New World – Marine G-5 Base

"Hahaha! Not bad, kid—you haven't been slacking in training!"

Garp rubbed his iron fists, as if itching for Atlas to feel his 'loving punches.'

"Thank you, Vice Admiral Garp, but I still have a long way to go." Atlas smiled, pretending not to notice Garp's eager knuckle flexing.

"Settle down, Garp—enough with the theatrics!" Vice Admiral Tsuru's voice cut in. Among those gathered, only she could realistically rein him in.

"Haha! I just wanted to give Atlas a little pointer in his training," Garp said, settling into an embarrassed grin and scratching the back of his head.

"Listen up. If you want a match, go test your fists on Whitebeard." Tsuru's tone shifted, announcing the real reason they had gathered.

In the cramped office sat most of the Marine leadership in the New World—Garp, Akainu, Tsuru, Atlas, plus Tokikake and Gion. Kaki and Shuten were expected shortly.

"Whitebeard, huh…" Atlas's eyes lit—not from reverence, but because Whitebeard was the man he intended to surpass.

At his peak decades ago, and still the strongest today.

"All right—gear up. Target: the Whitebeard Pirates!" Akainu's voice was brisk, resolute. Eliminating pirates was his sole focus, and he wasted no time setting the pace.

Moby Dick

Whitebeard stood tall on the prow, Murakumogiri in hand, draped in his iconic captain's cloak. His golden hair flowed freely in the sea breeze.

Behind him trailed a fleet of allied ships.

"Hey, Garp—ready to see if those fists of yours still work?" Whitebeard called.

"Haha! You bet, old man! These iron fists are itching for a workout!" Garp barked back without hesitation.

They were old rivals. Garp had chased Roger across the seas in the Old Era, but he'd crossed blades with Whitebeard nearly as often.

"Hey, Whitebeard!" Atlas's voice rang out.

The pirates turned, startled to hear a Marine—bold enough to shout at their captain from across the waves.

"I'm Kanos Atlas! Remember the name—it's the one that'll take your throne as the world's strongest! Stay alive until then—don't you dare die early!"

Gasps and angry murmurs rippled across the deck. Atlas didn't flinch.

"Hahaha! That's the spirit, Atlas!" Garp grinned, pride written all over his face.

"Gulalalala~ A bold brat. You want my head? Then prove you can take it!" Whitebeard's deep laugh carried across the sea. Amusement, not anger.

Then, a tremendous aura erupted from him. For a split second, colour drained from the world. Black and crimson lightning tore through the sky as his Conqueror's Haki crashed down like a tidal wave.

Marines staggered and dropped in droves, unable to withstand the pressure.

Garp and Akainu stood firm, but Atlas bore the brunt. This was leagues above Kaido's Haki—raw, overwhelming will.

A mere Conqueror's Haki won't bend me! Atlas's resolve blazed.

Something inside him snapped—then roared awake.

Crack!

A surge of power exploded outward from his core. His own Conqueror's Haki burst into life, darkening the skies. The pressure rolled across the battlefield like a storm front, felling Marines and pirates alike.

Whitebeard's Haki met his head-on. It didn't crush him.

"Hahaha! Kid, you keep surprising me!" Garp laughed, eyes alight.

"Gulalalala~ Not bad at all. More Marine blood here than I expected. Want to join me as a son?" Whitebeard asked, half-joking but wholly impressed.

"Hey! Whitebeard, you ignoring the rest of us?" Garp barked.

"Gura Gura—Whirl!"

Whitebeard slammed Murakumogiri into the air. Space itself cracked; the sea surged into a towering tsunami aimed at the Marine fleet.

Gulp.

Marines who had never faced him before trembled. So… this is the strongest man in the world?

Whispers passed through the ranks—Whitebeard's Tremor-Tremor Fruit, the peak of Paramecia, could shatter the sea itself.

Tsuru stepped forward.

With a wave of her hand, her Devil Fruit power took hold. The roaring waves flattened into still, reflective glass.

Relieved, cheers broke out.

"She stopped a hundred-meter tsunami like it was nothing! Vice Admiral Tsuru is unmatched!"

Akainu strode forward. "Whitebeard—someone's dying today." His arms turned to molten magma, heat waves distorting the air.

Whitebeard didn't move.

A blur of blue light streaked from the deck—Marco's phoenix wings cut through the sky. His blazing talons clashed with Akainu's magma in an explosion of red and blue sparks.

"Can't let you harass Pops so soon," Marco said with a grin.

"Gulalalala… magma-brained kid—trying to blow out my candles?" Whitebeard chuckled.

Akainu snorted, saying nothing.

All eyes turned to Garp.

