CHAPTER 14: Caelum Breaks
Caelum's POV
"She's a rogue, a traitor, that's what the pack believes now." Elira said softly, her voice curling like smoke in the council chamber.
I did not even look at her because if I do, I would have forgotten that my hand was not around her throat already.
"She's not a rogue, she was mine." I growled.
"Correction, she tempted the Alpha, seduce you with different things, control you with her omega softness. And then ran after committing a crime against the pack." Elira turned toward the elders, folding her hands neatly over her lap.
"A crime? She ran because you displayed your wedding dress in front of her the day." I snapped, rising from my chair.
Elira's expression did not even change but her voice turned colder. "Enough."
The room was silent. The Elders shifted in each of their robes. Looking at me like I was a stubborn wolf pup, and not the Alpha who bled for this territory. One of them cleared his throat.
