Chapter 7 - Daniel

"Aelia, give me back my phone!" I was in the hall, having a peaceful afternoon when I heard Cyrus shout from his room. "Nope!" Aelia replied and squealed as she giggled. I heard soft thumps on the carpeted floor with heavy walking steps following as Cyrus followed his sister from one end of the corridor to the other. The fact that Aelia was running and Cyrus was walking was just funny. I sighed and shook my head when it got quiet for a while before I heard, "gotcha! Give me my phone, you little trouble maker." Aelia giggled and ran after her brother into his room.

"You know very well they're not exactly siblings." My mind mocked me. Yes, Cyrus and Aelia were not related biologically in any way and the fact that I couldn't separate them was just sickening. My wife and I knew Aelia was Cyrus' mate but because I didn't want my daughter to get married or pregnant so soon, we kept the secret and it was okay that way. Cyrus was a werewolf, a half animal but whoever did the pairing, I don't know, made a mistake and managed to pair a human being to a werewolf. I knew that sooner or later, I would have to reveal the twenty four year old secret to the children but I just couldn't bring myself to do that.

It was time for dinner. As usual, Cyrus and Aelia came out of his room. Only that today, Aelia looked annoyed while Cyrus looked like he had been trying to apologize for a long time. As usual, she was wearing her brother's shirt and boxers. I sighed, tired of telling her to stop wearing her brother's clothes. After all, the first time I did that, I nearly got slapped.

"What is it?" Calista, my wife, asked when Aelia sat down and Cyrus joined her in the next seat. "Mama, Cyrus bought a teddy bear for someone and he wouldn't tell me who." She reported and I glared at him. "Come on, sis. He's free to date. You can't be with him everytime. You will also get married one day." Immediately Xavier ended, Cyrus growled at the statement. His wolf probably didn't like the thought of his mate getting married to someone else. I chuckled at that. "The bear is for you, princess." Cyrus explained. Xavier looked between them and chuckled.

"I swear, dad. Are you sure that we're all your children? Because these two behave more like a couple than siblings." Although Xavier was joking, their mom and I knew the truth. We just chuckled. "Their relationship is just unique." I shrugged. "Really? Thank you!" I clenched my jaw when Aelia kissed Cyrus' cheek while Cyrus purred in satisfaction.

Aelia has been kissing Cyrus since she turned three years old. If not his cheeks, then his lips. I was fed up with them.

Aelia is three years old and Cyrus is nine years old.

"Cyrus, come and let's play Princess!" Aelia squealed as she ran into the hall while I was chatting with Cyrus. Ignoring her father, Aelia took her brother's hand and dragged him towards the stairs. "Princess?" Cyrus asked, amused. If it had been me, I would have found excuses to escape that hell. No wonder she already loved her brother. "Yes! Mommy got me a new doll house and Barbie dolls. Will you play with me?" Aelia asked. "Yes, buttercup." Cyrus replied. Excitedly, she stood on her tiptoes and planted a kiss on her brother's lips.

The unexpected action caused me to stand up and separate the two. "Hey!" Aelia flinched as tears filled her eyes. "If you do that again, I will spank you." I warned her and she burst into tears. Cyrus, being Cyrus, pushed me aside with an incredible strength and embraced his little sister. I watched helplessly as he carried her to her room, while consoling her.

That was the first time she kissed her elder brother. Cyrus stole a glance at me and chuckled as he continued to eat. The nerve. I huffed.

"There's a party next week Friday at Kelvin's house." Aelia suddenly announced, looking at her phone. Before I speak, Cyrus spoke, "you are not going." Aelia glared at him. "Why can't I go? I'm eighteen, sir." She growled at him. Cyrus kept staring at her before he chuckled and leaned towards her ear. He whispered something. I watched as she blushed and turned to look at him. While Cyrus smirked, Aelia looked shocked. I wondered what he told her.

"Fine! You're such a killjoy, Cyrus. I have not been to any party because of you." She grumbled as she finished her food, stood up, wished us good night and ran upstairs into her room. Cyrus chuckled as he stared at her. "What did you tell her?" I asked, still curious to know what on earth he said to my daughter to make her so flustered.

"That I would spank her if she dared to go." He spoke so nonchalantly as if it was a normal thing to do to his sister. Blood drained from my face. They had reached that stage? "Bro, is she a little girl? How can you spank your sister?" Xavier asked, chuckling as he stuffed his mouth with fried chicken. Cyrus chuckled, "I can and I will if she doesn't listen to me." He replied and I just felt slapping him. Cyrus was such an asshole. I glared at him when he had the damn audacity to wink at me.