"Laugh while you can, Whitebeard. I'm not going down today!" Garp vaulted into the air with Geppo, fist cocked.

"Gulalalala… Now we're talking, Garp!" Whitebeard readied Murakumogiri, Tremor Haki shattering the air.

Their clash shook the seas. The roar of the impact sent waves rolling outward for miles.

Meanwhile, Akainu fought Marco and Vista. Marco's regeneration kept him in the fight, while Vista's blades kept Akainu on the defensive.

The Whitebeard Pirates' strength dropped sharply beyond their top division commanders—but it was enough to hold the Marine lines.

Even so, Whitebeard showed signs of age.

For now, the battle was evenly matched. But that balance would break once Shuten and Kaki arrived.

Atlas carved his way through the fray, felling pirate after pirate—until his gaze landed on a heavyset man battling a Marine major.

His eyes narrowed.

Blackbeard.

"Hey! Marine brat! I've had my eye on you for a while!"

A tall, dark-skinned man with no eyebrows and a chest clad in armour suddenly stepped into Atlas's path.

It was none other than Whitebeard's Third Division Commander—Diamond Jozu, wielder of the Shiny-Shiny Fruit!

Atlas studied the towering figure before him, his expression turning serious. In terms of sheer physical strength, he was still slightly inferior to Jozu.

But with the talismans at his side, fear was the last thing on his mind. The more he used them, the more he realised how little he truly understood about their depths.

As his power grew, so too did the true nature of the talismans reveal itself—reminiscent of the way the "Holy Lord" wielded them in legend.

It felt as though the power within the talismans was slowly awakening inside him.

"Shining Crash!"

Jozu, receiving no response, coated his arms in a brilliant diamond sheen. Under the sunlight, they glimmered dazzlingly as he launched himself at Atlas like a cannonball!

"Tekkai: Armament!"

Boom! The impact roared like thunder. Atlas winced slightly, clutching his chest—it hurt, but not enough to slow him down.

Thanks to the Horse Talisman's incredible healing abilities, such wounds were nothing more than an inconvenience.

"Not bad at all—you've got some bite if you dare to challenge Pops," Jozu muttered, narrowing his eyes at Atlas's unharmed figure.

"Diamond Jozu… I heard you were the quiet type. Why so talkative today?"

Jozu almost tripped over his own feet. Quiet? Me? I'm just not chatty, that's all!

"Shut it! What kind of nonsense is this brat spewing!?" Irritated, Jozu coated his diamond arm with Armament Haki and swung a punch at Atlas.

"You little punk! Taste the power of my diamond fists!"

"Hmph! Tekkai Kenpo: Armament—Smash!"

Atlas's blood surged, his Armament Haki hardening like steel. He met Jozu's massive diamond fist head-on.

"That's it? Feels more like a massage!" Their fists locked in midair, the air between them trembling as they pushed against each other. Atlas's arms bulged with power.

Ox Talisman—Super Strength!

Boom!

Jozu's massive frame was blasted backwards, crashing into the deck of the Moby Dick with an earthshaking impact, a thick cloud of dust erupting around him.

Atlas wasn't convinced he had landed a decisive blow—everyone knew: when there's smoke, there's usually no real damage.

"No way… did he just send Commander Jozu flying?"

"Oi, what the hell? That brat's way too young for this!"

The pirates on the Moby Dick were visibly shaken. Two exchanges, and Jozu had been sent soaring? Unthinkable.

"Oi! Quit your yapping—I wasn't defeated!"

Jozu emerged from the dust, his expression dark—but then again, his skin was always dark. The diamond armour covering his body gleamed, completely unscathed. The crew let out a collective sigh of relief.

"Shining Crash!"

"Tekkai: Armament—Tekizan!"

Boom!

The Shiny-Shiny Fruit granted Jozu a diamond body with near-impenetrable defence, even without Haki. If not for Atlas's overwhelming Haki reserves, Jozu could have worn him down through sheer endurance.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fists clashed like pounding war drums in a relentless rhythm. Jozu's raw durability made him nearly unbreakable, while Atlas's regeneration and Haki kept him firmly in the fight.

It became a brutal slugfest—two human fortresses trading blows, abandoning defence for raw offence.

"Gurararara… Not bad, kid! You're giving Jozu a real workout!" Whitebeard chuckled, watching the clash with mild surprise.

"Galaxy!"

Garp's punch suddenly crashed into the scene. "Hahahaha! Whitebeard, didn't anyone ever tell you not to drop your guard in the middle of a fight!?"

"Divide!"

Boom!

Whitebeard raised Murakumogiri just in time to block Garp's iron fist, the shockwave rippling through the battlefield.
