Chapter 48 : Preparing for the War.
- Shin –
I looked around to see the members of mine and Rias' peerages except my Queen all summoned in front of me.
Merlin, Rosswiesse and Hermione, were looking around the place to see if it was a different world. Jibril looked like a child in a candy store looking around the place in interest. Meredith was also interested but was keeping it wrapped under the tsundere act. Koneko and Morgiana were looking at the place in amazement while holding onto Kuroka.
Sakuya was babysitting a panicking Gasper while Asia, Luna and Ingvild were actually too confused to think of anything. On second thought, Luna was probably not bothered at all. Lavinia, Suzaku and Akeno on the other hand were very calm.
Kiba was relatively calm, taking a look around the place. Fighting against Valper helped him let go of his grudges and made him much more calmer.
It was Shion who broke the silence and ran quickly to me. "Shin-sama, I am sorry for not being able to follow you to this world and leave you unattended. I apologize for my absence and promise to work harder next time."
Hah.
"It's fine Shion. I doubt you could have followed me to this place. You did nothing wrong."
"Is this a different world? What kind of world is this? I have never been to a different world before nyaa." Kuroka purred as she went around the place.
"I will explain everything to everyone soon enough. Let's get back to the base first."
"Are these people new members?" Merlin asked, looking at the crew.
"They are my crew, yes. Whether they want to join the peerage or not, is on them. I don't want to force anyone." I took this moment to introduce everyone to each other while we walked towards our base.
Whisky Peak was a weird place.
"Is this a ship?" Akeno asked, looking at our ship. I had placed an order with the Galley La Company for a new ship but it will need one more week to be built. It was to take a chance and get Franky's copy of the Pluton's Designs. Unfortunately Franky was not in town back then.
"Yes, it is."
"It looks like a pirate ship." Kuroka said, getting a mischievous look on her face. "Are you a pirate nyaa? Are you going to kittynyaap me and have your evil ways with me nyaa?"
"Onee-chan!" Koneko became red instantly while Morgiana blushed and lowered her head too. The others merely shook their heads being used to the ways of Kuroka already.
"I am a Pirate Hunter so you don't have to worry about that….but I can always kittynap you if you want?"
Inside, a feast had already been arranged before I started the summoning.
It was Rindo's way of trying to reduce the impact that she feared was coming at the reveal of our relationship despite me reassuring her.
"Wow, the food looks amazing. You sure went all out for the welcome party." Merlin commented as we took our seats. Sakuya had taken the role of serving everyone while Rindo helped.
"Obviously. Rindo-chan worked for hours to make this feast. It was bound to be good. She is the best cook in the world" Nami said quite smugly. During this time, the relationship between the girls in the crew had deepened a lot. Robin was the one who was at the lowest relationship score with me but even she was warming up genuinely to the girls. It was obviously not to the levels of post Enies Lobby Robin and the Straw Hats but still much better than I was expecting.
"I am Shin-sama's cook cum bodyguard." Shion stared at Nami.
"Shion." I stopped the bomb before it could blast. "Taste the food first."
"Yes, Shin-sama." She took one bite in her mouth. Her body froze.
The others looked at her odd behavior and took a bite of their own food and then….there was silence….well except the sound of eating.
No one bothered to talk.
-Scene Change –
A full twenty minutes later, we sat in the common room of the ship.
Shion had taken a willing apprenticeship under Rindo. No one disagreed. Even Sakuya had given up the kitchen to Rindo after tasting the food and that is saying something. Shion can be stubborn but she is nothing compared to Sakuya in such matters.
"So now that we are all introduced. Let me tell you guys about this world. This world is mostly covered by water with small to massive islands all over the world. The world is divided into four parts by a Huge Mountain Range that runs across the entire world making a ring around it. It is called the Redline. There is a stretch of ocean with weird weather perpendicular to the Redline called the Grand Line with two narrow belts of ocean on both its sides where no wind flows and inhabited gigantic sea creatures making it impossible to pass through normal means. Oh and when I say gigantic, I mean absolutely HUGE. To give you an idea, one of my allies is a city on the back of an elephant that travels the sea on foot. It is thirty five kilometers tall. That's ten kilometers under the sea, and fifteen kilometers above it. It eats apples that grow on Sky Islands which are islands that are located on clouds ten thousand kilometers above the sea level." I saw their open jawed looks and I'll be honest, it was satisfying. One Piece world may have a low power level but in terms of weirdness, it is probably one of the best ones out there.
Merlin took a moment to organize the information and asked, "What do you mean by weird weather?"
