Chapter 2 - God?

Then, his Gameboy Advance turned on.

"Wait what? How did my Gameboy turned on without even me touching it?".

Logically, [Censored] was really confused. After all, how could he have expected that out of the absolutely nowhere his console would turn on?

"Alright, you know what? I don't care. If I am going to be trapped here, at least I am going to play a little".

As he said that, he started the game, but something unexpected happened. Instead of showing the logo of Gamefreak and Nintendo, the screen first showed black, and then white. After that, the game finally started, or so he thought. Because it didn't load the savefile. Instead, something else happened.

...

...

...

...

"!!!!!"

The endless void started to turn white, and then [Censored], who was floating this whole time, started to fall.

"Hohohohoho!"

A deep voice laughed.

"Whooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!" shouted [Censored] while falling.

Thud!

A perceptible sound was heard.

"Urgghhh, my heeeadddd" he said while recovering from the hit.

"Hohohohoho, looks that you finally arrived" said the voice.

That is when [Censored] saw who the voice belonged to. The owner of the voice was a human-like creature. The creature was tall, covered in white light, had a pair of white wings and a long white beard.

"Who are you?" [Censored] asked.

"Your question can be answered with another one. Who do you think brought you here?"

"You brought me here?"

"Exactly" the creature said.

"Okay, then I'm going to change the question. What are you?"

"Well, it depends of who are you asking. However, I am often referred as an omnipotent and omnipresent being that watches everything. The exact same being that you humans call *God*" he answered.

"!!!"

To say [Censored] was surprised would be an understatement.

"Surprised, Alex?" God asked.

"H-how do you know my name?" Alex asked.

"..."

"..."

"Right, you are God, you know everything".

"That is correct".

"But changing the subject. Why am I here?"

"Well, we Gods get bored when we live for millions of years without a purpose. So we try to find things that entertain us" God said.

"Gods, as in PLURAL?!" he asked.

"Yes, plural".

Alex thought for a second.

"Okay, ignoring the fact that there are multiple gods out there; you are telling me that I was abandoned in that endless dark void for God, which is YOU, knows how long, because it was *entertaining*?

"No no no no, I kept you there for a reason. I wanted to talk to you sooner, but I had to deal with something of importance, and forgot you there for a some time".

"..."

"Alright, sorry. Don't you want to know the reason of why I kept your soul instead of sending you to the afterlife?" God asked.

"Actually, yes" Alex said, ignoring the fact that God confirmed that he was really dead.

"Well, the reason is, you interest me".

"Explain, please".

"Well in the more than 100 billion years that I've been working, I've never seen anything like this, or more specifically, YOU" God said.

"A billion years?! Wait, I am getting distracted" Alex shook his head. "What is the thing so interesting about me?"

"Hohohohohoho, well you see, you weren't supposed to die".

"What?!!!!"

"You see, you were supposed to arrive on time to the work interview, and pass it. Then you were going to work for about ten years, before being promoted to CEO of the company. After that, you and [Redacted] were going to meet after a long time, and you both would have realized that you were separated from each other for way too long, and that you had much more in common than you thought.

"Whoa, that is a LOT of information" Alex said.

"And that is not all" God replied.

"After going back and forth, you two were going to start dating. And after two years of the relationship, you were going to get married".

"I was going to WHAT?!".

"What, surprised?" God asked.

"Of course I am!! First you just told me that I wasn't supposed to die in the first place, then you told me that I was going to make it to the interview, and that is an absurdly prestigious company!!!"

God stood there amused, but he allowed Alex to continue.

"After that, you told me that in my future I was supposed to become the CEO!! The mot#$% fuc#$%& CEO!!!

"And that is NOT the worst part!! The worst part is that you just told me that I was supposed to get married to [Redacted]!!!

It was at that point that Alex stopped venting, and right after that God started to laugh hysterically.

"DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY!!!!! Alex was fuming.

"My child, do not misunderstand the reason for my amusement" God said. "It is not because I thrive on your demise, nor from your failures. The reason for my amusement is because [Redacted] had a similar reaction to yours".

Logically Alex was, again, in shock.

"What do you mean that she had a similar reaction to mine?" he thought the worst. "Don't t-tell me t-that she…"

"Died? No, she didn't die" God interrupted.

Alex was relieved, but still had his doubts.

"Ah, for a second I thought that something happened" Alex paused. "But seriously, what do you mean that she had a similar reaction to mine? Also, if she isn't dead, then she has to know that I am dead at least. And how does she? And what reaction did she have specifically? Has she decided to do something about it or to just accept it?

"Stop, those are a lot of questions all made at the same time" God was a bit overwhelmed. "First of all, when I said that she had a similar reaction to yours, I meant it literally".

"What do you mean with *meant it literally* " Alex asked.

"I mean…" God started, "That when I told her what her future was going to be, and that she was going to marry you; she, again, had a similar reaction to yours".

"You did WHA?!"

"Don't interrupt"

"Sorry…"

"Alright" God continued, "Like I was saying, she had a similar reaction to yours when I told her what her future was going to be. And I know what you are thinking: Why did I tell her?"

"Well, yeah"

"Well" God paused in suspense,"There are a lot of reasons. Reason number one, if a couple is brought together by destiny, there is no way to break them apart. Because of that, I decided to at least tell her the truth.

"I see. And how did you do it?"

"Like every God does it in order to keep discretion, in her dreams. And before you say she will believe it is just a mere dream, I made sure that she believes it is true, because it is".

"Oh…"

"Now, the second reason is because I made an exception"

Alex looked at God with a confused expression.

"You see, I am not supposed to intervene in the mortal world. However, like I just said, I made an exception".

"Wait, so you decided to intervene in our world, personally tell her future in her dreams, revealing that I am dead. All of that while keeping my soul just because you were going to use it for who knows what, and everything because you were bored? Really?"

"Yes".

"..."

"Okay, my mind is about to explode".

"Actually, it already has. I had to rewind time multiple times and make sure you had enough sanity left so it wouldn't happen again".

"..."

"Alright, we are getting off topic. Like I asked before, has she decided to do something about it or to just accept it?

"Well that, I am afraid, I can't answer"

"Why?"

"Again, I can't answer".

"Urghh, come onnnn..., alright I guess nothing can be done. But now what?" Alex asked. "Because I doubt you will just leave me in the void again".

"You are right, I will not".

"So what is going to happen to me?"

"Well, since you were supposed to live, I am bringing you back to live. However, I can't bring you back to our world" God said.

"Why?"

"Because you are already declared officially dead, and it will affect the natural course of things, more than it already has".

"So, what world am I going to?"

"Well, initially I wanted to give you the choice, but I am afraid that can't happen".

"Again, why?"

"Because another God has set his sights on you, and asked me to reincarnate you in his world".

"Which world is that, then?" Alex asked.

"The answer to your question is another question. Who is the God of the Pokemon world?".

"You have to be fuc#$%& kidding me".
