Chapter 22 - Chapter 20: well it seems sangvis is starting to build mobile suits

Vertin opened her eyes to a blinding, sterile white light. Her head felt heavy, a dull throb pulsating behind her eyes as she slowly blinked my way back to awareness. The blur of the pristine ceiling above me sharpened into a white celling

"Oh! You're finally awake," a voice said, a hint of surprise in its tone.

Vertin turned her head and saw a girl with long, flowing black hair and vibrant purple eyes. Her name, I knew it was Dreamer. She held a tablet, her fingers a blur as she typed.

"Who are you?" vertin asked, my voice a dry croak.

"I'm Dreamer, and we'll be colleagues from now on," she replied, her eyes still glued to the screen.

"Colleagues? Do you… know me?" I pressed, a sense of unease growing in my gut.

"Yes. You were hit by an explosion that damaged your hand, but don't worry, you're safe now."

"Is that why I don't remember anything?" I asked.

"Yes. We did our best to help you and fix some of your broken parts," Dreamer said, finally looking up.

"Okay… so, are you my friend?" I asked, meeting her gaze.

A brief pause. "Yeah," she said, though a flicker of something unreadable irritation? annoyance? flashed in her purple eyes before she looked away but i heard her saying

"damn you agent! You own me big time!" she said silently

"Let's begin. I just need to ask you some questions, and after that, you need to come with me," she stated, her tone shifting to one of business.

"Okay." vertin said

"Do you know me or anything else?" she asked, her gaze fixed on the screen again.

"This was my chance. My mind raced. I could take advantage of this time to play the amnesia card." vertin thought

"I… I know my name and a few other things," vertin replied, forcing a note of uncertainty into my voice. "But the rest seems blank."

"Okay, that's normal. Don't worry," she said without looking up. "I just need to do a quick check, and then you need to come with me."

Dreamer stood and hooked a wire to my arm, continuing to tap away at her tablet. A diagnostic test began, and she started firing off a ton of questions.

"So, you still know your name?" she asked.

"Yes. My name is Vertin," I said.

"Do you remember anything before meeting me?"

"I… I don't. Sorry." vertin said to dreamer

The questions kept coming, and I answered them all, weaving a web of lies and half-truths. The information was a blend of what I knew was true and what I made up on the spot, designed to keep them off balance.

After a few minutes, she removed a set of restraints from my limbs and gestured for me to follow. We walked in silence down a pristine white corridor. The air was cool and heavy. We stopped in front of a heavy door. It hissed open, revealing a large, brightly lit laboratory.

In the center of the room, on a circular platform, was an armored suit. I commanded my system to scan it, and a flood of information poured into my mind.

[The FA Armor - Sangvis First Mobile Suit Add-On]

[This is the first combat suit designed by the Sangvis Corporation. It has two shields, one on each arm, and two on its back, capable of blocking high-caliber rifle fire. The left shoulder has an attached micro-missile launcher with thirty-five missiles, and the right shoulder has a railgun. The right arm has a twin laser cannon.]

"Here's our destination. The agent said to give you this. I don't know what it is, but it looks like an exosuit or something. I don't care. My job here is done," Dreamer said, moving away from the armor.

Vertin looked at the armor, then back at Dreamer. A thought sparked in her mind." It's crude, but it's good enough. "

Then she continues to think

"They think I'm going to work with them, to be their pawn. They think they can control me No. I'll take what I need from them, and then I will take over Sangvis. This is the first step. After all, empires don't start big. They start small." vertin thought to her self

"Oh, I almost forgot," Dreamer said, reading from her tablet. "The armor has thirty-five micro-missiles, a railgun, and a twin laser cannon behind the shield on the right arm."

"That's good to know," I said, walking toward the armor. I turned back to Dreamer. "So… is this mine?"

"Yeah, that's yours now," she said, still not looking up.

"Wait! Something is wrong. This had to be a test. They weren't going to just hand me this upgrade. Not without a catch. I had just woken up. And just ask basic questions only about me this has to be a trap They are baiting me testing me, watching to see how I would react" vertin thought thinking deeply about what are sangvis plan

Then dreamer speak disputing her thoughts

"hey! I are you listening?" she said clearly annoyed

"ah! Sorry what was it again" she ask dreamer

"i said if you need anything else" she said becoming more irritated

"so then ermmm... How do I put this on?" I asked.

She looked at her tablet, her brow furrowed in confusion.

"Well, we have to wait for the agent. She only told me to show it to you and never told me how to put that thing on." Her agitation was clear.

"Okay," I said, a slow smile forming on my lips.

Then a click echoed from the corridor. I turned to see who it was. It was a woman which i now is agent.

"You're finally awake," the agent said.

"And you are?" I asked, confused.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Agent," she said, doing a theatrical curtsy.

"I heard you're my boss?" I asked.

"Yes, I am your superior," she said with a small smile.

"So, is that thing mine?" I said, pointing at the armor.

"Yes, the mistress wants you to have it. She expects good things from you. Don't disappoint her," she said with a serious face.

"I won't," vertin said.

"Good. Now then, let's begin," Agent said with a serious expression.
