"We'll try again," said Hiro, a hacker from the underground group "/root." He had agreed to "install" a system for Kaito.
The machine hummed. Cables glowed. An artificial interface began to build—but before it could stabilize, everything flickered.
"Download failed. Object incompatible."
"That's impossible," Hiro muttered. "You have no locks. You don't even have a port. You're like… analog."
"Cool," said Kaito. "Am I retro or broken now?"
Hiro looked at him. "Neither. You're something that shouldn't exist anymore."
Kaito walked away. Confused. Angry. And a little proud.
