Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Flame and Flesh

Their shared chamber overlooked a floating sea of stars. A bed carved from luminous crystal waited, draped in silk spun from silver clouds.

Scarlet approached wearing a sheer white garment lined with divine runes. Her hair was woven with threads of gold, and in her hand, she held a circlet.

"Do you know what I miss most?" she asked, voice like smoke.

Kale leaned back on the bed, shirt undone, watching her with interest.

"When mortals feared my name."

She placed the circlet on her brow. The air changed. The goddess looked down at him now.

"You ended gods, Kale Silva. But I was one before your name was ever whispered."

He smirked. "You're going to make me kneel, aren't you?"

She stepped onto the bed, straddling him. "No. You'll beg."

Their bodies met in slow-burning fire. Her hands pinned him down, her mouth claimed his neck. Kale groaned, fingers tangling in her hair as her lips traced down his chest.

Scarlet whispered blessings in the ancient tongue, each syllable heating his skin like divine flame. When she sank onto him, her back arched, and stars bent outside the windows.

He bucked his hips, gasping, but she held him firm.

"You belong to me now," she hissed into his ear. "Say it."

"I belong to you. Goddess."

Their rhythm grew faster, their cries echoing across creation's edges. Magic sparked across their skin, a dance of soul and body intertwined. When they climaxed, it was not just pleasure—it was worship.

And she kissed him after, holding his face.

"This world is ours, Kale. Let them forget the gods."
