Chapter 1 - Cave and wolves: 1

A forest swaying with colossal trees, leaves as bright as a spring morning. In the horizon was a tree which pierced the heavens, and shone a bright gold which was seen everywhere in the Lands Between.

A horse galloping along, his rider clutching the reins tight. The man himseld was tall, unusually tall. His hair was a shade of white which seemed to indicate old age, yet his face was eternally stuck in his twenties.

His name was Theod, or Theodore J Maxwell his old name, a name he had forgotten in the thousands of years he has been around. From a far away land he came, and lands he travelled still in his journey, arriving from Earth.

Theod was riding on his horse, Jabawok, resting after a long life of adventure, supporting the champions of soul and blood, ring and flame. After every cycle, a world formed from nothing then destroyed and remade again, he lived through it all from beginning to end.

Now, he was riding his horse, and he was taking in the breeze. Despite the world which was bathed in unusual cruelty to those who forsook strength, it was cleaner than any country on earth. As he breathed, his eyes were a glow with a golden light, and it seemed to radiate a powerful magic.

"I haven't really stop to admire everything" he said in a voice that was rough yet elegant. "Years alive, yet I only now seemingly take it in" he muttered as he clutched the rains as Jabawok ran through the forest.

Theod closed his eyes, and as he opened them again he found himself away. He was atop his horse still, the reins clutched tight. He scanned the cave he was in calmly, instinct honed over thousands of years keeping him calm, or his immortal boredom.

He dismounted Jabawok and dismissed him back to his ring, and he reached for the sword at his waste. He unsheathed it, a longsword as black as night with a glowing red edge. Enma he called it, forged from dragons he stained with his hands and mind.

'A cave brimming with magic, but the magic is foreign to the arts I was knowing of' he made note of as he took his hand and pulled up on the power held within his being. A small light escaped his palms as he got a good look around.

It was a cave alright, an unusual one filled to the brim with foreign magic unlike the power of soul and ring. He stepped forward, and came up on an unusual creature. It was akin to Mimic tear of the tarnished, like a glob of viscous liquid.

He bent down his large frame and poked at the strange creature. It jiggled and then it moved away. 'It carried intelligence, and it also seems to be full of, or even made of, of the foreign magic' he thought as he picked up the creature.

It seemed to struggle, yet surrendered just as easily. Theod chuckled, for if the beast had eyes, it would have ran at the aura he emitted, constrained as though he made it be. He wondered something, and decided to test it out.

He put his hands on the viscous beast, and pulsed some magic of his own into it. He formed the magic in the beasts body and granted him the power of perception. It was only then he could feel the feeling of fright.

"Its alright, I wont cause you harm" he informed, yet there was now response. He ticked his head to the side and wondered if it could speak, and decided to grant it the privilege of voice.

"Woah! who are you?!" it screamed, and yet choked on his words in surprise. "Pretty rude to the one who gave you sight and voice" Theod informed him as the slime, as he now figured, seemingly bowed in apology.

"Gomennasai!" it said in japanese, yet the words automatically translated to him. The magic he used to grant sight and voice translated all who spoke to him, and it seemed the language could travel on the magic around them.

"Do you know where we are?" asked the slime towards Theod who shook his head no. "Ney, I just got here myself, through means I do not think are weak" he muttered to the slime as he nodded. "So you just ended up here?" "Well, I was in a forst riding my horse, and when I blinked I was here" Theod informed.

"Ah, I was kinda stabbed before I got here" said the slime who then reacted in sudden surprise. "What's wrong? Have you come up on a revelation?" Theon wondered as the slime apologized. "Ah no, I was hearing a voice in my head called Great Sage" he informed.

"An ability then?" Theod wondered. "A skill it called itself, a unique skill that was born before I reincarnated here, along with another one called Predator" the slime informed him. "Can you use them?" asked Theod before the slime shook his head. "Not really, they need time to settle, but I can use basic functions like storing things and analysing them" the slime informed him.

"Ah, what a useful skill. Anyhow, we must get going" Theod informed as they went deeper in the cave, and many days have passed. To Theod who lived a life longer than any man, it felt very short, but the slime felt it was a long time.

"How long has it been?!" he complained as he was informed of the time by his skill. It appeared they spent some time down here, around 50 days. Theod and the slime were taking their time, not in a worry about things which they both thought was refreshing.

They even started collecting the rocks and minerals of the place, the herbs too. While the slime took majority, Theod collected a vast amount himself in his endless inventory, a power he gained a long his journey. It came in great handy.

It seemed stocked with all the things he collected over his journey, spells and trinkets and rings and weapons of all kinds, mundane and magical alike.

He even had his healing items and such. Of course, there was the edition of the new items he aquirred in the cave he was gonna experiment later with. "Well, the cave is a large place, plus we took our time" said Theod as he put more material back. "I guess so" the slime relented.

"We haven't had to eat nor drink, breathing doesn't seem to be a problem for me. you?" he asked Theod who shook his head, long outgrowing the need for breath and food, a being like him did not need them.

"Well, I still feel like we have been here forever" the slime complained as he fell into the lake infront of them. Theod debating on helping him, but it seemed it was unneeded. The slime seemingly rocketed away from Theod, who sprinted after him, overtaking him through his sheer speed, shattering his former spot.

The slime slammed into a barrier of some kind, and it didn't take a moment for them to understand its purpose. Inside the barrier, was a monster born of fantasy yet the aura Theod could pick out was one that was equal in power, yet that seemed to be lacking a crucial element.

It didn't take a long time before Theod understood where the magic came from in this cave. The dragon, with scales a pitch black, spear like claws, and wings of huge might, spikes protruding from his head swooped back, and his eyes full of a glowing power that held the wrath of nature behind it.

"Who stands before me, beings of might and weakness?!" it shouted, its very voice shaking the cave to its core and the water rippling at its touch. "Who you calling weak Baldy!?" shouted the slime with reckless abandon, causing Theod to slap himself out of exasperation.

'Maybe I'm being harsh, he hasn't lived with dragons' he thought, yet the feeling of wanting to call him an idiot was bubbling beneath the surface.

"Who you calling baldy weak one" the dragon uttered, no question for it was obvious what happened. "Sorry!" the slime said, defaulting to its Japanese kindness when he got in trouble.

"Hmph, I have no need to acknowledge the insult, for I am more intrigued than not" he said as he craned its looming neck down as far as he could muster. "For I wonder how you, a slime could existe here, and how another like me has appeared without the announcement of the world" he said as he turned to look at Theod.

Theod, whose strength was so large and fantastical, it may have taken the world a minute to process his arrival, and cause a delay in announcement.

[A/N: Hey guys back with a new fanfiction, inspired by A Song of Grace and Fury. I like the fact it took the elements from Elden ring in Game of Thrones, so I decided to try it out. I have the series somewhat planned out on notebook, but there might be some deviation here and there to suit the plot. Anyhow, enjoy my readers! And sorry for starting a new one, I just had to put the idea into practice!]
