I kept sipping the tea, the warm liquid doing little to ease the strange disappointment settling in my chest. He'd just… walked away. Did he really prefer staring out the window to sitting here with me? Ouch.
It felt like he was actively avoiding any kind of physical contact. He'd sat so stiffly, his hands clenched, as if touching me would burn him.
But that didn't make any sense. His eyes told a completely different story. They held a heat, a quiet intensity that promised the exact opposite of distance.
Besides, he was completely different when he was my stripper.
The memory flashed, hot and vivid. His lips trailing fire over my skin, his confident hands holding me close, the raw, unfiltered desire in his gaze that night. All of them. The very ones who made my legs weak, were the Vexxon triplets. And they had no idea I knew.
