Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"It is whispered that Alpha Rica and Alpha Demain have something going on between them. Why can't we?"

Loisa we are a couple of omegas, we can't be together. No one's going to support this.

Who cares?! We can hide behind the shadows no one has to know. " After all my sister is all over the place with Alpha Demain, no one would have the mind for us. If two Alphas could play around why can't we? Plus I love you Chris, I want you. I don't want to be with some rude and arrogant Alpha or Beta. I want to be with you.

I...I love you too Loisa, but we both know that one day, we'll find our mates or they'd come find us, and we don't dare reject them.

In the shadow bound training grounds, silence ensued as they both held each other's eyes helplessness and desperation an isomeric reflection in their eyes.

Sobs broke the eerie and already sad silence.

Standing in the narrow , corridors that led to the male's changing rooms,

a gentle soft spoken man held the tender hands of a pretty blonde lady as they sobbed away their despair.

Their beauty seemingly surreal as the moon light seemed to enhance their glow.

The young man's pale blue eyes stared down at the woman he so cherished and yet had to let go because of the unfairness of his birth, tears continues to flow down his cheeks, yes that was all he could do, he dared not stand against power for he knew,as an omega he stood no chance against a beta not to talk of an alpha.

The female's eyes held similar traces of sorrow, she knew he spoke the truth, yes it was hurtful but that's what they had to deal with as they were birthed omegas. They were birthed prettier and more beautiful than any other creature and the price they had to pay was to be weaker than them, more fragile more tamable and maybe that's why they appealed to the senses of an alpha. The alphas liked to tame, to be in control, they'd heard. And no omega was ever mated to a fellow omega, an omega could only be mates with an alpha or a beta. They were too powerless to stand against them. And hence they were mostly victims of bullying.

More than anything an Omega's true fear was ever meeting his alpha or beta mate. For they wouldn't know if their mates were on of the few good ones, the exceptions like her father who didn't trample upon their mates, or one of the many evil once they've always heard about, those Alphas, they've heard only seek their mates for pleasure, they don't care about them or treasure them like a mate should be. The thought of an omega having a mate like that was a nightmare.

Their only purpose of existence was to be pretty and wait for a majestic possessive and aggressive alpha to tame them.

Of course they hated this vulnerable oppression but who dared to complain!

After a while of sobbing, and consoling, they stared at each other their eyes seeming determine to face what ever was to come.

You shouldn't have said that about your sister. After a while Chris said.

I know, I didn't mean to... She really didn't mean to use her sister predicament as a cover for her own troubles....

Shh.. I know, I understand. He smiled at her, Loisa could look tough and head strong at times, but he knew if there was an alpha she didn't really hate aside from her father, it was her sister,Rica.

I'll always understand you Loisa. I love you, I do, but I can't risk you getting hurt over a fight we can't win.

I heard the Alpha king would be making an appearance at tomorrow's mating ceremony, let's get ready, who knows, our mates would probably be present. They were both of age this mating season, they were going to meet their mates soon, and today, particularly Chris's wolf seems to be quite restless about something.

You feel it too? Loisa asks staring up at Chris's puzzled expression, she had also felt it earlier in the day too.

Chris looks at her his calm eyes giving an answer he didn't have to loud out.

Loisa met his calm and resolute eyes, they both knew what that meant. Their mates were either here already, or they were coming for them.

She realizes how Chris was still so calm even after knowing their mates were close, she liked that about him, amongst the omegas in the park house, he was the most collected even more so than she, the alpha's.

daughter. He always seems so perfectly calm, he seemed to realize and accept the faith granted to them by the moon.

Chris leaned in and planted a gentle soft kiss on her forehead whispering, ... go they'll be looking for you by now. Loisa stepped out of her daze and took a lingering look at the face she'd probably not be seeing so much after today. She had to let go... And so she left glancing back after each step.

After making sure she'd really left, Chris crumbles to the floor a pained look on his face as he grieved his loss. After a while, he stands up, takes in deep breaths and whispers to himself; life is no sugar, take it as it's sweet and as it turns bitter". Revelling in his chants, his normal calm smile appears on his face.

Maybe he wasn't so calm and collected after all. Maybe he was just too good at holding it in.
