Jason: "Again."
Froakie launched a water pulse.
Jason: "Again."
Froakie launched several more Water Pulse's.
Jason: "AGAIN!"
Nathan: "JASON CALM DOWN!"
Jason breathed heavily as he calmed down as he stared at the numerous Zubats, Onix's, Geodude and Gravelers fainted before him as Jason dragged Nathan to Iron Island to train against the rock types inhabiting the island.
Jason: "Oh well, it looks like our training is going well."
Nathan: "How the hell is this training? You're just one shooting Pokemon with a 4 times weakness toward water types."
Jason: "Well clearly something went wrong if Froakie lost to a Rock type so we're fixing that mistake!"
Nathan: "Dude, look at Froakie, he's exhausted."
Froakie croaked weakly as Jason glared at him before finally taking a sigh.
Jason: "Alright, Froakie, get some rest."
Jason returned Froakie to his Pokeball.
Nathan: "Finally."
Jason: "Now what am I supposed to do for training?"
???: "Perhaps I could provide some assistance."
Jason and Nathan turn to find a tall man in a blue suit and hat behind him. Jason opened his mouth to say something, however he felt something completely unknown to him.
Jason: "Did you just feel that?"
Nathan: "Feel what?"
???: "Ah so you felt it too?"
Jason: "I'm sorry, who are you?"
Riley: "Right, of course. My name is Riley, just a humble man researching the mines of this very Island. But since you're looking to get stronger, you might help me with a small favor."
Jason: "What would that be?"
Riley: "Well My Riolu recently hatched from his egg, and I'm looking for someone to help train him, and since you were able to feel what you felt, I think you might be the perfect candidate."
Jason sighs.
Jason; "Alright, It'll give me something noteworthy to do."
Nathan: "What my rude friend meant was thank you very much for this opportunity sir."
Riley: "Oh it's no problem, I should really be thanking you for taking this deal."
Nathan: "Well good luck, I'm going to go back to mining to see if we can make more money."
Riley: "I wouldn't recommend that, all the Ore here dried up."
Nathan: "I'm sure to find something, Let's go Fennekin!"
Fennekin: "Fennekin!"
Nathan and Fennekin then rushed toward the mines to find Ore.
Riley: "He's certainly enthusiastic."
Jason: "Yeah ever since the mining job we took, he's been excited to earn gems. Come to think of it, I need to get my money up."
Riley: "Well let's get started in the training shall we?"
Jason: "Alright then."
Meanwhile Nathan had been mining for several minutes without finding any gems whatsoever.
Nathan: "Come on, where are they!?"
Fennekin: "Fennekin"
Nathan: "We're not turning back until we get something!"
Nathan Continues mining with Fennekin reluctantly following. Suddenly both of them hear the sounds of cracking below their feet.
Nathan: "Oh no."
Nathan and Fennekin fell below as they screamed until landing face first onto another layer of ground.
Fennekin: "Fenne…kin."
Nathan: "Oww, sorry for roping you into this buddy, but where are we?"
Roark: "You two are in the Sinnoh Underground."
Nathan and Fennekin looked up to see Roark standing before them.
Nathan: "Wait, aren't you the Gym Leader Jason lost to?"
Roark: "I'm guessing you're one of his friends?"
Nathan: "You could say that. So we're actually underground in Sinnoh?"
Roark: "That's right, I normally go here to find rare fossils. Care to join me?"
Nathan: "Sure, Two heads are better than one."
So Nathan and Roark spend the next hour mining as Nathan found various sphere's and Roark found various fossils not found normally in Sinnoh. However, Natahn's eyes dart a corner as he slowly sneaks toward whatever he sees. He peaks through the corner to find a Rhyhorn minding his own business. Nathan slowly takes out his Pokeball and throws it as hard as possible, but instead of catching it, Rhyhorn breaks free and notices Nathan and gets angry.
Nathan: "Eh, shit… ROARK!"
Roark turns to his surprise Nathan and Fennekin running away from the Rhyhorn chasing after the both of them as Roark joins them.
Jason: "Come on, listen to me damn it and use a quick attack!"
Jason barked as Riolu disobeyed every order that came out of his mouth. Riolu was currently in a battle against a geodude where he dodged all of his Rock Throws and smack downs pissing off the Geodude making him use self destruct, but the attack missed Riolu as he yawned. Jason was prepared to give Riolu a Tongue lashing, but he held himself back as Riolu wandered off toward the caves as Jason watched with a concerned look on his face.
Riley: "Why didn't you criticize him for his disobedience?"
Jason: "Let's say if I did, I'd have a repeat of what happened with me and Froakie. Plus I need to work on giving my Pokemon valid criticism."
Riley: "Patience is a virtue."
Jason: "Look what exactly have I been feeling and how do you know what it is? Does it have anything to do with Riolu?!"
Riley: "You could say that, are you aware of the concept of Aura?"
Jason: "Never heard of it."
