Kendrick's eyes narrowed as a sleek black Bentley glided to a stop at the side of the road. His pulse spiked instantly as he recognised the car.
It was the same one Ivy had used to take Griffin to school.
"Could it be her?" The thought snatched the air from his lungs, flooding him with a surge of anticipation that bordered on euphoria.
Before he could move, his phone lit up.
The name, My Sunshine, flashed across the screen and his heart leapt with a boyish excitement –pounding wildly as he swiped the answer button.
"Hello."
"Good evening, Mr. Silva. We need to talk… privately." Hiraya's voice, cool and laced with something colder beneath, echoed from the other end.
"Sure… anywhere you choose is perfect for me."
"Awesome! Let's meet at the Hamilton Five-Star hotel. Rooftop. Seven o'clock sharp."
Kendrick instantly froze– the hairs on the back of his neck prickled.
