kingdom just happens to need one. I'll gladly accept."

Seeing the seven talismans suddenly appear in Uno's hand, Emyrion's manic laughter froze. His expression shifted as he hurriedly reached for his inner robe, only to find it completely empty.

His face changed dramatically, the arrogance from before turning into bitter malice.

"You, how could this be?"

Besides the divine talismans of the Divine Light, he also carried many other defensive and hidden relics. Even if they were of mid or low grade, there was no way someone should have been able to steal them without his notice.

Unless the other party had an even higher-grade concealment relic.

Emyrion was furious. Ever since he betrayed and destroyed the Thousand Masks Sect, he had not felt such humiliation.

"You." He glared hard at Elara, lifting his hand to activate the seven divine lights behind him.

But the moment the seven divine lights moved, Elara, without even glancing up, swiftly drew complex totems on the talismans with a speed too fast for others to see.

In the next moment, the divine lights that had just shot from behind Emyrion's group and were less than half a meter from the Divine Tower's golden shield suddenly froze.

Then, to Emyrion's horror, the seven divine lights slowly faded, as if their energy had vanished.

Seconds later, Elara, moving like a shadow, quickly drew something else on the talismans. The vanished divine lights reappeared.

But now, they were entirely behind Elara. They had become her weapons, their sharp and blood-colored glow aimed directly at Emyrion and his group.

"How... how could this be? The Divine Light, a top-tier perfect relic, how could it change allegiance so easily? What did you do?"

He had just seen his strongest relics betray him and effortlessly turn to serve the enemy.

Emyrion's eyes nearly burst with rage. The malice on his face was so intense it almost became tangible, far more violent than his earlier reaction to Emory's loss of composure.

Elara tested the perfect-grade relic. The immense power emanating from the seven divine lights swirling around her was deeply satisfying.

Once satisfied, she looked up at the twisted face of Emyrion, still floating in midair.

"You talk too much."

If he hadn't spent so long tormenting Emory and savoring his pain, Elara wouldn't have had time to let Uno steal those talismans.

As soon as she spoke, Elara vanished from the wall and appeared right before Emyrion.

Startled by her sudden approach, Emyrion backed away in terror, various colors of light flashing over his body. Protective relics of mid and lower grades.

Unfortunately for him, they were completely useless in the face of the perfect-grade relic Divine Light, which had just turned against him.

Elara gently waved her hand. A divine light swept across Emyrion and easily shattered all the divine artifacts on him.

Without those artifacts, Emyrion, once part of the Qianmian Sect, had nothing left to protect him. Though skilled in disguise and full of vicious thoughts, his internal strength was extremely weak, only on the same level as Emory.

So once all the divine items were destroyed, Emyrion had no chance to escape. Elara reached out and grabbed his neck, slowly lifting him up to eye level. Her face stayed expressionless, but as she stared at Emyrion's face turning red from struggling, a trace of coldness appeared.

"You came today planning to strike at my Plumera Kingdom, didn't you? Then I'll let you see what happens to those who dare attack us."

Elara spoke coldly, then tightened her grip.

Emyrion's face turned a deathly purple, his eyes rolled back, and all his arrogance vanished. He could only struggle in panic, slapping Elara's hand weakly as he choked out words from his throat, "Don't, don't kill me… I, I still have... superior divine weapons..."

He forced out each word slowly. Surprisingly, Elara's hand loosened slightly.

"Oh? Where?"

With a bit of air finally entering his lungs, Emyrion gasped heavily. In his fearful gaze at Elara, a hidden trace of resentment flashed through. "You must first promise me..."

But before he could finish, Elara's grip tightened again, harder than before. Emyrion could almost hear his own neck bones twisting and cracking, like they would snap at any second.

"Looking like this, you still want to bargain with me?" Elara stared at his purpling face with mockery.

"In, in the Central Continent, Northern Frontier... Jiasi Kingdom... beneath the imperial palace..."

Seeing the killing intent deep in Elara's eyes, Emyrion dared not hide anything. He struggled desperately and spat out the location.

But the next moment, Elara smiled at him. "Not bad, but since I already know the location, what use do I have for a venomous sack like you?"

Emyrion's terrified eyes widened. That was the last sentence he ever heard.

A sharp cracking sound came from his neck. Before he could understand what happened, darkness completely swallowed his mind, and his brain full of evil thoughts finally shut down.

Elara saw Emyrion's whole body go limp. She moved her hand slightly, confirming that the neck had been crushed into soft powder, then turned and returned to the city wall. She threw Emyrion's lifeless corpse in front of Emory and Morin.

"You two take care of the body yourselves."
