Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- In the corroded zone

According to the memories he inherited from the previous owner, he was within a corroded zone. Anywhere hit by the blinding radiance of God's power would become a corroded zone and all forms of life within it would be wiped out.

Both humans and animals would die or mutate into horrendous creatures and new life would spring out, feeding on the corrosive substance that came from gods power.

Speaking of God, there was a huge hand that hung in the sky. It could be seen by all living things.

Thousands of years ago, this hand suddenly appeared in the sky and with it came change. Some of the new forms of life that came with this change were called bizarre existences.

They did not follow the laws of nature and instead, were guided by the perverse powers of God. The cultivation world had also been thrown into chaos and the remaining human race's experts took the human race away.

A few months ago, God's power struck the city he was in and everybody either died or Mutated into beasts. Except him.

He did not know how or why he did not die and why everyone else did. The bizarre existences within the corroded zones are very strong and he could not hope to contend with mere Mutated beasts, talk less of battling bizarre existences.

Grey had been cultivating and managed to reach the second level of Qi accumulation, but that was not even the bare minimum to survive and he had been killed shortly after.

He held the purple crystal in his hand and continued walking forth. According to his memories, there was a mutated creature within this blood lake and it was in the seventh level of Qi accumulation.

The sky would soon get dark and when it did, the bizarre existences would could out and he would be dead shortly if he was found.

Gritting his teeth and enduring the pain, he limped forward with the purple crystal in hand and navigated the growing lush forest if the corroded zone.

He avoided some areas where danger was not obvious and took detours around sites that should have been harmless.

In the end, when the sun had nearly come down in the distance, he was safe in the walls of a dilapidated building. This house was one of the few that survived and it had not broken finish, it still offered accommodation for him.

He sat down and bit into his lip as the pain made his brain turn white. He blocked the door with various miscellaneous items that lay not too far away, only then did he relax.

'What kind of world did I transmigrate into?"

Very soon as the sun went down and the sky was completely dark, the mutated creatures that populated the area came out and began to prowl.

The sounds of howls and growls and sometimes groans made Grey afraid but he focused on other things like the healing of his broken leg.

If he couldn't walk tomorrow, there would no way he could find food. He was already pale as he is. He picked up the water bottle by his side and drank a lot of water until his growing thirty was clenched.

He gritted his teeth as he shifted his body into a more comfortable position. Making his sure his leg lay straight to allow the bone to reattach correctly.

Luckily, he say some dirty bandages not too far away. Bearing through the pain of cleaning the wound, he wrapped the bandage around the wound in his leg.

Thankfully, it had stopped bleeding a long time ago. But any sudden or taxing movement would open it up again. Leading him to another round.

By the time he was done, the sweat accumulated had drenched his shirt and his face was even more pale.

"Now I can study this crystal..."

He held the crystal in his hands and looked at it from all angles. To him it looked normal, like a crystal supposed to was. He gazed at it for several minutes but nothing about it seemed off.

He sighed brought it back to his chest again. The purple light seemed to get brighter and he could feel his damaged body slowly repairing itself.

"So it looks like the healing capabilities will only work when I'm in contact with it."

Another thought entered his head. This crystal was probably a very important treasure that people would surely kill for it. If it was found on him they would take it away from him by force.

"So where do I hide it?"

He looked at the large wound on his chest. It had not finished healing yet but it was getting there. He gritted his teeth for the impending pain and pushed the purple crystal into his chest.

Grey felt like screaming out loud because of the unbearable pain, but the thought of countless beasts and bizarre existences entering his broken house made him shut up and bear through the pain.

He bit his lip so badly that he tasted his own blood. When the purple crystal was fully inside his body, he sighed in relief.

The crystal was not small but at the same time it wasn't big. While inside his chest, the purple crystal continued to let out light and right before his eyes his wounds began to heal.

The tear where he had put the crystal in began to close and same thing happened with the rest of his injuries.

His broken leg realigned with the bone and healed, same with the gash on the back of his head. In fifteen minutes he was fully healed and not even scars remained.

Grey was so drained that he fell asleep immediately afterwards.

***

'I fell asleep...'

Grey awoke and gazed at the dark surroundings, half expecting to see his room.

'Ah, yes I remember. I transmigrated.'

He stood up and saw that his body was fully healed. He felt no discomfort or even any signs of injuries. It was like it had all disappeared.

Well they had disappeared when the purple crystal healed them. Speaking of purple crystal, his chest felt normal. Like he had not chucked a crystal the size of a small rock inside him.

He felt oddly powerful as well. Like he could face anything that came his way. But he knew that wasn't true, it was just the feeling he often had when cultivating.

"Finally, I can go to hunt and also digest the memories." He touched his side and felt the presence of a pouch.

When he opened it, he found a jade slip and some other things as well. The contents of the jade slip was in a different language entirely and he found that he could read it or even make heads or tail of it.

But then it changed from being strange to a little alien, then to familiar... And soon he could read the contents of the Jade slip. He saw the title written and top and read it out loud.

"Sky Mist... cultivation art."

This was the current art he was learning right now. It rather, the previous owner of this body was learning before he died.

It included the breathing method and the way one's Qi should flow when he cultivated it. It even said that for best results, it should be cultivated where there is mist.

"But there was no mist here... Well if it were me I would be grateful I saw a cultivation art to learn."

It mentioned a lot that should be expected when cultivating this art and the amount of levels it possessed.

For now, he was in the second level which was also the same level in Qi accumulation realm. He had to be able to sense the Qi in his body and direct it to all parts of his body.

He had already succeeded.