"Hmm, good question. Each island, even ones a few tens of kilometers away from each other can have a drastically different climate. There is an island that I know of which has forty eight seasons per year. There is another one that I know of where the sun never sets….all on the Grand Line."
"BUT that doesn't make any sense. The seasons are caused due to the planet's movements around the sun. How can there be such a case? Are you sure there are not localized dimensions with their personalized weathers set by the creators?" Hermione quipped and I saw Merlin smirking at the girl.
"That would be true….if I hadn't sensed the leylines in the Grand Line destroyed making the entire magic flow of the place chaotic."
The magicians in the place had their eyes wide and mouths hung open at the reveal while the others stared at them in confusion.
"I have heard about it before when Shin was muttering to himself. Is it something that serious? It has been like that since we have known it. I mean since the last seven hundred years. The history between seven hundred and eight hundred years ago was wiped out and any research into it is banned. It is known as the Void Century." Robin asked, looking at the abnormal reaction of the magicians. She is a scholar through and through and this subject is also personal for her.
"If the Leylines were destroyed, then I can see why they hid the history. If people truly knew what they were doing, they would have been lynched by the public. Tell me, is there a magical community in this world?"
Robin shook her head. "No. None that I know of."
She looked at me and I affirmed. "There was an ancient kingdom eight hundred years ago and that might have been a kingdom of magicians or extremely advanced scientific people because I have seen some of their inventions and those people were truly geniuses. They have managed to make a cross between an Evil Piece and a Sacred Gear to bestow magic powers albeit a single kind to the people who couldn't even use magic. Moreover they had a completely different runic language. I could decipher some of them but with each one I find, there are a bunch of new runes waiting to be rediscovered. It's like those people were also leaving their knowledge of runes along with their messages on the Poneglyphs."
"What are these poneglyphs?"
"They are large blocks of stone enchanted internally with runes with messages carved on them which contain the history of the Void Century. The World Government has banned all research of Poneglyphs." Robin answered.
"The World Government?"
"They are a collection of twenty countries that created the World Government. Nineteen of them went to the top of the Redline and have ruled the world for the last eight hundred years while that era's king of Alabasta remained to look over his people. He was removed from the World Government's twenty countries. This organization controls the Marines, the biggest military organization in the world. They collect tax known as the Heavenly Gold from the nations that join them every year in order to provide them with protection."
"That does sound reasonable."
"Oh, if it only were so. The World Government's founding members and their descendants are called the World Nobles or the Celestial Dragons."
"I sense something bad here." Hermione said, her face turning into a frown.
"Remember the purebloods back from the Wizarding World? Malfoy and the others." She nodded. "Reduce the number of families to eleven and give them all the powers I just said….that's who is ruling right now." Her face blanched. "They call others inferior creatures and wear bubble hoods so that they don't have to breathe the same air as normal people." Fleur had a hint of rage in her eyes and I recalled the bias she had to endure in her time in the Tri-Wizard Tournament. "They can take whoever they want as slaves for no other reason than because they wanted to. Everyone has to kneel when a Celestial Dragon passes by and if anyone forgets or even has any problems, for say a four year old child, they will be killed….shot to be precise. Their hobbies are buying slaves and torturing them. All of them are branded and they will be chased by the whole world if they are branded. The Marines will help them do it. They can shoot anyone to death without any penalties and if….if even one of them is hurt by anyone, the highest fighting force of the Marines is dispatched. Those idiots call themselves the descendants of Gods. I kinda wonder how Michael and oh yeah…. Uriel would feel about that."
"Michael, Uriel?" Law looked at me and questioned.
"Archangels from the Abrahamic Pantheon. Michael is the current leader of the Angels." Hermione threw the information casually.
"Angels? Like real angels? Do they really exist?" Nami jumped, asking in surprise.
I saw Asia looking at me and gave her a smile.
She must have been pained hearing the sufferings of the people.
"They are. God created them all to look over mankind and guide them. Those Celestial Dragons cannot be children of God. Such bad people…." I saw her clenching her fists.
Everyone looked at Asia in surprise.
Rightfully so.
The girl is finally growing up.
"So is that our plan? Take down the World Government." Rias asked, looking at me.
"Long term, Yes. It's just that, the world is at a very strange balance right now with the World Government backed by the Marines and the Pirates. The Revolutionaries are working but compared to the three main forces, they are nothing. The Marines maintain the peace of the World no matter how convoluted their justice is. I could just nuke them all but that would cause the Pirates to crowd over all the people and it would be a world of chaos….so, the Marines cannot die. The World Government is not so easy however. They….are the people who took out the kingdom which was advanced enough to make something near the levels of Evil Pieces and Sacred Gears. I'd bet a limb that they have a trump card of sorts. I did infiltrate their city and The Tree of Eve had MASSIVE amounts of magic in it. So much so that I couldn't even risk apparrating around the area. They also have a huge amount of slaves in Mariejois and I cannot get all of them out at once." They can be good allies if they are freed and I am not wasting resources. I also have a quest for it.
