Chapter 46 - CHAPTER 45

MAHIRA

It's been a month since I came back. I caught up with a few things and spent time with my kids.

Elena was depressed, the trauma caught up with her and I felt so bad that I couldn't get to her in

time but the therapy sessions seemed to be helpful.

Angelo and Alexander were quite clingy, some nights they were too scared to close their eyes

and sleep. If they did, one of them would wake up from a nightmare or struggle with waking up.

Sometimes they didn't want to open their eyes, maybe because they were scared they would

find themselves elsewhere.

Kaashvi refused to go back to Korea and cancelled a tour so that she could make sure we were

alright. Adamsen was just Adamsen as always. Whenever I was in the office he would bring

breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. It seemed like both him and Thane were spending a lot

of time with each other.

I had to attend a meeting in Africa so my flight was tonight. I was going to South Africa and I'd

be there for a week. Thane came to my office before I left for my flight. I didn't expect him to

come but I let him in. He had a box which he gave to me. I opened the box which had a pendant

inside. I put it aside on my table.

'I got this necklace for you Mahi. Well I just wanted to inform you that I'm going to the camp

tonight. There's an urgent issue that needs to be solved and I'm not sure how long I will be

there.'

'So?'

Thane walked up to me slowly and my mind screamed at me to back away. A part of me

believed that he wanted to hurt me, my hands began trembling and my teeth drumming against

each other.

'Did I hurt you so much that you are scared of me?' He cornered me with his body on the wall. I couldn't breathe. Yes there was oxygen but I felt

suffocated. My trembling didn't stop, it only got worse. He suddenly grabbed me in his embrace

and kissed me gently. I pushed him away after a while.

'Please don't do this.' I mumbled my eyes shut so tight I thought they'd permanently shut down.

I could see the hurt in his eyes when I said so but for now it really didn't matter. He didn't back

down though he came closer and kissed my neck. His touch still affected me but I was scared of

going back to him. I was scared he'd snap and hit me, or drag me away, cut all contact with the

world and keep me locked up.

His kisses trailed off to my collarbone. I was wearing a grey banarasi saree paired with a deep v

neck string choli. He managed to remove the pin on my saree and his kisses trailed down to my

stomach.

I let out a soft moan and for the moment I nearly gave in to his touch but the memories of his

torture came flooding back which made me panic. I put my hands over my chest forcing his

head to break contact with my chest.

'I said please stay away from me, I don't like your touch, please.'

I took my purse and car keys and left the office. I boarded my flight to South Africa. When I got

to South Africa I took a deep breath. It has been years since I came here. I never thought I'd

come back here. I booked a five star hotel and decided to explore again.

Nothing was interesting though. I spent most of my childhood here. Since the meeting would be

on the next day I decided to meet Ms Kiewit. Ms Kiewit was my business studies teacher and I

liked her so much. She was a very beautiful woman and kind as well.

Luckily for me she was still a teacher in Pretoria Secondary School . The school hadn't changed

much. The judgemental and confused looks of some of the students I passed made me so self

aware.

Some who knew me asked for photographs and others took a selfie with me which eased my

tension. They crowded me. It was break time, I assumed since there were so many children

outside and some ordering food from the tuckshop.

Getting through that crowd was difficult so Horatio had to intervene. Okay maybe I abused

horatio too much because I took him everywhere but common, he was the best bodyguard I

had, not only was he friendly but he could be serious and tough when it came to his job

bodyguards had to intervene and control the crowd.

Plus I have the right to take him everywhere because it is his duty to protect me. And I paid him

for it. The teachers were in a staff meeting. I waited outside the auditorium until I was let in when

the meeting ended. I got in and smiled at everyone but they didn't seem to recognize me.

Principal, 'I'm sorry who are you? Do I have a meeting I don't know about?'

'Ooh no sir uhm actually I am Mahira Riley, the CEO of AMS Film Production Studio and I used

to be a student here. I just came here to see the teachers in this school. I hope it's not a

problem.'

Ms Motshegoa, 'So who are you again?'

'Mahira Riley.'

Ms Nadia, 'Mahira as in the girl who used to wear a mask, like one of the girls from the two

friends who used to wear masks.'

'Yes ma'am.'

Ms Makhubela, 'to what do we owe the visit of such a prestigious CEO?' 'Okay uhm not to disrupt the system of the school but how about I take you all out. You and the

students in this school after school how about that.'

Ms Williams, 'well I don't think that'll be possible because it's an unplanned outing and parents

have the impression that their kid is at school.'

'Okay I will bring the party here then. I'll buy food and serve everyone. I'll introduce myself and

I'll leave.'

Principal, 'It must be PSS's lucky day.'

Mahira, 'okay can I please see Ms Boshego please."

Principal, 'well here she is.'

Ms Boshego came from behind and didn't recognize me at all. I hugged her and we exchanged

some greetings. The teachers went to their classes to teach and I sat in the lobby. I had made a

pack order. The total number of children in the school was 2000 so I ordered a lot of diamond

necklaces for the girls and original leather watches for the boys.

That cost me R 65 000 000. I ordered as much food from different cuisines as I could. I went

from class to class gifting each learner and giving them a packet of food.

They were so happy. As a billionaire that was nothing actually. I got the teachers separate and

different gifts. I was hoping to see Mr Madela as well, she was my 11th grade consumer studies

teacher. I liked her so much that at one point it was mistaken for obsession. Luckily she didn't

leave the school so I met her too.

I enjoyed it here and it felt good to be in my old school. I donated R30 000 000 to the school for

children who were unable to pay school fees. My first day in Africa and I already spent

R95000000 isn't that amazing. I left late at night after discussing something with the principal.

My purpose here was fulfilled. I won a billion dollar contract and sold a script. Working with AMS

Film Production Studio was a privilege so it wasn't difficult to crack this deal.

With my extra time. I visited orphanages, health care facilities and as many places as I could. I

met with the president and he helped me further with my charity. I spent R900 000 000 on

charity and you can say in short that South Africa sucked me dry.

I didn't regret it though because at least poverty was reduced a bit, hopefully . On my way to the

airport my car hit a pretty woman and I was so scared. I got out of the car to assist her but I

guess she was fine.

She just fell because she lost balance and the car didn't injure her much.

'I'm so sorry dear. Are you alright?'

'Yes... just a little bit scared. Thanks by the way.'

'you look familiar, do I know you?'

'I don't think so... you are?'

'Mahira Riley.'

'Nice to meet you Ms Mahira Riley. My name is Mercy.'

'lovely name.. I had a bff once who was named that. It was nice meeting you anyway. Bye. I

have to catch a flight.'

I left and after a day I was back in London. Rachel gave me a long lecture on how I spent half of

my profit on Africa. I let her talk until she got tired and just got us food.

My company made a profit of over 90 000 000 Euro's in a day. Not only one company. Fifty of

my companies made 90 000 000 Euro's. So it wasn't much. I was glad that most of my profits

could help people in need. Thane was not yet back from the army camp. Elena was accepted into one of the most

prestigious institutions in London. Her grades were good so she could easily go on scholarship.

Elena never relied on mine or Thane's money, she preferred working hard. She wanted to be a

gynecologist. Angelo wanted to work in film. Alexander was still unsure of his career path but he

wanted to do something that helped people.
