Inside the tent, the soft glow of a single light orb illuminated the space. Fey sat beside Julian, having changed into her usual, comfortable sleeping attire. The boisterous energy from outside was gone, replaced by a more intimate quiet.
"It seems the others are a bit... complainy, because I snatched you away tonight," Fey remarked with a lazy smirk, though a hint of genuine concern lingered in her eyes.
Julian, already settled, glanced at her. "Your request was rather sudden. It's natural for it to cause some friction."
"Better to be sudden than to let it fester," Fey countered, her voice losing some of its usual dry edge. "I'm not good at the whole 'waiting and hinting' game. If I want something, I say it."
A faint, almost approving look crossed Julian's face. "I see. My initial impression of you was of a disciplined, serious woman, not unlike Celestia in her professionalism."
