Chapter 5 - Extra: Classes and Elements

[A/N: Thank you for the feedback. I am grateful to everyone who has read and supported this project so far. So I went back and made some adjustments to the RPG system of character development, which you can see below.]

*I couldn't upload the chart/pic to make my life easier. You'll find it out there if you search for it. I will try to explain the chart in the best way I can for your convenience.*

General Stats:

*Table 1*

Strength: P. Att, P. Pen, Block

Vitality: Hps, Shield/Heal, Block

Constitution: Hp, Def, Resistance

Dexterity: Resistance, Crit Dmg, Crit Res

Agility: Crit, Dodge. Speed

Intelligence: Mps, Resistance, Shield

Wisdom: M. Att, Mp, M. Pen

These are basic character attributes for our adventurers in this world, and how each attribute affects other aspects of their aptitude. Some stats are easy to understand and more generic, but just for the sake of avoiding confusion, I'll go over them.

P. Att: physical attack, P.Pen: physical penetration, Block: ability/rate to block, Hps: Hit point regen rate, Shield: ability to shield, Heal: ability to heal or receive heal, Hp: Hit points, Def: physical defense, Resistance: magic defense/resistance to status effect, Crit Dmg: critical damage, Crit Res: critical resistance, Crit rate: critical rate, Dodge: ability/rate to dodge, speed: affects attack speed/movement, Mps: mana regeneration rate, M. Att: magic attack, MP: mana points, M.Pen: magic penetration.

*Table 2*

Ale:

Str D, Vit D, Con C, Dex B*, Agi C, Int C, Wis D

Rank Wood, Class Rogue, Element Thunder.

Acharya:

Str C, Vit C, Con E, Dex C, Agi B*, Int C, Wis D

Rank Wood, Class Ranger, Element Wind.

These attribute grades are based on their current level, which will change as they obtain or craft better gear and acquire better skills. The class mentioned is their starting class, and the characters will advance to a Specialized class when certain conditions are fulfilled. 'Green' color in the chart above signifies the class attribute, with primary having asterisks, 'Gold' signifies specialization, and 'Red' is the weak attribute.

[A/N: BDW, there is no such thing as a perfect SSS build in my story :P]

Classes:

Below is a chart generalizing the concepts of class and attribute in our world.

*Table 3*

Class Mage

1st attribute: Wis

2nd attribute: Int

The specializations for the Mage class are as Follows

Exorcist specialization Str, weak Dex

Bokor specialization Vit, weak Agi

Warlock specialization Con, weak Vit

Elementalist specialization Dex, weak Con

Runesmith specialization Agi, weak Str

Finally, no other specialization for Sage.

Taking this as an example, I will explain the system. Starting class in Mage, the main attributes for this class are Wisdom and Intelligence. This is where the generalization stops and specialization starts. One primary condition for advancing to a specialized class would be to develop a specific attribute through training, scrolls, and other techniques.

A Mage specializing in constitution, having weaker vitality, will advance to the Warlock class. But some people who like a balanced build and only focus on the Mage aspect of the build with no specialization will advance to a hidden specialized class called Sage.

I cannot post the entire chart here, and it's best to explore the world through story, so I will mention all the classes and the respective attribute they belong to for the sake of clarity.

There are 43 classes in the 'ATE Abyss' world.

Mage (Wis, Int): Exorcist (Str), Bokor (Vit), Warlock (Con), Elementalist (Dex), Runesmith (Agi), and Sage.

Sorcerer (Int, Wis): Spell Weaver (Str), Soothsayer (Vit), Oracle (Con), Spell Singer (Dex), Spirit Dancer (Agi), and Invoker.

Rogue (Dex, Agi): Harbinger (Str), Trickster (Vit), Corsair (Con), Ghost Blade (Int), Riftwalker (Wis), and Phantom.

Ranger (Agi, Dex): Raider (Str), Reaper (Vit), Shadow Dancer (Con), Swashbuckler (Int), Druid (Wisdom), and Slayer.

Warrior (Str): Berserker (Vit), Gladiator (Agi), Legionnaire (Dex), Blade Dancer (Agi), Champion (Int), Spellblade (Wis), and Blademaster.

Guardian (Con, Vit): Bastion (Str), Dreadnought (Dex), Sentinel (Agi), Dragoon (Int), Monk (Wis), and BattleBorn.

Cleric (Vit, Con): Paladin (Str), Inquisitor (Dex), Crusader (Agi), Templar (Int), Acolyte (Wis), and Saint.

Elements:

There are seven core elements: Wind, Water, Fire, Earth, Dark, Space/Time(ST), and Light. Accompanied by 4 derivative elements: Sound, Ice, Thunder, and Metal. Dark, light, and ST are divine, therefore, rare elements.

Like most video games, each element is more effective or resistant to the other. The sequence in which I wrote them is how it works. Water>Fire>Earth and Sound>Ice>Thunder coming back to Light>Wind and Metal>Sound. Everyone can learn basic spells (not skills) from other elements except the one they are weak to, like a Fire main cannot learn Water Spell. Main and derivative elements can acquire and use the Intermediate spells from their respective counterparts; for example, fire and thunder easily learn the intermediate skills from each other.