"Magic eh. I would like to take a look at this tree." Merlin said curiously. She then raised an eyebrow.
"So….you plan to separate the World Government from the Marines. You do understand that it is basically trying to separate the army of a country from their government."
"Normally that would be difficult but….these Marines are not bound by their feelings for their country but rather the 'Justice' in their own hearts."
"….and justice is different for everyone."
"Umu. I want you to start investigating the Poneglyphs, Merlin."
"I'd need samples." Merlin said, looking at Robin and me.
"Good thing we will be collecting these from now on. I have a few on hand and I know the location of another few. It's a good thing that Robin is probably one of the last ones who know how to read the ancient text."
"Heh that isn't rather convenient." She smirked and Robin returned her smile.
"You said that taking down the World Government is a long term goal. So, what's the short term one?" Rias asked when the matter settled down.
"The short term goal is to train for a war in less than two weeks. We have to fight one of the strongest pirate crews in this world to free a country. Now, this world might be underdeveloped in magic for normal people but the physical skills of these people as well as the artifacts created by the Ancient Kingdom called Devil Fruits are very strong. These devil fruits are of three types, Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. Zoan can change the user into an animal, anything from a normal one like a house cat to a mythical creature like an eastern dragon. Logia grants the users the ability to create, control and elementize into a single element making them immune to normal physical attacks. Logia can even permanently change the geography of a place. Finally the fruits that don't fall under these two categories are called Paramecias. They can be something as stupid as the Snot Snot fruit to really ridiculous ones like Whitebeard's Tremor Tremor Fruit which causes space quakes and Charlotte Linlin's Soul Soul Fruit that can take the lifespan of others who feel fear of her in her presence and use it to bestow life on inanimate objects….I mean real life with personalities and all. There is also Haki which is like Touki and Senjutsu but works on willpower like magic instead of lifeforce. It is an extremely strong art that has three types. Observation, Armament and Conquerors. Observation enables the user to perceive high speed movements and even things in the dark. At the highest stage, it can perceive emotions and even see the future to predict the moves of an opponent. Armament is like Touki. There is also Conqueror's Haki but that one is innate and only born in rare people. Do not underestimate the people we are going to fight. In terms of physique, only Shion and I and to some extent Morgiana can fight them head on. Their leader is someone who can readily become a twelve winged class being if changed using the Evil Pieces."
I saw Rias' eyes light up at this. "So this world has many strong people, right."
"Many, yes. You can probably find very good Knights and Rooks in this world. There are more than a dozen swordsmen in this world whose skill rivals and even surpass that of Souji while with physiques that can simply crush Sairaorg with brute strength."
"Souji-sensei is the best swordsman in the entire underworld, Shin-senpai." Kiba interrupted. He was Souji's student and that might have been a bit insensitive to him but well….that's the simple truth.
"I know and that's why I said rival."
"Yes Kiba-kun, Roger-sensei is reincarnated into an iron puppet and is not even at his full power but he can still cut an island in half if he gives it his all and then there is Hawkeye, the greatest swordsman in the world. They are really very strong." Nojiko explained kindly to Kiba. I could see him doubting it and an idea came to my mind.
"A fight between two truly strong people can completely change the climate of an entire island permanently. The top Conqueror's Haki users can make entire armies lose consciousness with just a look and clashes between such Conqueror's Haki can even divide the entire sky." Law stated looking at the bratty knight.
"I will drop you to a place where Rayleigh is training a few friends. See how they practice and just how strong they are. If you can learn something from them, you can make very good progress. I mean no matter how many swords you make, it is of no use if you can't use it well."
He nodded his head. He has been much more respectful of me since the Kokabiel mess cleared up. The statement might have seemed rude to Souji but at least he didn't try to fight back which he would have before. Improvement is visible.
The dinner finished with everyone knowing each other better. They can bond better in the IDs when they fight together.
It was when we were going to our rooms, the girls decided to give Rias and me some time alone. Rias had always given them consideration and they had a mutual understanding among each other.

We don't even have any conflict of interest so helping them will only be of advantage for us." Rias explained her reasons and thinking about these things, she did have a point. Serafall was almost at full affection and just one point will max it out. If I get her to full affection, I would have an extremely powerful backing in the underworld.
