DERRICK'S POV
I was the middle child of 5, my two older brothers are working in medicine and Engineering, while my younger brother and sister are actors and high school students, and I'm a model and pro-gamer. Being a model was not one of my career ideas; I was supposed to be an actor, and my younger brother was the so-called prodigy in acting.
16 Years Ago
I was 7 years old back then, my younger brother was 7 months younger than me, my mom got pregnant when I was 10 months old, since she got sick before giving birth to my younger brother, and he needs attention, while I was under the care of my grandparents on my father side, with so many aunties to take care of me, I was 1 year old back then when I was sent away, as what my grandma told me, my older brothers were 4 and 2 years older than me. My father visited me, almost once a month for 2 days, then he goes back to my mother. I turned 3, I never saw my mom, and apparently, I got a younger sister.
It was Tuesday afternoon, I remembered I was 5, my sister got sick, a fever they say, while I was sent because I got hit by a bike and got frost bite, they were told what happened to me, but they only said they will send money, but when I arrived at the hospital they look worried with my sister, while I was barely breathing in a stretcher. I was brought into the emergency room, and the doctor took a look at my sister when I was there first. I could hear the nurse immediately bring me to the ICU as I was catching my breath. After they ensured my safety, I was brought to the ward, while my sister was brought to a private room. My family were rich as what I know, after I was able to walk again, I went to my sister's nobody was there, she looked at me saying I look like mother but a young boy, indeed I somehow looked like my mother, her orange hair, and orange eyes, I didn't say anything then the nurse and my parents came in, my parents were surprised to see me, "Young boy do you know her? Where are your parents?" The nurse asked, " Didn't know she's with them, "My parents? I've always wondered where are my parents, I'm from the orphanage so I don't know" I replied, while smiling brightly, the nurse told my parents what had happened to me and my mother cried, wants to hug me but I move away, "I don't hug strangers" I said and walked away, "Will you play with me? If we got better?" My younger sister asked, "No, never," I replied bitterly.
Days passed, and they tried to visit me, but I told the nurse I didn't feel safe when they visited me. They pulled the parent card; the nurses and doctors were looking at them with disdain, gossiping about how they abandoned a child. They tried to explain, but as they went on, I was already discharged without them noticing. I went back to my grandparents.