Riley: "Well to put it briefly, Aura is the energy that is the essence of every living thing. There once existed people who utilized this power with their Pokemon called Aura Guardians, bringing good deeds and passing this knowledge down throughout the years. Riolu was the offspring of my Lucario, so he's looking for a trainer that can match his aura.
Jason: "That sounds intense, but there's one problem, I'm not an Aura Guardian! Just because I can feel Aura doesn't mean I can utilize it."
Jason scoffs.
Jason: "No wonder Riolu won't listen to me."
Riley: "What do you mean?"
Before Jason could respond, a loud cry could be heard from the caves.
Jason: "Riolu!"
Riley: "Jason, wait!"
But Jason ran deeper toward the caves running as quickly as possible as his eyes darted left and right hoping to find him. Jason turned the corner to find a tall man, holding onto Riolu by his body.
Katto: "Jason Suketami, You will follow me as I'll escort you back to Enotita City."
Jason: "How about you go and fu--"
Jason paused as Scizor held his claw around Jason's neck, inches away from cutting it in half.
Katto: "We can do this the easy way or the lethal way. One funny move and Scizor won't hesitate to crush your neck"
Jason: "Who the hell are you?"
Katto: "That is the least of your concerns, my boss gave me orders to bring you back for the Violation of Participating in Pokemon Battles outside the city. So I can either bring you back and face punishment for your crimes, or I can kill you right here and then your friend Nathan next, so what will it be?"
Jason: "You forgot about the 3rd option."
Katto: "Oh yeah, what is it?"
Jason stares at Riolu, Riolu looks at Jason reading his aura and without words, Riolu knows what the plan is as he gives Jason a determined look.
Jason: "Me punching you in the face, Bitch!"
Instantly Jason elbowed Katto's Scizor as Riolu used a quick attack to free himself from Katto as he rushed toward Jason as he threw a punch with Katto grabbing it.
Katto: "Scizor, X-Scissor and kill them both!"
Katto grips onto Jason's fist, making it impossible to escape as Scizor goes to cut both Jason and Riolu.
Riley: "Aura Sphere!"
Riley's Lucario launched an Aura sphere at Scizor, saving Jason and Riolu. Riolu then used another quick attack on Katto, giving Jason and Riolu the chance to break free as they jumped back next to Riley and Lucario, and they were angry.
Riley: "The fact you didn't hesitate to kill a baby pokemon and a child is unforgivable."
Katto: "I'd rather you didn't get involved, my business is only with Jason Suketami."
Riley: "I'm not allowing you to bring harm toward the mines, Jason or Riolu."
Katto: "Very well, I was here to escort Jason or take his life, but if you intend on getting in my way, Scizor won't mind having blood on his claws. Grunts!"
Four Grunts appeared from the mines and marched toward Katto.
Annihilate Grunt: "Yes Admin Katto?!"
Jason: "Wait, his name is Katto?"
Katto: "Deal with the kid, I'll deal with the man."
Annihilate Grunts: "Yes sir!"
The Team Annihilate Grunts sent out a Zubat, Pawniard, Skorupi, and Impidimp.
Riley: "Watch yourself Jason, this a battle we can't afford to lose."
Jason: "I'll say, Riolu, will you listen to my commands even if im not exactly an aura guardian?"
Riolu: "Riolu!"
Jason: "I'll take that as a yes."
Suddenly Froakie came out of his Pokeball.
Riolu: "Riolu?"
Froakie: "Froakie, Froakie!"
Riolu: "Riolu!"
Jason: "Wait, you want to join in on this Froakie?"
Froakie: "Froakie."
Froakie then turns to Riolu giving him a head nod with a smile as Riolu does the same.
Jason: "Alright then, Let's get this party started!"
Jason high fives Riolu and Froakie as the three of them rush toward the Grunts and their Pokemon with Quick Attack.
Meanwhile Nathan and Roark were still running from Rhyhorn as the Rhyhorn breaks through rock after rock without even slowing his pace.
Roark: "Why is it so angry?!"
Nathan: "Well I tried to capture it without battling by using stealth so that ended up as a failure."
Roark: "Good instincts, but stealth won't work with aggressive Pokemon like Rhyhorn!"
Nathan: "I can tell! Fennekin, use ember!"
Fennekin Jumps from Nathan's shoulder as He fires a barrage of Embers with Rhyhorn shrugging them off, unrelenting. Fennekin's anger builds up as he aggressively uses Tail whip to lower Rhyhorn's defense, only pissing off Rhyhorn even more before he jumps and runs straight at Rhyhorn.
Nathan: "What are you doing Fennekin?"
Fennekin's body overheats as he runs faster and faster, learning flame charge as Fennekin and the Rhyhorn clash. Both Pokemon struggle in the clash to overpower the other, But Fennekin's body reaches new temperatures of heat as his flame charge overpowers Rhyhorn as Rhyhorn falls on his back. Witnessing this, Nathan turns around and throws a Pokeball as hard as possible at Rhydon. The Pokeball shakes, shakes, and finally…clicks.