"I will summon her soon. First let me establish a reasonable base for us to occupy. This current base is just not suitable. Amazon Lily is still under the Kuja who are our allies. Skypiea on the other hand is under the people of Sky Islands and the Shandians. I can occupy them easily with force but it is better to conquer them by tact but that might take some time. Wano is probably one of the best chances we will get. After that I will need people to administer these areas. I was planning to contact Serafall for that."
Rias looked a bit in thought but spoke after a while. "Actually, you can ask Ingvild for help."
"Ingvild?" I asked at the sudden mention of the name.
"Yes. She still has people who support her as the Leviathan descendant. The Oriax and other Leviathan supporters have been loyal to her for centuries and you can show them goodwill by letting them govern a territory. They will be loyal to Ingvild who in turn is loyal to you. You had promised them a part of the Leviathan territory but that was negotiation for Ingvild becoming your peerage member. This….however will be different. You can use this as a chance to establish a good relation with them as well as manage a huge territory at the same time. These people are among those who were very close to the Original Leviathan and are well versed in administration. Individuals who can administer territories are not easily trained and training them from ground up will take time and will be costly as well. This is the fastest method I could think of. There is also the House of Vepar that has been degraded out of the High Class Devil circle due to their financial conditions after the Civil Wars due to many of them siding with the Old Satan's. I am friends with Lilitifa Vepar who stays in Gremory Territory and does modeling for our clothing brands. The Vepar look like Mermaids and are almost prodigious with Water Magic and can use the power of the seas and oceans. They would be almost an invincible force in this world."
"Mermaid huh." I mused remembering the resident mermaid of this world.
"What happened? Don't tell me you are interested in her now?" she pouted at my comment.
I shook my head with a smile. "No. I was thinking about this world's Mermaid. The Mermaid Princess to be precise." I explained to her the power of Shirahoshi and the ancient weapons and saw her open mouthed look in utter satisfaction.
"T-that is really something."
"It is. The Ancient Weapons are called the powers to destroy the world for a reason. While the Sea Kings might not be dangerous to us individually, if they attack in groups, I have no doubt that they could be a force not to be trifled with."
"So, do you think that the Sea King might recognize the Vepar as invaders and try to attack them?"
"It is not outside the realm of consideration. I would hold them out till I can establish a friendly relationship with Fishman Island. Whitebeard is currently guarding Fishman Island and is friends with King Neptune. If I can help him with Wano, I can probably get a way into the Fishmen Island and meet Shirahoshi."
"I really need to read this thing as soon as possible to get an idea about this world." Rias said, shaking her head slightly.
"Your idea was very nice. If we can get the support of Shirahoshi, then maybe we can also allow the Vepar to safely settle in this world."
We discussed a few more things after which I got ready. Sakuya and Rias followed me out to the meeting room.
I saw something unexpected outside.
Law vs Kiba in a spar and the result was as expected, a one sided beating of Kiba.
I mean sure the Sword Birth is good and all but Law has been training with the help of the training potions under the Pirate King the whole day and then grinding IDs at night for the last month. He was easily able to counter all of Kiba's moves, effectively rendering the Knight's speed useless with Observation. Armament was used to easily crack any special swords made by Kiba and in terms of special powers, Law's Ope Ope no Mi was just too much for the knight to handle. The difference in strengths of the two parties is just too much.
I remember Law being able to cut off a mountain after two years and with our training regime, he is not far from that level.
"So, what's up with that?" I asked Kuroka who was eating fish made by Rindo. I saw this yesterday but the cat trio were the ones who were the most impressed with Rindo because she conquered the gluttons easily with food.
"Pretty boy wanted to see how people in this world fight. Dr. Grouchy handed him his ass on a silver platter. He almost pissed himself when Dr. Grouchy had cut off his limbs and jumbled them nyahahaha. That was indeed scary nyaa. I almost dropped my fish chips."
"This Haki is rather interesting. I can see why you were so interested in this. The only one left for me to see is the Conqueror's Haki. Can you use it?" Merlin asked from the side, taking notes.

"So you do have that."
"Yes. I just need to unlock it."
"Is there any way to find for sure if someone has that ability or not. If I can find out then I might just devise a method to forcibly awaken it."
"None that I know of. You will have to talk to my teacher or Rayleigh. They are more knowledgeable about the subject."
I went to the deck and saw Asia cleaning the deck with Nojiko and a thought struck me.
"Asia."
The girl walked to me with a smile.
"I have something for you. It will help you to improve your abilities a lot. Would you like to try it?"
"Yes." She nodded her head without a shred of doubt.
