The beastman soldier had already submitted the adoption papers for the dog-eared boy. By the time they arrived at the capital, the papers would likely be accepted.
"You too, dog-eared boy! Be well! Make sure you eat lots of food!"
"Dog-eared kids are strong, so you might become a soldier or a knight in the future. When that happens, come back here! We'll be waiting for you!"
Even the dog-eared child was surprised that people were cheering him on.
He blinked his eyes a few times in shock and then lowered his head shyly.
But his tail was wagging happily without him being able to stop it.
"Everyone here is good and kind. There are some people who still look down on us beastfolk, but many humans will accept us like this. At least in this country, they don't treat you badly because of the color of your fur. If you work hard, you'll get happiness equal to the effort you give."
The dog-eared foster father gently stroked the boy's head and spoke kindly.
