Kaito wakes to the soft hum of dawn. His room is sparse—just a bed, a desk, and a football resting at his feet.
Kaito (V.O.):
"My name is Kaito Ren. It's been three days since I stepped into Phoenix Eleven. It still doesn't feel real..."
He sits up, rubbing his eyes. The necklace with Hiro's jersey tag clinks gently as it sways from his neck.
Kaito (smiling slightly):
"Nii-chan… it's starting."
Just then, his door BURSTS open.
Shun Tachibana (grinning wildly):
"WAKE UP, FIREHEAD! We've got our first scrimmage today!"
Kaito (startled):
"H-Hey! Ever heard of knocking!?"
Shun:
"Nah. Not when destiny's kicking off! Let's GO!"

All the selected players are gathered. Coach Kurobane steps forward like a looming shadow. Silence falls immediately.
Coach Kurobane:
"Today, we separate the steel from the scrap. You'll be split into teams. Winning team gets first choice of dorms, schedules, AND permanent numbers. Losers? Back to extra drills. Understood?"
All (in unison):
"YES, COACH!"
A screen displays the teams. Gasps ripple across the room.

Team Blaze (Kaito, Shun, Daichi, and others)

Team Ice (Riku Ayama, Yuto Arashi, Kanzaki, etc.)
Kaito (inner thought):
"Of course… him."
Riku (glancing calmly):
"This should be educational."

Daichi (serious):
"Team Ice has Riku. He's the best tactician here. If we don't plan right—"
Kaito (cutting in):

Everyone looks at him.
Kaito:
"They might have a genius… but we've got fire. We don't copy their game. We break it."
Shun (grinning):

Riku (cold):

He backheels to Shun, who flips it over a defender—returns the volley mid-air—
Kaito launches forward, spinning—GOAL!

Crowd of trainees roars.

Kaito turns. A girl in a dark blazer and academy skirt stands before him, tablet in hand, glasses shimmering in the light. Her long brown hair flows in the breeze.
Kaito:
"Uh… yeah?"
Girl (smiles):
"I'm Yuna Sakamoto. Newest data strategist for Phoenix Eleven."
Kaito tilts his head.
Kaito:
"You're a… strategist? Like, with stats and stuff?"
Yuna:
"With far more than 'stuff'. I analyze player trends, movement paths, mental fatigue markers, and stress-pattern coding. Including yours."
She taps her tablet. A 3D model of Kaito appears, with glowing trail paths showing his movements during the match.
Kaito (laughing nervously):
"W-Wow… that's creepy and impressive."
Yuna (playful):
"I prefer 'intimate and tactical'."

Coach Kurobane watches footage from the scrimmage.

"Kaito's reckless… but he's learning."

Mysterious Man 2:
"Let him grow. But keep control."