I brought out a small crystal ball which was my latest artifact containing the spirit I had extracted from the Human Human Fruit, Model: Archangel. Changing it into an artifact isolated the effects of the Devil fruits just like how the God of the Bible had locked away some of Ddraig's abilities, I locked away the devil fruit's weaknesses. I will remove them completely when I get my powers back completely. For now it can act as a means to improve Asia who is probably the weakest member of my peerage currently despite being an Eight Winged Devil. This will improve her physical stats like the Zoan Devil Fruits.
I'd love to see the looks on the faces of those Church bastards when they see this Asia.
"You will know what to do with this on your own." With that said, I pushed the crystal into her chest.
A golden light appeared around her, completely enveloping her and soon enough twelve pure white wings which seemed to glow with light sprouted from her back as a golden halo appeared on her head.
The girl herself looked completely dumbfounded by the changes and looked at her wings in absolute awe. And then something happened which I was not prepared for. Tears appeared in her eyes. I am not good with crying girls, especially girls like Asia.
"Umm, if you didn't like it, you can tell me."
"N-no, t-this….thank you, th-thank you." she stuttered and I hugged the poor girl to console her. It might have been too much happiness for the girl.
After she calmed down a little, I asked her about her abilities.
The Human Human Fruit, Model: Archangel is similar to that of the Human Human Fruit, Model: Golden Buddha and Kaido's Fish Fish Fruit, Model: Blue Dragon as in, it has multiple abilities.
The first one I noticed was the aura that Asia gave off now was similar to that of Hancock, yet a bit different. They both had an aura that made people want to worship them but in Asia's case it was because of respect instead of lust as in the case of Hancock. I observed her stats and her Physical Stats increased significantly. It was obviously far from Vice Admirals or something but it is still more than a Rear Admiral and that is a LOT. She had access to light weaponry and Merlin the every curious tested that she can harm Devils using that light while the light doesn't harm her in the slightest. Last but not least, she has a healing ability which uses a White coloured light which was not harmful to Devils. This ability can be used with her Twilight Healing and increases the effect of the Sacred Gear by a tremendous amount.
I noticed another interesting thing. Since Asia could already use magic freely, the Devil fruit seemed much stronger when it was not changing her physical energy into magical energy. I have a hypothesis that Awakening is actually the ability of the user to synchronize with the Devil Fruit's spirit to temporarily use its abilities to the fullest extent, the primary of which is the ability to use magic. Since Asia can already use magic, Awakening will be much easier for her to achieve and will cost Magic Power directly instead of Physical Energy and will be maintained for a much longer time because of this.
I think Asia can achieve the Awakening which will be the equivalent of the Balance Breaker of my artifact with some experience. When she gets experience with it, I will try to merge this artifact with her Twilight Healing and see if the effect is increased further.
It is already a Legend Ranked artifact because I used the Epic Ranked artifact and sealed the Devil Fruit spirit inside it upgrading it.
There is also another experiment involved with this.
Since my customer base will include mostly magic users, maybe, just maybe, I can use this to replicate the effects. If Asia's DNA is changed with the Archangel Fruit, she will gain the ability, Devil Fruit or not. Maybe not as strong as the original without the spirit but nearly the same.
I need to check the effects of the Zoan on other magic users of the DxD world and see if it can induce effects like the Lycanthropy curse of the Wizarding World or induce an Animagus-like form in people forcibly.
Asia was surrounded by everyone very soon. Luna was brushing her wings with a dazed smile and I know whom to give the copied Archangel Fruit to after this.
"So these are the so-called Devil Fruits. Do you have a method to produce them? Any more samples? Where can we find them?" Merlin asked, all the while taking notes of the result of Asia's transformation.
"I haven't figured out the method of producing them completely. I do have some data from my observations of these Devil Fruits when I tested some of my hypotheses for them." I handed her the file and a dozen common Devil Fruits. "Be careful to not let the spirit inside the Devil Fruit escape. I have already attached the Devil Fruit encyclopedia with the file. Oh and yes Robin, I got new Poneglyphs." I waved my hand and the five poneglyphs appeared on the deck.
"I received a message from Roger that Whitebeard and he will be heading to Zou. They will decide the final plan when they reach there. Shanks has arranged for some raw materials that you had asked him for but you will have to take care of the rest yourself." Law informed me.
"Okay. Can you guide everyone's Haki training? I'll be running out to collect the supplies." He nodded.
"I need to meet my crew too. They will be arriving at the Whisky Peak soon."
"Sure."
I had breakfast with the rest of the crew while getting them caught up with everything in this world.
- Scene Change –
I walked on the streets of Water Seven from Iceberg's office after checking on the status of my ship.
My Shadow Servants were already dispatched to seek my other targets as soon as I landed on the island.