Nathan: "You did it Fennekin, you won, and I just caught my first Pokemon, Let's go!"
Fennekin collapsed as he used his ears to dissipate the heat slowly and calming itself down. Nathan returns Fennekin to his Pokeball in order to give him a massive break.
Roark: "Impressive, normally beginner trainers catch early route pokemon like Caterpie or Starly. But catching a Rhyhorn is quite the feat."
Nathan: "Thanks sir, I really have Fennekin to thank for this."
Nathan and Roark then turned their heads up as they heard rumbling from above.
Nathan: "Oh no, Jason!"
Roark and Nathan rushed through the mines to get back to Iron Island.
As Lucario and Scizor battled fiercely, Riley watched how Jason, Froakie and Riolu took out the grunts and their pokemon in unison.
Riley: Impressive Jason, all of your aura's are fully in sync.
Katto: "Are you forgetting your opponent is me!?"
Riley: "Not at all, I'm just admiring the bond between people and pokemon."
Lucario used Metal Claw as Scizor used Bullet Punch as they clashed mid air. Lucario then fired an Aura Sphere with Katto's Scizor Double hit to deflect the Aura Sphere before rushing toward Lucario to hit him with the 2nd hit. However, Froakie and Riolu both jumped from behind Lucario to land a quick attack on Scizor canceling out the double hit.
Jason: "Sorry Riley, but we're here for backup now!"
Riley: "You already took out those grunts?"
Jason: "Yep, our teamwork was flawless."
Katto: "ENOUGH! I've wasted enough time, All of you will die now!"
Katto then pulls out a pendant from his pocket with a mysterious stone in the middle, Riley eyes widened knowing exactly what it was.
Katto: "MEGA…"
Before Katto could activate his stone. The sound of Sirens began approaching the caves.
Katto: "Damn it, Consider yourselves lucky you get the chance to live another day."
Scizor used Bullet Punch on the walls causing rocks to separate Katto from Jason and Riley. Lucario used Aura Sphere to destroy the rocks, but Katto and the grunts were nowhere to be found.
Jason: "Great, we let them get away!"
Riley: "Regardless, you help protect the mines and the wild pokemon that inhabit this island, so well done Jason."
Jason: "Thanks Riley, although you really should thank Riolu and Froakie."
Riolu: "Riolu."
Froakie: "Froakie."
Riley: "Looks like they're already fast friends already."
Jason: "I guess."
Jason then places Riolu on the ground to his confusion.
Jason: "Listen Riolu, Even though I can feel aura, I'm not an aura guardian. But even still, I want you to join my team! Cause I can tell you have so much potential, and as the Future World Champion, I want to help you achieve this potential and learn more about this 'Aura', how does that sound?"
Jason awaited Riolu's answer as Riolu turned at Lucario and Froakie and both of them gave Riolu a nod.
Riolu: "Riolu!"
Riley: "That was a yes."
Jason: "Awesome!"
Jason pulls out a Pokeball and points it in front of Riolu, Riolu presses the button in the middle as he enters the pokeball as it clicks.
Jason: "Welcome to the team Riolu."
Nathan: "Jason!"
Nathan and Roark finally caught up with the both of them.
Nathan: "We heard rumbling from down below so we rushed here to see the problem, we also brought the cops."
Officers then came marching in to investigate the situation.
Jason: "Honestly, thanks for that man, you practically saved me and Riley's life."
Roark: "Riley, are you the guy who recommended my dad to make me a gym leader?"
Riley: "Indeed, good to see you all grown up Roark."
???: "If you don't mind gentleman, I could use a bit of your time."
The four of them turn to find a man in a brown trench coat standing before them holding onto the symbol of Team Annihilate left behind by one of the grunts.
Jason: "How many more mystery people have to show up today!?"
Looker: "You folks can call me Looker, and considering this was left behind, I need to inform you on the danger that surrounds this organisation."
While Nathan was confused, Jason was completely stern knowing that it was a miracle he's still alive, and still needs to get stronger.
That Evening.
Orobas: "You let him escape!?"
Katto: "Unfortunately, I couldn't let my presence be exposed by law enforcement."
Orobas: "So not only does Jason know your face, He now knows your name!"
Katto: "You should blame that on your incompetent grunts."
Orobas: "Oh I know, and they're getting reprimanded at this moment! Focus on locating the pieces of the Djinn bottle until further notice."
Orobas hangs up.
Officer: "Hey! What are you doing in this restricted area!?"
Officer #2: "Put your hands in the air!"
Katto turns towards the officers slowly and without saying a word, Scizor uses X-scissor to decapitate both the officers. As the blood from their bodies rain down on both Katto and Scizor, they push them toward the ocean as Katto walks away.
Katto: "Jason Suketami, next time we cross paths, you won't have the fortune of being saved."
