Chapter 6 - Lonely Influence - Chapter 6: Investigation of a Mission

Somewhere in Little Caliphs Kindergarten Taman Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban. A currently closed and abandoned kindergarten school. Multiple investigators are surrounding the area, looking for necessary or important cases and objects that were involved in the School shooting incident 9 years ago, which happened… here.

Even after 9 years has passed, many police departments are still interested in the investigation, some even have attempted to bring a priest over to pray to the school due to an appearance of a devil said by rumors of locals.

"So, tell me, what exactly happened here?"

Said by a middle-aged man with short blond hair, dark purple eyes, and a defined facial structure. His large height, broad shoulders, and serious expression give him an intimidating presence, as well as wearing a Military General's uniform. He also has a goatee with defined cheekbones, as his hands are behind his back, looking up to the abandoned kindergarten school. At the left side of his chest shows a small golden badge that carries the name Koby Frantzes.

Next to him, is an old man with the same haircut but with a beard and mature, serious stature as well as wearing a Military Commander's uniform, his head turning to the blonde man next to him. At the left side of his chest shows a small golden badge that carries the name George Sebastian Jr.

Commander George: "Well apparently, 9 years ago, there was a school incident that happened here. The shooters were… cartel members from Mexico, who had driven all across Mexico to Malaysia by boat without getting noticed by Military boats that surrounded the Andaman Sea. They're very sneaky…"

General Koby: "All across to Malaysia? That's surprisingly impressive. Those cartel members are getting even more advanced nowadays…"

Commander George nodded in agreement, as he watched Koby approach a random structure of the kindergarten school, as he placed a hand to it and felt the leftover cracks.

General Koby: "So, what are the whereabouts of the cartel members?'

Commander George: "All dead. Unfortunately. I heard that they all died along with the people and children they killed 9 years ago…"

Commander George then shrugs as he continues;

Commander George: "...But there is still no clear evidence as to why. But locals said that a demon appeared and killed both the victims and the cartel members. I wanted to believe it because it is the closest accurate evidence, but there's just no way a demon actually existed."

General Koby stared at the structure for a few seconds, before turning his head to Commander George by the shoulder with an expectant expression.

General Koby: "The names of the victims, do you have them?"

Commander George: "Oh absolutely… By birth certificates, that is."

He said before taking out a document filled with the stored birth certificates of the victims, as General Koby took it and started observing each certificate, noticing red X marks on the profile pictures held by the birth certificates.

Commander George: "Although, some of these are marked by a red 'X' as a reminder that they are dead."

While General Koby is observing each birth certificate, he notices that one of them is not marked by a red X, which came from the birth certificate of Narasao Tarosono. Its profile picture showed a child of 7 years and large pupils.

General Koby: "Commander… this one is not marked."

Commander George: "Oh, that? The body was not discovered after the incident. So we decided to not place a mark on it until we confirmed that the said person is dead."

General Koby: "I see…"

Commander George: "But… hypothetically speaking, what if… that this child is the reason why everyone here during the incident, was dead."

General Koby lifted his head to Commander George, his expression confused and curious.

General Koby: "What do you mean?"

Commander George: "I'm just saying that this child might be the demon that the locals were talking about."

General Koby: "That seemed impossible… the child looks too innocent to kill."

Commander George: "Well, the devil makes itself look beautiful to deceive others."

General Koby stays silent for a moment, before putting the birth certificates back inside the document and hands it over to Commander George, before walking past him.

General Koby: "That's enough for today. We'll be returning here by tomorrow."

General Koby says as he walks, but not before getting stopped by Commander George;

Commander George: "Also, I almost forgot to mention. About your nephew, Trizha Frantzes."

Hearing that name, General Koby stopped I'm his tracks as his eyes widened a little at the mention of Trizha's name.

General Koby: "...What about her?"

Commander George: "Well… she's getting more popular in social media, even if not so much. Due to that, she has probably met the expected requirements to return to the Frantzes family. So when are you planning to take her back?"

General Koby stayed silent, listening to every word Commander George told him. And noticing his lack of speech, Commander George began to speak for him.

Commander George: "But don't worry, while you're away to take her back, I'll be sending some troops to finish this incident mission for you. But that will only happen according to your choice… So, which will it be, Koby Frantzes…?"

General Koby stayed silent for a moment, before slowly turning his head over to his shoulder, staring at Commander George with a serious, intimidating demeanor, as he began to say;

"I'd rather save the world from a demon, than bring back the child of a traitor."

General Koby says, before continuing his walk out of the kindergarten school area. On other hand, Commander George watches as General Koby walks away, thinking;

Commander George, in his thoughts: "...Every member of the Frantzes Family is passionate about the things they are occupied with… and Koby is passionate about Heroism. But he once doubted heroism itself, and I doubt there won't be a second time. So yes, he didn't mean that."

Commander George then looks up to the sky, his expression softening from a short skepticism about General Koby's declaration from just a moment ago, as he mutters the words;

"Oh, Natazha Frantzes… you've really outdone yourself."

A few minutes later, both Commander George and General Koby are walking in the streets together, heading to buy snacks for now. But while walking, Commander George kept his eyes staring at General Koby, having his own thoughts in his mind, till General Koby suddenly spoke to Commander George.

General Koby: "What snack do you want?"

Commander George got startled and looked at General Koby in surprise, not expecting his unexpected generosity.

Commander George: "Wait who? Me?"

General Koby: "Yes. Who else am I pointing to."

Commander George: "Well I mean, you've never really done this before…"

General Koby: "And why does it matter?"

Commander George: "Well first of all, you are seen as intimidatingly scary for others and don't look promising when it comes to socializing—"

While Commander George is explaining something about General Koby, a line of school roadtrip buses from the JT International School, passes by in the road. And as General Koby observes the bus, time seems to slow down… as he notices Nomoro from the window, as he slowly stares back at General Koby, before time resumes and the bus continues forward, leaving the area where General Koby is in.

Commander George: "And lastly, you are–"

Suddenly, Commander George gets cut off by General Koby through a question;

General Koby: "Commander, those buses… where are they headed to?"

Commander George: "Oh those buses? They're from the JT International School, and today is currently their school vacation event. They are headed towards the famous La Luna Sangre Hotel from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Why?"

General Koby narrows his eyes in the buses, which are disappearing from sight, before turning around walking off.

General Koby: "I'm gonna need you to send several troops to surround the La Luna Sangre Hotel next Monday by early evening, bring helicopters as well. Make sure they surround the entire area by that time."

General Koby said in a serious tone, as Commander George gets very confused as he follows General Koby.

Commander George: "Hold on, you mean now? What made you so alert just by a minor event?"

General Koby then stops in his tracks before turning to Commander George with a serious expression.

General Koby: "You should be lucky that I decided to keep this mission to find the demon you were talking about. Because just now… I just did."

General Koby says, before turning around again and walking off. Meanwhile, Commander George just stood there, surprised at the revelation of General Koby's instant and quick discovery.

Commander George, in his thoughts: "Oh, he found him already."