The ship was coming along well but the better news was that both of my targets were on this island at the moment.
I spread my Observation when I was inside a hotel room sensing someone keeping an eye on me. I made sure to expose myself to the general people as I entered the room to create an alibi for what will happen next. I changed into Rob Lucci and made a few shadow clones that changed into the other members of the CP9 and we Shadow Walked towards the Franky House while only a single Shadow Clone stayed in the room in front of the window.
- Scene Change –
The entire Franky House was turned on its head as the Pluton Designs were snatched away. A certain person(another shadow clone) took this opportunity to inform Spandam.
In the confusion of the moment, I changed into my Dio persona and directly apparrated to my next target – Blueno.
A quick strike with an Armament infused fist and the CP9 agent was knocked unconscious and turned into a candy and I finally left the place, changing back to my normal appearance once inside my room and away from the window.
Today will be a chaotic one in Water Seven.
- Scene Change –
I 'officially' left Water Seven, the next day.
Rob Lucci and his associates had defected and Spandam was raging and even tried to start a Buster Call on Water Seven but after the recent failures, the World Government didn't allow it without a decent reason.
The funny thing was that the Marines had issued a lookout order for Golden Lion Shiki all of a sudden as his bounty was renewed once more. This caused a lot of noise in the whole world.
I couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation and imagine the confused look that would have appeared on Shiki's face when he learned of what happened.
- Scene Change –
I was in another disguise as I had landed on the Gran Tesoro, the gigantic ship and the biggest casino in the world which was also the home to my next target.
I went ahead to enjoy myself while my shadows laid in wait for the right opportunity inside the shadow of Gild Tesoro.
There was another person I was interested in on this ship. The user of the Luck Luck Fruit.
I want to extract the spirit of the Luck Luck Devil Fruit from her and use an artifact to help in the change of physical to magical energy.
It will also remove her weakness of the Devil fruit so it will be a win-win situation. It's just that, she doesn't need to know that yet.
It was late at night when I sensed Tesoro alone in his room and took the opportunity to sneak in. I cast some privacy spells and pulled the same trick as I had done earlier with Crocodile and Enel and moments later I had a handcuffed richest man in the world sitting in front of me.
The man however looked utterly unbothered by his situation. He was actually calm unlike how Robin had been previously.
"Who are you and how much do you want?" he relaxed, crossing his legs while his hands were still cuffed and the Devil fruit powers restrained.
"Eh….what makes you think I need money from you?"
"Hahahaha I am the richest man in the world. Everyone wants my money, the pirates, the world government, the four emperors, everyone. Just tell me how much you want, I have to take a nap now."
….
I won't lie, I was truly surprised by the nonchalant attitude of the person.
But then again I wouldn't doubt it if he had encountered this situation before this.
I smiled. "Well you are wrong about two things here." His face shifted to a frown so I continued. "First, you are not the richest man in this world, I am. Second, I don't need your money. Even if I wanted it, I could always rob you. Why would I ask you for it?" I chuckled at this time. He looked ready to complain so I interrupted beforehand not wanting to waste more time than necessary. "My apologies, I didn't introduce myself first. Then again, you never gave me the chance so let me take this moment to introduce myself first. Hello Gild Tesoro, I am the current richest man in the world….Dio….Dio Brando."
That's the expression I was looking for.
Dio-sama trumps all.
The man paled for a moment but soon collected himself but this time there were visible beads of sweat on his forehead. "What do you want?" He asked again but this time his voice was much more serious.
"The question here should be 'what do you want, Gild Tesoro?"
"What do you mean? If you want something, just say it. Don't give me these riddles."
"I am not giving you any riddles? I am just asking what it is that you really want."
He frowned and then a look of realization came to him and his frown turned into a smirk, "Heh, the Devil of the Seas is really something, trying to recruit even me."
"I won't lie. That is my goal after all but that still doesn't answer my question. What is it that you want?"
"Me….I want you to leave and never come back here again. What, can you do that?" His mocked.
….
Oh boy. He should have kept a leash on his tongue.
"Hmm sure. I will. The only way I will stop and return is if you kneel on the top of your ship for a full day and night with all the things in this list."
He became stunned at my words but I continued "But before leaving let me show you a small demonstration of my powers". He paled. "Oh don't worry, I'm not going to destroy or kill anyone. Despite all the bounty I have here, I haven't really killed any innocent people. Now watch, Speak with the Dead, Stella."
A translucent spirit formed in front of the now frozen man.
I didn't give him any chance to speak and popped away from the place. People like him are too deeply rooted in his ways and need to be kicked properly to shake them awake. I did the same with Akeno. Who the fuck does this bastard think he is?"
