After Eiden had left the house, deliberately avoiding Sasha's questions, she stood at the doorway for a moment, her eyes following his retreating back until he vanished down the street. A faint sigh left her lips, and she turned toward the stairs. Her movements were unhurried, the faint sound of her slippers tapping softly against the wooden steps. She made her way up and into the guest room though, at this point, it had become almost entirely her personal space.
Pushing the door open, she was greeted by the familiar sight: neatly arranged furniture, faint traces of her favorite perfume lingering in the air, and sunlight slipping through the curtains to paint warm patches on the floor. She closed the door behind her and began changing into something more comfortable, letting the snug clothes she had been wearing slide away in exchange for loose, soft fabric that felt cool against her skin.
