Chapter 1 - Drifting Memories in the Void

From darkness to light, and nothingness to existence. Though evil never endures, even goodwill and kindness won't last forever.

From the ashes of the old world, a "man" was born. He was not good nor evil. He was simply—there. A speck in the universe. He sat atop of an asteroid, being a mere observer in the grand scheme of it all.

...In time, he saw the beauty of reality. Not once was he bored; the sheer size of the cosmos truly amazed him.

But he could not put it into words. He only applauded. He clapped every time he sees a galaxy, a planet filled with lush, green life and sometimes.. He witnesses a supernova.

It was truly spectacular. Words or actions couldn't describe how much he adored this journey he was born into.

But in time, he slowly saw this new world fall. Eons pass as nothingness consumed reality, clawing it's darkness onto the vibrant world as even my seat to observe... Was consumed by it. What did it look or even feel like? The pain and suffering that "he" endured, to see the vibrant heaven fade away.. Slowly, and painfully.

...I suppose I cannot hide this no longer. That immeasurable sorrow and pain, the pain that I ENDURED... Was nothing special for the void. I felt as though all I had seen was but a dream.

Something to reminisce that didn't even, exist. As everything slowly faded, even I did so aswell. I fail to recall parts of the world that was once there—to observe.

My memories were like I once was— turned into ash, scaterred in the windless void. All I am now, is a whisper. A breath of the old, vibrant heaven that used to exist. An echo of the past.

I drifted alone in the endless darkness, slowly forgetting what I once saw. These memories once flowed in my mind like an endless river. But in time—they dried up into dust.

...What did I observe? How did I observe all that I saw?

My mind had stopped asking those questions a long time ago. In these hopeless times, I wish there was but a faint light to guide me out of this eternal abyss that entropy weaved.

I drifted across the vast, cold, vacuum, looking for anything. It was hopeless I thought, why would anything live on in this hell..?

Then suddenly—

"...!"

A light appeared. I had seen hope for the first time in eons.

It was faint, so far away it'd be impossible to figure the distance. But it existed. A hope in the depressing void, a speck of life in the cold, dead, unoccupied space.

Even if I could not reach it, I will try. My mind, soul, and body resonate with each other, stirred into one singular sentence—

" I will grasp this light into my hands..!"

I tightly clenched my fist as I gained hope, to live on. To create something as beautiful- No, even more majestic than what I had seen.

The light grew closer, as it became brighter. It blinded my eyes as the light became impossible to look at directly... It's overwhelming presence loomed on my conscience.

But I pushed on, and as it neared my body.. I see a star, wrapped in a fragile string.

I unwrapped the string as it told me the story of how it became what it is, a star born from the last elements of the old world.

It was just like me, it resonated with something inside me. I understood what I had to do.

I unwrapped the strings and wrapped it around my hands.

Its story coursed through my veins, the gift of light now rests in my soul.

I raised my hand, conjuring a whirlwind of dust, and light.. To fill that empty void, with the gift of hope, and eternal life. My purpose was clear—

I knew what I had to do.