My shadows will keep a watch on the place. At the end of the week, if there are not enough materials and he doesn't agree till the end of the week….Gran Tesoro will be changing owners.
- Scene Change –
I came back to my base.
The training was going on at the usual pace except the ID runs because I was keeping track of the events in Water Seven. Shanks would be meeting me at the next meeting.
Law was on the deck, teaching everyone Haki.
They noticed my arrival and turned towards me.
Law gave everyone a break and Rindo served food already having prepared everything
"So how is the Haki training going?" I asked taking a seat.
Rias came and sat beside me.
"It's hard. Even with the Training Potions, we still haven't gotten a hint about it. The only ones with any type of success are Morgiana and Koneko."
Koneko looked smug even with her usual nonchalant façade.
"It is indeed a great power and has quite some similarities with Touki and Senjutsu in its enhancement and detection aspects but different." Rosseweisse said excitedly.
"It is very hard nyaa." Kuroka pouted.
"Try binding your senses of sight, smell and hearing for the entire day while trying to dodge attacks. That is probably the fastest way of awakening Observation. As for Armament, that would be harder. It will be especially harder for us because we have magic and our senses are enhanced. If possible, bind your magic as well. It will awaken in a few days with the training potion and a week at best without them."
"Roger called while you were gone. They will be arriving at Whitebeard's place by the evening. He asked you to meet Shanks and bring him incognito to Whitebeard's meeting room. Frequent meetings between the two Emperors can cause the Marines and the World Government to be jumpy." Law explained as he got to eating.
"Okay. Any results on the Poneglyphs?"
"I noted the history on the poneglyphs already." Robin explained.
"It has many new runes which I haven't seen yet. We are deciphering them currently. Your notes helped but they are not complete. Hermione and Rossweisse are taking care of the deciphering while I work on the Devil Fruits. These things are quite fascinating. Providing a bloodline power of sorts through a curse was nothing new but using it in this fashion was indeed innovative. I think we can recreate them with some work." Merlin spoke.
"Really? You can recreate the spirit part too?"
"The spirit part is the real reason behind its power. If I am not wrong then if an animal is fed a zoan type devil fruit matching them, they will gain more power or attain what you call awakening sooner. It is because their souls are already compatible and almost in resonance with the spirit. Others will need to figure out this thing on their own and thus the awakening part is harder. I would like some samples to work with, some Zoan type devil fruits. If my hypothesis is right, then someone who is aligned to a specific element will have greater chances to awaken the Devil Fruit of that nature. A fire mage with the Flame Flame fruit, Ice Mage with the Ice Ice Fruit and all." she explained further.
That does explain some things.
The jailor beasts in Impel Down were all awakened Devil Fruit users but were still animalistic. It might be that they were actually real animals.
"I know of a place where there are many devil fruit users. We just have to make sure to replace them with fakes properly. They will be very hard to subdue as well."
"Eh….is there really such a place?" Merlin asked as an excited glint appeared in her eyes.
"There is."
"Which place?" Law asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Impel Down."

"ARE YOU FUCKING MAD!?" He blurted out before he could realize it, "Ah, don't answer that, I forgot about it but now I remember."
I saw Jibril and Shion's narrowed eyes but they didn't snap luckily.
"I get that this Impel Down place is not nice?"
"Not nice is putting it lightly. Impel Down is the biggest prison in the world where the most dangerous criminals are kept. Devil Fruits generally scatter around the world after the users die and reform in a specific fruit anywhere in the world. This can cause some more dangerous fruits to fall in the hands of dangerous people if the previous user is killed. To prevent this, the World Government keeps all Devil Fruit users locked away for their entire lifetimes."
"So there must be hundreds of Devil Fruit users."
"Maybe. I do know that there are some very good ones there." I said remembering the sixth level of Impel Down.
"So when are we going?"
"As soon as I get a proper drug capable of knocking out those monsters. The real monsters in the prison all have Ultimate Class strength at the minimum despite being locked up and underfed for years. In the meanwhile I have to prepare a few things before tonight's meeting." Thinking of something, I turned towards Asia. "Asia, tonight I want you to come with me. I need your help regarding some matters."
The girl nodded enthusiastically at me with a smile.
We talked about a few more things after which I went to my lab and proceeded with my experiments.
I extracted the Devil Fruit spirits from Enel and Blueno and stored them in crystals.
The Rumble Rumble Fruit was changed into a Sacred Gear with the help of Ciel's flames of the Phoenix boosting my mana reserves and my Miracle Maker Title's boost.
As for the Door Door Fruit, I bound that with Arondight.
It can now cut doors to wherever I need to go with a single thought. A makeshift Caliburn with extra power.
I also made some from the spirits of the Devil fruits I had stolen from Mariejois like the Crush Crush Fruit, the Bird Bird Fruit, Model: Vermilion Bird, etc.
The last part where I made some artifacts with only one function, to change the physical energy to magical energy. It is basically to enable those whose Devil Fruit spirits have been extracted to still be able to use their powers. The only good thing with it is that the part of the weakness of the sea is removed with the removal of the Devil Fruit spirit and that can help me promote this very easily. I don't think anyone sane would say no to having their weakness to still water and Seastone removed.
It was already evening by the time I was done with the experiments and it was time to meet Roger.
I went out of my lab to see a very strange sight.
Everyone was gathered around the table with Gasper at the forefront holding a piece of paper.
They noticed me and Gasper shouted, "Senpai, it-it-it's D-Dio. There is a Dio Brando here in this world."
The poor kid was shivering.
"Heh, isn't that nice. You can meet him if you want."
"Wha…no no no no. Dio is baaaad. I don't wannaaaaa."
"But you can always fight him to show that you are better. You know, that you are approaching me scene like Jotaro."
Before I could tease him further, Rias grabbed my arms. "How is Dio in this world? Did you summon him? Did you get a summoning permission for Dio? Do you have a stand?"
Ah.
"I do know Dio." I looked towards my crew and they apparently had too much fun to tell anyone about the truth of Dio Brando.
"Y-you know, Senpai?" Gasper peeked from Sakuya's lap.
"I do because…." I snapped my fingers and smoke appeared around me and I used Gaea Foundation to change myself amidst it, "IT IS ME, DIO."
The little vampire shrieked like a girl while the others burst in laughter.
Rias took a few moments to realize what had happened and pouted at me. "So you were using the name of Dio Brando to cause havoc all over the world."
"Umu."
"And the name Shin to solve problems and get on their good side."
"Yes."
"S-so Dio Brando is not real?" Gasper asked quietly.
"Oh he is real alright." Gasper panicked a little and Sakuya gave me 'the look' at teasing the poor child so I corrected myself, "He is just not in this world, Gasper. You don't have to worry about it."
"Hah….and I got so excited to see a Stand." Rias pouted.
I hugged her close to me and she relaxed in my arms, "I can always make an artifact like a stand. I do have something else planned for you though."
"Planned?"
"A certain Devil Fruit that would suit you quite well."
"Oh?" she asked, interested.
"It's a surprise. I do have something for others here though." I looked at the other girls, "Akeno, come here."
I took out the Rumble Rumble Fruit's artifact and pushed it into her chest. She seemed to have gotten the information about the power so she didn't say anything and tried to understand her new powers.
"Suzaku."
I had rarely talked with her so she was still a little hesitant around me.
"I found a Devil Fruit with the spirit of a Vermilion Bird inside it."
Her eyes widened. "There is a Vermilion Bird in this world?"
"There might have been. We will be fighting the Blue Dragon soon so I don't see why we can't have a Vermilion Bird. I also have one for the White Tiger. Anyways, I made it into an artifact and I think you can use it the best, that is if you want to try."
The girl closed her eyes, probably talking to her Vermilion Bird spirit and nodded after a few moments. "Alright."
I pressed the crystal into her chest and she too went to the side trying to understand her powers.
I then passed the Snow Fairy to Lavinia.
Her powers will be increased significantly with the Snow Fairy, enabling her to use Absolute Demise much more easily and for a longer time.
She and I had a strange relationship. The way she was recruited was….not pleasant to say the least but she surprisingly didn't resent me. I actually sensed that she was trying to run away from her previous group.
I will have to talk to her sometimes. Having a depressed teammate never ends well. Maybe Rias and the girls can talk to her too.
As they were busy experimenting with the newfound powers, I took Asia and left for Whitebeard's ship.

I tried to complete this chapter quickly because I might have to take a break for the next two weeks.
I will try to write but I am not comfortable using my mobile so I cannot guarantee the quality.
We finally have the group summoned and are almost on the date of the war. Shin has a few plans and raiding Impel Down is the next on the list.
Asia became an Archangel. Wonder what Gabriel will do when she sees that?
CP9 is in chaos.
Shin also collected the Blueprints of the Pluton and Tesoro will be doing some well needed self-reflection soon enough.
I was asked this part a lot, here's the answer.
I will be reaching the war part in two chapters at most and will continue the One Piece part for five at most before returning to DxD.
One Piece will be completed slowly in the background once Shin has a secure base in a different world to fall back to incase shit goes wrong in the DxD world.
